Hostel has a great location, two minute walk from the 86th st subway station (BC). Good place to sleep, quiet, friendly staff. One of the cheapest places to stay in Manhattan, with the comfort of knowing that it's a youth hostel rather than one where older people can also stay, and thus feels safer. They also offer female only dorms...

This place was booked on my behalf, but I would not choose to stay here on my own accord. The beds were all a bit rickety and old, and a little bit gross, and the bathroom also wasn't great. Being unable to take luggage to the rooms made showering all that more awkward, and even changing in the mornings. I...

stayed here for 5 nights. glad i booked this hostel. best value for money and very good location if you're looking for a place to crash in. close to subway. central park. friendly staff. lounge downstairs for meals. there's a bit of a poor wi-fi signal but i wasn't there for wi-fi anyways.

The price was not expensive as compare to other hostels in Manhattan especially with its location. The hostel was a bit aged. What disappointed me was the security. I stored my luggage in the office and the staff did not require me to show any proof to retrieve it back...so don't leave any personal or valuable items inside. Also make...

I enjoyed my 8-night stay with a groep of 24 people. Perfect for inexpensive trip, the cheapest in Manhattan I guess. Close to the metro. Friendly staff and a nice kitchen. The beds are quite old, however, not uncomfortable. Strange was that we were not allowed to take our suitcases to our rooms.

Such a disappointment of a hostel. The hostel is unclean (even though you have to be out of there between 11-3 for them to clean)!! There was also no wifi, the reasoning was to promote socialising between guests, which is nice if the guest actually came down to the social area! We sat down stairs in the communal nearly every...

It wasn't a bad stay, it wasn't a brilliant stay. It's location is faultless, 1-2 blocks from a subway and is close to shops and cafes. The room's are ok but incredibly basic. I completely understand on their reasons for not having wifi but as i was there on the end of my trip, i reeeeally needed wifi to sort...

The location is just perfect, it was my first criterion to choose but I didn't regret it. The common room is great. You can read, cook, chill out as long as you want while meeting great people. The neighborhood is so victorian, it's great to walk around to most places. I would definitely recommend it!

I met there people from all over the world. Everyone is open minded and sociable. Every evening we talk about what we saw, if we recommend this places or not, we gave...

This hostel was one of the cheapest I found to stay for one night at the start of my backpacking trip around the US. Whilst being clean and well-located, it just was;t the standard that I would expect for the price in any other city. I fully expected to pay a high price in NYC, but was a bit disappointed...
