The hotel overbooked me for my stay so I ended up elsewhere, but I'll share my non-room related experiences. The lobby is the smallest I've ever seen but everything was modern and in good shape. The bar in the hotel's first floor was very cool and seemed popular. The staff were very helpful and courteous and despite this experience I... More

My wife and I just completed a NYC/New England road trip. We booked basically everything as we went along. For booking last minute and being in Times Square, I thought the price was unbeatable. There are so many things within walking distance of Shocard. No need for taxis, and the only time we even took the subway was to the... More

I stayed at Hotel Shocard on 7/20/16 for the first time. It was wonderful! Great location and excellent customer service! Great newly renovated guest rooms, very large for NYC. Will definitely be staying here again! Goof restaurant attached. Mike

We stayed here for 5 nights and had a great experience. The hotel is new and could be very good with a little improvement. Good: Location is pretty much in times Square so if your into all of that crap (we weren't) then you won't find a better spot. Very close to times square and Bryant park subway stations, theatres... James F, Thank you for the feedback and we would love to see you again! We are making final adjustments, particularly with the noise that comes from the surrounding buildings. July is a great time, as it is a slower month overall, to catch some hotel deals in NYC. Another tip - January and February is even better for those... More

Great hotel, staff and location! This is a small hotel. The lobby, rooms and bathrooms are tiny. However, everything is well designed and they make great use of all of the available space. Rooms were newly renovated and we're very clean. The hot water was HOT and endless, a must for my wife. The staff were all amazing! They always... More

Steve T - we so appreciate the recommendation! I'm so glad that you enjoyed your trip with us and that you discovered Hell's Kitchen. Hell's Kitchen is a great area for a ton of eateries and offers an alternative experience to the big chain restaurants in Times Square. More

We stayed for just one night and found the location perfect. It is walking distance to Times Square and other nearby attractions. The room was however on the smaller side but didn't bother us as we just need the room for a nights sleep. We stayed in 202 and the room was noisy due to the air con unit outside... More

Whitney was so helpful! She helped me find my way to Peter Luger Steak House with great directions! The staff took such good care of me and were part of making my first trip ever to NYC so unforgettable. I will stay there again when I go back!

Hotel just along from Bryant Park, central for Time Square, Empire State, Rockerfeller & Central Park. Stayed there as a family in room 702 which was absolutely amazing, great sized room for four of us with a roof terrace which was a nice surprise. Hotel was really comfortable & hotel staff were extremely friendly. Will definitely stay here again.

Absolutely great time, super friendly and helpful staff. Very close to Times Square, couldn't have worked out better! There is a small pub within the hotel (Gleasons Tavern) which had great service and very goo food.

I stayed at the Hotel Shocard for 2 nights, I was checked in by Leon who was great, I really felt welcome by him. The room was clean and I loved the look of the hotel. I had a late dinner and on my arrival back to the hotel I met Nathaniel the overnight front desk agent, He welcome me... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
