Travelled with my daughter, and some friends to a weekend getaway. Even when cold the kids loved swimming in roof top pool. Great service both at entrance as well as rooftop. Room was nice and beds comfortable.

Good: location, easy walking distance to restaurants, West Village, Greenwich Village, High Line, room w/ a view of World Trade Center, bathroom w/ a tub (tub seems rare in NYC), sound sleep (didn't hear horn honks), rooftop pool with a view, gym, exclusive feel, robes, slippers for the mostly hard surface flooring. Not so good: One chair in the room for the desk. One chair for two people w/ a queen bed, so the other must sit on the bed. I want to start the day off with coffee or tea. No coffee or tea in the room or the lobby in the morning when I was in the lobby before 7:30 am. Front desk workers said both nights when I was there coffee would be available in the lobby next morning, but was not. I would have been charged extra on top of the $700/night for a coffee maker to be brought to the room and charged $2 a pod. Gee, thanks. I was told by front desk worker I could walk to a Starbucks for coffee. Instead I walked about 10 minutes to an upscale grocer w/ a self-serve coffee bar that charged me only $2.50 w/ condiments included. Still, I would have much rather preferred the comfort and privacy of sipping coffee in my room while getting dressed for the day than wandering the neighborhood for a basic hospitality beverage, and it was raining. No clock or radio in the room. Did not use the yoga mirror. Marshall speaker is a nice vibe touch, but it didn't power on and we didn't have a compatible cord to plug in our phones. If you want to hang out at the rooftop or need to be in this neighborhood, then this is a good hotel. If you want the comforts of home away from home, with elegance, there are other hotels at better price points. …

This hotel has been upgraded majorly since the renovation. Our rooms were large, very clean and super chic. Just perfect. SPECIAL SHOUTOUT TO GABRIELLA IN GUEST SERVICES WHO IS AN ABSOLUTE ANGEL AND HELPED PUT THE CHERRY ON TOP OF OUR STAY WITH A WONDERFUL LAST MINUTE RESERVATION. She is the best!!

The Gansevoort is a must stay. The experience as a whole is wonderful. Also, the rooftop is absolutely stunning with great views of the city. The Chester is a great spot for a night cap. A huge shoutout to the director of the front office Lauren for making our trip special, and Denzel, Jason, and Marcel for also being extremely helpful.

For the price ($700 per night) I was disappointed that my room was so loud and the service in the hotel lobby restaurant was poor. We waited 30 minutes before anyone took our order. While I was waiting a large cockroach crawled past me. I personally would not go here again, very pricey for what you get.

Nice location in the heart of the meatpacking district and ok rooms. More of a family hotel then for couples or business travelers. However the service from the staff was terrible - well below what you should expect at this price range. Can’t recommend it unfortunately.

Beautifully decorated! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, and the housekeeping was completely flexible with our schedule without question as we had several morning zoom meetings! The restaurant in the lobby was delicious with a great selection, and it had great healthy options as well. It's located steps from the Starbucks roastery, Chelsea Market, and shopping! Such a fabulous NYC experience!

First - Gabriella is a dream! I miss her! My 11 year old son and I were visiting for spring break. I used to live in NYC and it was meaningful for me to bring my son there at an age where he can start to really absorb it. Not only did the staff at Gansevoort staff always treat us as if we were the only guests :)) and the most special, which feels so good! But when our flight was cancelled on our checkout day, they made it feel like no big deal to make new reservations for us and Gabriella very personally reached, so we knew if there were any more flight issues that she would make sure we were taken care of. It was such a special experience and we're so grateful to Gabriella and the entire staff. What a group. We can't wait to go back!
