Several days ago my wife and I stayed at the Dylan Hotel NYC. It was very convenient location-right in the center of New York City where we could walk to Times Square, Empire State Building, NY Public Library... It also was very helpful that right on the corner was a Starbucks. And it wwas next to The Benjamin Steakhouse -high...

Easy in an out, well maintained hotels and larger than average rooms for Manhattan standards. Friendly and helpful staff. Lots of eating options just around the block. Grand Central is a great place to hang out when the weather is bad, including a chance to walk about

Arrived on Friday end of March, and seriously question why I booked this place. From pictures and other reviews I guessed it would have been good. Or decent at least, but no I wouldn't come back to this place. I entered and no one noticed me despite two people behind the reception. One girl barely spoke English and didn't understand...

Central location, but still in an area that's not too noisy and busy. The service was good and I found all staff to be friendly and helpful. Would stay again and recommend to others. I found we got a lot of value for the price. It's an excellent spot to explore NY from and the room was more than comfortable.

A long delayed posting on my NYE visit to NYC and the Dylan. Great location, wonderful and helpful staff. Very nice room and yes, update should be coming but comfortable and nice marble bathroom with walk in shower. I was pleasantly surprised to return to my room on New Year's Eve and find the housekeeper had hand written me a...

This hotel needs a revamp now. Lobby dimly lite and shabby. Front desk employees unfriendly and seemed irritated. Room and bathroom dirty and dinghy. Great location but would not stay there again unless they renovate

Very central, only about 10 minutes from Times Square. New York is at your feet as soon as you step out. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are clean. We did not eat at the restaurant in the hotel but it seemed nice. We would stay again.

This was in a great location. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was large and cold but was provided a space heater. The TV channels were not the best variety but we weren't there to just sit in our room and watch TV.

I just checked in today for a 4 night business stay. First room was a dark hole. with little to no light. Basically uninhabitable. 2nd room was better but sterile and just odd. 3rd room 15th floor small room, furnishings falling apart and cheap but huge floor to ceiling windows (finally natural light). Front desk staff very nice and accommodating...

We stayed in Dylan hotel for a week. The location is great, very close to the Grand Central, 5th Avenue and in walking distance from Times Square. The staff was very nice and very welcoming. The room was large was clean. Breakfast was a free buffet and very tasty. We highly recommend this place.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Dylan Hotel in Manhattan unites tradition and modernity exquisitely and with a contemporary elegance that captivates our guests. The building is very emblematic, first having been the residence of the Welsh writer, Dylan Thomas, and later the headquarters of the New York Pharmacists Club. The Dylan Hotel combines the classical lounges and guest rooms of the period with ambiances and areas in contemporary design. We are a non-stop hotel, because the Big Apple never stops. For this reason, the gym and the business centre are open 24 hours a day. ... more   less
