Arrived at this hotel and given incorrect room that stank of cannabis and you could barely get around the tiny double bed, let alone swing a cat. Proceeded back down to reception armed with evidence of our booked room type , clearly showing photos and stating a room of 32m2 , to which the very surly receptionist just disregarded and said “that is what booking.com have booked for you”. She was an Absolute waste of space. Thankfully, we are not easily fobbed off and were eventually given the correct room after a good 5 or 6 minutes of arguing , much to the dismay of the rather ‘worried’ queue of people that had formed at check in!! Luckily our room had its climate control unit left on the wall , so we were able to turn the very noisy air conditioner on / off as required and not require the ‘engineer’ to do it as previously mentioned in reviews. However , that’s as good as it got , absolutely filthy carpets (that despite managements claim of numerous deep cleans - haven’t been touched) and dust in the corners that were a lot more than would accrue in the six weeks since the hotel re opened after its stint as a covid homeless shelter. Again, quite lucky compared to others in that we had only one cigarette burn on the furniture and despite the shocking lifts never had to use the stairs , although we did get stuck between floors on one occasion for a couple of minutes. Lastly , bar and restaurant are still indeed closed and staggeringly though are still advertised as open on a poster as you enter the hotel. Now if that’s not poor management I really don’t know what is!!! If they can’t even take a poster down then don’t expect clean carpets or working lifts anytime soon!…
Just basic hotel, clean rooms and sanitary facilities. Good base for a multi-day visit to Manhattan. Only downside was that the elevators regularly didn't work properly. For the rest reasonable price-quality ratio for New York standards.
Could be great - so much to improve -Radisson should close to customers until the basics can be gotten right. Understand the place will be refurbed in the short to medium term. In the mean time tell the true situation on all websites where rooms can be booked. The carpet is very stained - it could be cleaned and the web site could indicate it’s intention to refurb in future - that carpet has been cleaned however areas are worn. On the AC staff should know which room have controls and not - they should ensure rooms being utilised by guests for the first time have the AC working at a given temperature and let guests at checkin know they can request it be altered if they feel the temp is too high or low. Fix all the lifts so that when one goes down guests are not forced to climb the stairs when all 3 went down as happened today. I have seen reviews that indicate this hotel has no comforters or blankets. I am sad to say that this is likely to be true. We are on night 7 of an 8 night stay and I have not managed to secure a blanket or comforter in that time. The bed had 1 top sheet , when I asked for a comforter or blanket I got a 2nd top sheet. After a few nights of being too cold I again asked on night 6 if I could have a blanket and I got a comforter cover - just the cover no comforter. I was thrilled called reception to thank them. Getting back to our room tonight I see that housekeeping have removed that additional cover. As the lift is down reception cannot advise at what point I can have that cover or a blanket delivered to my room. The staff are very pleasant and try their very best to help - but if the lifts are all broken and the hotel has no blankets there isn’t an awful lot they can do. Housekeeping work hard - just wish they had not removed by comforter cover. The hotel location is so great - for sightseeing or business in the are. Please close to guests until you bring this up place up to some standard - or quickly take action to clean the place - especially the common area - housekeeping in room very good , fix all 3 lifts - we just had to climb 20 flights of stairs to the 10th floor ( so happy we are not higher up ) open the restaurant/ bar , fix the accessible lift at the front door , fix the water stations on each floor , get blankets for goodness sake and explain the carpet and AC issues at checkin . It’s such a pity that staff have to endure guest issues when management ( Radisson) can take action to help them bring a better guest experience. I have stayed on Radisson hotels in quiet a few location globally and the Radisdon standards are absolutely not being applied here.…
Visited for a 5 night stay. As most have mentioned, there are major problems with air conditioning. There is also no access to drinking water across the whole hotel and no complimentary water. You spent most of your trip waiting on elevator due to only one lift working across the 19 floors. They also made various mistakes with our rooms/bill which added more stress than needed.
This hotel is completely not as advertised. Radisson is usually a trusted brand, but something has completely missed the mark here. They have 3 elevators when we arrived 1 barely worked, now none of them work. Having to climb up and down 7 flights of stairs is tiresome for the best of us. The bathroom when we arrived was covered in cigarette burns, making the seat look stained. The carpets in room are covered in all sorts of stains. The ac unit doesn’t work, makes a lot of noise but doesn’t actually appear to cool. The location is okay but truly that’s the only thing that it has going for it. Avoid this place at all costs.
All the booking.com and their own sides photos and infos are lying to you. Hotel needs big repairs before you really should visit there. Hole hotel is dirty, air condition in the rooms are NOT working and having very very aful noice, bugs in rooms, shower took forever to warm up. No restaurant working right now. They took reviews of from booking.com because it was something horrible to read… that tells you enough about this place.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating, we travelled with 3 other couples and they ensured our rooms were close together. AC in my room did not work. No panel on wall to adjust temperature, 1 other couple I was traveling with had this issue as well but other two couples had control panels and cool air worked. Engineer came to our room two days in a row to lower temperature but it did nothing so we gave up. Only one of three elevators were working during our 5 night stay, and the one elevator that was operating was constantly glitching, doors not closing or getting stuck on floors. This was frustrating. Had a few cold showers as well. If you shower late at night or early in the morning you need to run the water for 10 minutes or more to start getting any warm water. Floors in rooms very dirty and worn out. Hotel was used as a shelter during pandemic but many NYC hotels were as well, many of them high end so this fact did not bother me. However, the AC unit, cold water, elevator and condition of the carpet in the room did.…
A horrible experience! - Had to ask to move rooms due to the first being so stained, dirty and the AC so loud - Moved to a room which had a constant smell of urine - AC has to be adjusted by maintenance manually - Water machine on floor didn't work - Coffee machine in room didn't work - Phone in room didn't work - Pathetic shower pressure - A lot of bugs - Unhelpful staff - No replies to messages to management Avoid staying here!
Breakfast and bar facilities were advertised although both were permanently closed during our stay. There was scaffolding around the building with work ongoing. Carpet was badly stained and we were unable to manually adjust AC therefore had to arrange for maintenance to do this. Chilled water was advertised as being in our floor but obviously hadn’t been working for some time
No bar restaurant, cold shower dodgy lift, fusty lobby. That said great location, comfy bed. Staff friendly but not accommodating. Moved our room as mould on the ceiling but just the same. Would not recommend as needs some tlc
