I spent four nights at the hotel earlier this month. On approach the entrance may not be obvious and it doesn't look like its the greatest area in NY but once inside the interior makes up for everything. The rooms are very stylishly done - quite a lot of exposed wood with subdued lighting. Fortunately you can adjust the lighting... More

I had looked forward to staying at The NoMad Hotel after reading about it in Monocle Magazine (a "can't miss" source of recommendations for just about everything). The hotel is a design masterpiece... my room was both visually fascinating and cozy, and, throughout my stay, I kept having little, "Wow, that's cool" moments as I noticed and appreciated various design... Our room was stylishly furnished and very comfortable. Staff is courteous and gracious and Service is impeccable. Location is excellent and although the hotel has an award winning, excellent restaurant many of the other outstanding restaurants in NYC are within walking distance. The theater district is close by and so are many other NYC attractions. The mysterious dark decor is... More

I stayed here recently for a business trip and thought this was a really refreshing hotel in New York. The rooms are all slightly more quirky with a bath and the dining area is in a courtyard in the centre of the hotel. There are also a great couple of bars within the hotel. If you need to be in... Just spent a week at the Nomad - corner of Broadway and Tin Pan Alley (28th). Room was stylish, intelligently equipped and exceedingly comfortable. Service was gracious and immediate - not inexpensive but good value considering all that is provided. Especially reserved the library bar that is reserved for hotel guests in the evenings. Location was perfect for the subway... More

I travel not infrequently to Ny for work, and I'm a typically a Starwood points person. But for the Nomad, I'm willing to give up the points. I've stayed twice, and will absolutely stay again in the future. For me, it's the design that gets me. It's dark, mysterious, elegant and sexy (definitely not good for someone who needs light/bright)... More

I first stayed at The Nomad the week that it opened and I was amazed by how flawlessly the hotel was operating in just a few days. I loved the ambience and decor, and my only complaint was that the hotel didn't offer rooms with two beds so it was less appealing if traveling with a friend or an adult... More

I'm amazed at how this neighborhood has been gentrified. Still have the strange perfume shops across the street but the whole area looks much different. Excellent bar and restaurant and the rooms are perfect. Shower and bathroom also very nice. I have stayed a couple of times and will continue to be a top pick. Slept very well both times... More

Really enjoyed our stay in this classy hotel. It's in a great location for exploring Manhattan. The decor is very tastefully finished and the staff very helpful and friendly. We were upgraded to a room with views of the Empire State which was a really nice touch. The bars and restaurant are excellent and an added bonus of staying here.... More

The NoMad is an elegant and classy boutique luxury hotel in midtown just above the Flatiron district. It's decorated with old world charm, but with all of the modern touches one should expect of a NYC boutique luxury hotel. The theme seems to be 'accomplished world traveler' - think wood trunks, eclectic travel collections, wrought iron, etc. The rooms are... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The NoMad Hotel is housed in a turn of the century Beaux-Arts building that has been fully restored to its original grandeur with interiors by French designer Jacques Garcia. The hotel is intended as a fresh take on the classic grand hotels of Europe with a distinct New York sensibility. The design of the hotel was inspired by the Parisian flat of Garcia’s youth. The 168 rooms are residential in feel and decorated in his classic, timeless style. Each room is appointed with hand-selected, richly textured custom-designed furnishings and original artwork. The soaring ceilings throughout the public spaces provide a fine gathering place to enjoy dining, drinking and socializing. ... more   less
