Way too noisy!! I am on the 44th floor and I could hear all kinds of noise and it’s 1130 at night I’m hearing the noise from Times Square it sounds like there’s a protest going on and it’s very disruptive. I also can hear the people through the walls talking and also when they turn on their shower it sounds like I’m turning on the shower in my room it’s that loud. The room is small and like some of the other says it doesn’t really cool off. I was excited to stay at the W but it’s just not the same as other Ws
Only stay at this property if you don't mind the loud party noise. The crowd and siren are very loud until 2-3 am. The breakfast choice is very limited. The room is small but clean. The shower will drip for 30 minutes after you turn it off. You might find the lotions were leftover from the previous guest ( they supposed to replace them).
Staff is not trained in the W way of guest service. Also our room is hot and no one seems to care— the hallway is cooler than our room even though we have the AC at 65 and on high. Today I went to the front desk and there was a VERY long line of guests waiting to check in with 3 women helping ONE line. Since I’m checked in, all I needed to do was add a guest to my reservation. I asked the concierge for help (once he showed up) and he couldn’t help me. He took me to the front desk as Thomas at the front desk came out to help. I asked Thomas if I could add a guest and he told me to wait in the check in line….it’s a check in line for CHECKING IN. There should be someone to help with OTHER requests. I told him if I called from my room I could do it too, and he rudely told me “yes what would be quicker.” I’ve been to 84 countries and never has service so rude. I went to my room, Thomas answered and made the addition. That was RIDICULOUS. I’m checking out from my 102 degree room in a few days and won’t be back.…
Absolute worst W I have ever stayed in. Planned trip for our 13 year old daughter’s for birthdays. It was tiny, dark and musty. Room that supposedly was an upgrade was so tiny and terrible. So bad that we canceled room and moved hotels. First I have ever had to do that. And before I did I told them how I am titanium and they said the room we had was best they could do. Stay anywhere else if you care about space lighting and cleaning!
First, the positives: the staff was pleasant and seemed to be customer-service oriented. Obviously the hotel location in Times Square is convenient for theater-goers, and the room was relatively clean. But the bathroom situation was unacceptable: there is only frosted glass dividing the bathroom from the bedroom, so there is absolutely no privacy. After checking in and discovering the situation, we went back downstairs to request a change. We were told all of the rooms in the hotel were the same, designed with frosted-glass bathrooms, and that basically there was nothing they could do to address the situation. It seems impossible to believe that other guests have not complained about this and that the hotel offers no solution. Because of this, we will never return and will be sure to share this info with others who ask for recommendations.…
Decided to stay a W New York - Times Square since it was close to Times Square and offered good views of the city. Also, it was within walking distance of places we planned to visit. The hotel is very nice but showed some wear and tear in some areas. Check-in staff was excellent. He provide me great parking options and was very pleasant. We had a suite which was very nice. Only complaint was the pull out sofa bed was not comfortable at all. In my experience, most sofa beds are not too comfortable anyway, but the one in our room had a visible sag in the middle when pulled out. Tried sleeping on it the first night but it was not good. I had to move to the adjoining chaise lounge, which was more comfortable and slept on this for our 3 night stay. Maybe a new firmer mattress would do the trick for the sofa bed in this room. The bed in the adjoining room was just fine. Bathrooms were roomy for New York. TV's and electrical outlets were plentiful. The view from our windows were also very nice. Rooms were really quiet and we didn't even notice if anyone else was on our floor. Overall, had a great stay at W and would stay again on a future visit.…
Planned a family getaway and was excited about staying at the W Hotel. What a disappointment! Rooms are in need of a renovation and deep cleaning. Moldy, dirty bathroom and overall dusty and in need of cleaning. Simply disappointing and shocked at the condition of the rooms.
Tiny rooms, terrible space, dark rooms, terrible amenities and also very noisy. Totally a shock to what the photos look like. We paid extra to be in this hotel for its name/brand, however very disappointed when we arrived. Staff are nice, good location.
I usually don’t stay at Ws and never at Time Square. But I had to few weeks ago for several reasons. Very pleasantly surprised. Got upgraded to a 46th floor corner room with amazing views of the city and Hudson River (platinum member). Very roomy and quiet. Fun lounge on the 7th floor - Patrick makes amazing French martinis. Seriously… for a very reasonable rate (for NYC) - pretty perfect. Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making it wonderful.
We arrived expecting from online pics and description to have a room with Times Square views. I paid extra for this room. This room was the worst for views. I could see other hotels but not Times Square. It has a weird entrance and lobby dark and not very inviting to sit and enjoy the hotel. There was a strange graffiti area , not sure what that was about. I had to reach over a built in desk to see the street below and I saw a building under construction. I paid alot extra to this room with views. It was very disappointing. The bathroom has glass walls and my daughter took a shower and the door was stuck. If I was not there she would not be able to get out. I understand the hotel was renovated but it is terrible. The views are everything and they did a terrible job. They need restaurant that is much better and elegant. I am a big Marriott Bonvoy memeber and I would not stay here again.…
