Normally I would not bother to write a negative review but I feel taken up for a ride and am not happy about this. This is possibly the most overpriced and overhyped hotel in NYC. While some argue that it's location is fabulous, it's tucked away in a depressing part of Broadway at a strip full of suitcase vendors and jewellery... More

Get a sense of the real NYC. A convenient location but not trendy like Tribeca or Soho. The rooms are unconventional... It's relaxing to watch TV from the tub in the room. The Breakfast was great > make sure to make a reservation. The neighborhood is not for up-scale designer shopping... but minutes by taxi to nearly everywhere.

Everyone from the doorman to the housekeepers are genuinely friendly. The bed was extremely comfortable, I slept great. You can not beat the location and the food in the bar, excellent. I loved the bath, the room didn't feel like another generic hotel. It's my new NYC favorite !

Recently met 2 friends for drinks & dinner here at The NOMAD HOTEL. The bar area are broken up into 3 seperate areas. The drinks were good and service was very good start to finish. I found the food to be good tho portions were a bit artsy /smallish. I ordered fish & it was a barely warm 2" square... More

First off, the neighborhood: if you're here for business in midtown, it's not a bad choice - it's central enough but on a quiet block. That said, this is one of the uglier 'hoods in the area, with Eataly being the only real highlight, esp. if it's too cold to hang out in Madison Square Park. As for the hotel... More

Amazing rooms, really stylish, lots of wardrobe space, we stayed for a week. Get a room with a roll top bath in the room. Beds super comfy. Bar was amazing. Dark and sexy but in a sophisticated way. Food is supposed to be great but we didn't eat. Please open in London!

My first impression/stay at Nomad was positive. I would certainly stay again. The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet, room service was quick, and the front desk wait was insignificant. All in all, high marks. The hotel is half a block from a subway line and a few short blocks to others. Madison Square Park is nearby as well... More

The Nomad was nice. And obviously popular among locals. The bar and restaurant was buzzing from we arrived until late at night. Hard to pinpoint anything really wrong with the hotel, except all public rooms way too dark for my taste. Rooms were quite charming. Staff was friendly. Location good. But lacked any distinct, genuine atmosphere. Just trendy, and with... More

We stayed for one night to celebrate my birthday. Our room was fantastic, the decor was so warm and interesting. They kindly upgraded us to a larger room and gave us a lovely bottle of sparkling wine for my birthday. The staff were super professional and friendly--no attitude here. Next time we will try the restaurant for dinner, we only... More

I paid about USD 500 for the room and for that price I expected more. Room (Atelier) was on the small side, but this is usual for NYC. The room was directly across the elevator, so very loud until like 2am and from 6am on, when some came or left. My recommendation - ask when checking in to avoid this.... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The NoMad Hotel is housed in a turn of the century Beaux-Arts building that has been fully restored to its original grandeur with interiors by French designer Jacques Garcia. The hotel is intended as a fresh take on the classic grand hotels of Europe with a distinct New York sensibility. The design of the hotel was inspired by the Parisian flat of Garcia’s youth. The 168 rooms are residential in feel and decorated in his classic, timeless style. Each room is appointed with hand-selected, richly textured custom-designed furnishings and original artwork. The soaring ceilings throughout the public spaces provide a fine gathering place to enjoy dining, drinking and socializing. ... more   less
