First time in NY. The hotel was in a great location enabling us to find our way around and back with ease. The female staff on reception are all very helpful and welcoming. The hotel is very dated and has a musty smell, old fashioned window air conditioners and old wooden doors with original key locks. Don't expect modern amenities... More

I paid approx £206 per night for 3 nights here and to be honest it was nothing special. First impressions was it reminded me of my nans house and smelt of cabbage. The lift was painfully slow but the staff were welcoming. The rooms were plenty big enough with plenty of towels and toiletry changes, however the fact it was... More

First time at this location, which was ideal around all the activities in the area. The best part was it was quiet away from most of the busy streets. It was a little larger than many of the older downtown hotels. Not the best price, but none are in Sept.

I went to a wedding held there this weekend, the location is great for walking from St. Patrick's Cathedral. Cocktail hour has a stunning view outside of the chapel and NYC. Reception hall is beautiful, lovely decor. Food presentation was done very well and was delicious. The service was great. Only downfall was the restrooms were located one floor down.

Had to run up to NYC for an overnight stay to meet friends. They actually booked this hotel for me and I could not have been happier. Very old-world elegant and the people at the front desk could not have been more professional/charming. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Nice quite location. Older hotel but very quaint. Great service. No shorts, jeans or flip flops allowed in dining area. Men must wear a jacket for dinner. Right across from Rockefeller Center. Great location to walk anywhere.

First the bad, I didn't love the front dest staff (a little surly) and the rooms are well worn. Now the good. We stayed in two rooms, one with two twins beds and one with a king bed. The beds themselves were very comfortable and donned nice linens and pillows. The rooms aren't huge but who is staying here to... More

Location great, Rock Center. Service fine, front desk responsive. Rooms of moderate size and clean. Only criticism is that the facilities are well worn, and daily rate reflects this fact. Needed renovations will probably boost daily rate significantly; therefore "get what you pay for."

Very few rooms here but large by Manhattan standards. Huge bathroom. Still use brass key rings and real keys. Spotless room, window air unit which was very cool. Coffee maker in room and wifi worked very well. No other amenities but who stays in the room in NYC. Bar and pub is no jeans or shorts but several great places... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
