The Ritz Carlon is very well located on Battery pak with nice view on the harbour rooms are confortable but needs refurbishment to meet five stars properties like the Peninsula there is no decent spa and the gym equipment is poor would still recommend the hotel as the staff is very friendly and prices are affordable

Amy and I brought our three girls (15, 5, and 4) to a fast and furious tour of the City for the Memorial Day weekend... and chose to stay at the Ritz Battery Park for Saturday night. We got a huge suite on the 3rd floor. While it did not face the Statue of Liberty, all else was grand and...

If you're used to mid-town, staying down south gives a whole new perspective to New York. The hotel is high quality (same level as any four seasons or ritz carlton anywhere). Very clean, modern, great food and great service. The linnen, towels, carpet and furniture is new and well kept. The hotel staff is great and the view is fantastic....

We stay here every time we are in NY and always have a great experience. Front desk clerk Lee is very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, this stay we had someone who not only put us in a room with two doubles when we specifically booked a room with a king bed (he was then annoyed with s because we wouldn't...

by saying that the ritz in battery park nyc is better than the highest standard, it tells you what you need to know. The rooms are spotless, the view over the harbour to the statue of liberty, the proximity to all that battery park has to offer, every staff member we talked to from the front door, Kevin, to the...

We have almost always stayed uptown in previous visits to NYC, but if your stay is largely going to be centered south of the Village, this is a very good alternative. Battery Park City is a quiet, residential area, and it's a reasonable walk not only to Wall Street but also to Tribeca and even Soho and the Village. As...

Great view of the harbor. Loved having the telescope to look at The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. It is away from the chaos common to the rest of the island, so we like it as a perfect spot to decompress at the end of a day. It is perfectly positioned for any transportation you care to use in...

This hotel is ideal for business with easy access to Wallstreet and adjoining businesses. Had a huge corner room, although missed the harbor view. Nice bathroom with separate room for toilet and shower. The fitness facilities are nice and clean. Restaurant is a bit small and inadequate for what you would expect for Ritz Carlton, although the food and drinks...

We had a huge room which you don't get to say often in NYC. We didn't get a harbor view but truly a massive room. Very comfortable and might have been the best nights sleep I've ever had in a hotel. Staff was great, food was good but being near battery park doesn't do it for me. It would be...

The hotel was very nice. We received a room upgrade to a 1 -bedroom suite which had a beautiful view of Lady Liberty. The brunch at the restaurant was very good. Ask for the pretzel rolls with the honey-mustard butter.

Lausanne, Switzerland

Hi all,

I'm a bit up in the air here as to the Battery Park Ritz and figured I might ask a few questions & share a few thoughts.

2 adults, 2 children (3&7) booked into a 1 bedroom liberty view club level suite

I'm a bit worried as to transport times & distance. Out of 5 days in NY I can't imagine we'll be in the Battery park area more than 1 or 2. Cost isn't really an issue compared to a 30 minute trip with a tired & cranky 3 yo. Any young families out there that have tried it out?

How good are the Statue of Liberty views? In some photos they look pretty decent while in others lady liberty looks like an ant out on the horizon. Honestly, the view is the main reason I'd take the Battery Park property over Central Park. We just got back from the Ritz Tokyo & had a wonderful city view from a 53rd floor corner suite. Even if I could find a hotel in NY that commanded such views, I would like to have my daughters remember NY a bit differently (one view overlooking a city is pretty much the same as another to young children right?).

Are there really no coffee machines in the rooms? I can't remember the last time I stayed at a hotel without an in-room Nespresso or Lavassa machine & this includes smaller 4* boutique hotels. A bit minimalistic for a high end luxury 5* isn't it?

Any truth to a lack of bathroom amenities? I expect 4*s (and lower 5*s) to stock tooth brushes/razors/sewing kits, etc. on property but properties such as the Ritz should have such things in-room & replenish them when used.

How is this property with kids? What in-room amenities were given for the kids (crayons/colouring books/children's soaps/children's toothbrushes/stuffed ritz lion/etc.)?

Better yet... What were the adult 'welcome amenities" (i.e. welcome card & chocolates)?

Thanks in advance.
