I have stayed at the Dylan numerous times and it is a really cozy hotel. The Benjamin Steakhouse that is attached makes for incredible room service. The location is great. It is literally across the street from Grand Central Station. I will continue staying here.

When we arrived in our room, we saw that it was spacious and comfy, however the cleaners could have done a better job and the bathroom was OK but needed better maintenance. We asked to have a nice view but were given a view of a brick wall. Then, when we arrived back from a nice evening dinner, we saw... More

I spent here 5 nights on a business trip, I guess my second visit after a few years. I guess the best thing of the hotel is its location. It's just 300m from Grand Central station, less than 500 from NY Public Library, whereas Time Square and the Theater District are about a 10 min walk, same as the Empire... More

My first and last boutique hotel. Rooms tiny, only one light works, air broken, no tub, no drawers on the desk, only openings where the drawers are supposed to be. Way better beds in a Sleep Inn! No bell boy, everyone has poor English.

My daughter and I went to celebrate my birthday and we stayed at this hotel. What a great location, We were able to walk to Central Park, Time Square, Grand Central Station. The rooms were clean and roomy and the price was reasonable. I do recommend that if you drive to pay for valet parking and walk or use the... More

If you're looking for a quaint, unpretentious hotel near Grand Central, Empire State Building, the library, 5th Avenue and that also boast one of the best steakhouses in the city, then this is your spot! The Dylan (located in the old Chemist building between Madison and Park on 41st Street) is a boutique hotel with great service and atmosphere. The... More

I travel to NY (from AZ) a few times each year on business, and I generally expect to spend a lot (of money) for a little (room"). I stayed at the Dylan for 4 nights in 9/15, and it fit that description. There were, however, a few things worth mentioning. First, the location was great. It's about 500 feet from... More

We've stayed a number of times at the Dylan. It is often reasonably priced, and the location is practical. It is around the corner from Grand Central and the NY Public Library, a fairly easy walk to Broadway. The rooms are spacious, and high-ceilinged. The heating system dates from mid-last century, with no in-room thermostat. There are nowhere near enough... More

It was very disappoinging. The carpets in the room were dark blue and the curtains were dirty. The room was dark and there is a window but I believe we were facing a wall so no light was coming in... The carpet was dirty. The toilet bowl has stains and shower got molds in it. The soap dish was a... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
