Adam! What a guy. Very nice and has a great birthday. Our room is great for the price and the location seems good. No blow dryer, but seems like we have everything else. Good view, fitness center, free wifi, what more could you need?
From the moment we arrived check-in with Adam was an absolute breeze! He was super friendly and helpful. When we had a question about the tv and called the front desk he really went above and beyond to make sure we were all connected and taken care of.
Had a very nice stay at the Wyndham Garden Chinatown. Room (1005) was comfortable and clean with a lovely view of the Empire State Building. Aircon was a godsend as its pretty hot in July and even more so during a heatwave - so was nice to return following a day's sightseeing. Staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive if you needed clean towels etc. Nice internal roof terrace bar with a couple of bars/restaurant on the ground floor. Really central for getting about Chinatown/Bowery - LES with plenty metro stations nearby. Will definitely return if staying down the Bowery again.
Excellent overall experience during my stay! My room was upgraded upon check in (the higher floor had great views!) and all of my questions and concerns were addressed in a quick, efficient manner. Tiffany was very helpful :) Will hopefully be returning to this location in the near future
The staff is great, the location is fantastic, the room was clean with a great view and overall it was a very nice stay but the rooms are also a bit worn. I just can't give it four stars. The minifridge wasn't working so someone came up and had to fix it. The air conditioner dripped water into the carpet. Some of the walls had scuff marks on them. As I said, the staff was super accommodating but I think the rooms just need a bit of a refresher. I got my room on discount on priceline so maybe they also give the crappier rooms to people who purchase cheap? I would stay there again, just lower my expectations slightly.
Clean rooms, great customer service Bowery restaurant and bar has good food. Teado across the street Best herbal tea evvveerrrr. 18th and 19th floor are breath taking especially at night. Over good place to stay.
Where do I begin? I love the location because it is close to some of my favorite neighborhoods, LES, Chinatown and Soho. I mean you could literally walk to any of those neighborhoods from this location. So it's perfect in that sense. Truly. The staff Saturday afternoon was more than friendly with helping me check in. However after that this is where things go awry. After checking into my room I turned on the AC to cool the room off (special shout out to the gentleman at the front desk who upgraded my room, I had spectacular views of NYC!) I unpacked my bag and then went to grab something to eat. I figured about time I came back the room would be cool to my liking. So I go downstairs to grab something to eat as I was hungry. The bartender was friendly but not attentive at all and it was probably because it was STIFFLING in the said area with no AC only industrial fans blowing hot air around. The lobster tacos were okay but they tasted like imitation crab meat instead of lobster. Now onto the wings the wings were bussin! But seriously $14 dollars for some wings should be a crime. I got one cocktail, 6 wings, 2 lobster tacos and a diet coke and it was $50. Talk about highway robbery. So I go back to my room to take a shower and a nap before heading out. Can someone please tell me why on earth was my room hotter than before I left. I was attempting to get ready and couldn't stop sweating. Cause it was so blasted hot in there. So I called the front desk and they sent someone up to my room the young man was nice. He says "oh you're AC isn't working either?" He took a look at the unit and offered to give a fan to help cool the room, which I thought was nice. However I want a billion dollar corporation to explain to me why the AC wasn't working in guests rooms but the lobby was cool and pleasant. It was literally one of the hottest days of the year and on record and to be in a room that was damn near on the top floor with a barely functioning AC was criminal. I mean if you enjoy sweating while sleeping and getting ready this just might be the place for you. Other than that don't stay here during a heatwave cause you'll be SOL. …
For our entire stay, only one of the two elevators was working. They claimed they would not clean our room because of covid precautions. The door and walk between the bathroom and the room are glass which offers the chance for you to really get to know the people you are with. The fridge was frozen solid and the air conditioning kept the temperature at a steady warm temp.
Very conveniently located - we walked/took the subway almost everywhere! Most of the front desk staff was super helpful and friendly. Stopped in to the bar one late afternoon and had tasty chicken wings and beer - yum!
The location was ideal and why we originally chose this location. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms were a little muggy and wished there was a door on the shower. We would stay there again and would recommend if you are looking for a nice place to stay in NY without breaking the bank.
