Very central location... and that's it. Avoid the Muse The room was comfortable and I slept okay. Just a slew of negatives after that. No food or drink, something I was not told until I checked in and asked if breakfast was included. I was told coffee would be available from 6am in the lobby and that's it. I saw guests going out and bringing back McDonalds. Not what you'd expect from a $600+ per night hotel. My shower head wasn't working properly - probably needed rescaling. I asked reception to fix it. The receptionist made a note but nothing happened. The following morning I asked for it to be fixed again but again, nothing happened and there was no communication. I complained when I checked out and the manager emailed me to say that he had taken $100 off my $2,700 bill.

Nice hotel and comfortable staff very friendly, but no bar or restaurant as advertised which was very disappointing. No coffee or tea making facilities in room as advertised. If you want better home comforts then best go elsewhere.

We stayed here as a group of 4 old school friends, The rooms were excellent, showers were brilliant. This is well placed for mid town Manhattan, and down to lower Manhattan. We had a great 5 days , that will stay in our memories. Staff are bonus to your place.

A belated review for our stay at the beginning of October. My Husband and myself and two friends stayed for 1 week. Had a brilliant stay at this hotel when it was a Kimpton, and not disappointed with our recent stay. All of the staff were fantastic, especially Daniel, who we spoke with most evenings. Also the lady who checked us in (sorry, didn't get your name) and gave us a lovely quiet room. The room was very spacious and very clean (Thank you room service) Lovely bathroom with big shower and always plenty of hot water. Beds and pillows were super comfi too. Coffee in the lobby on a morning was very good and we also requested a kettle which was supplied quickly. The location is excellent for Times Square (without all of the noise) and also for subways. Lots of eating places nearby and also a little supermarket. The Irish Bar just near the Hotel was very reasonably priced and the food was very good. Steak and egg for breakfast was amazing. If you venture out as far as Brighton Beach The Ocean View Cafe was very good food and reasonably priced. For a special meal Cipriani Dolci at Grand Central Terminal was exceptional. Would certainly stay here again, 1st choice. A big thank you also to the gentlemen who got us taxis. They were always very quick and efficient and always had a smile and a greeting as you came in or out. Thank you The Muse you helped make 2 special occasions very special

Excellent 4 night stay at the Muse Hotel visiting from the UK. Rooms were great, very clean and the hotel was well maintained. We were provided with Tea making facilities in the room on request. Very little outside or inside noise ( although AC was a little noisy, but no more than other hotels we have stayed in) . Beds were SUPER comfy! All hotel staff were very polite and helpful, especially Daniel on reception. Hotel is located in a fantastic location just 100 yards from Times Square & theatre district and close to a number of subway stations. Would defiantly recommend staying at the Muse !

I'll start with the positives but sadly, there were way too many negatives about this hotel! + Great location for Broadway and the theatre district. + Room was nicely furnished and clean. + Bed linens and pillows were nice and bed was comfortable. + Was able to get an early check-in. Negatives: - Definitely NOT worth the cost ($431/ night incl. taxes and nightly property charge) and certainly NOT a premier hotel! Does not live up to the Kimpton standards in any way! - No notification ahead of time about the construction and no attempt to compensate or apologize for the unsightly and dreadfully dismal condition of the lobby. - The A/C unit is very loud when the fan runs. - Electrical outlets didn't work in rhe nightstands and I had to re- connect lamps and lighting and move plugs around to get lights working properly. - No vending machine on property. - No change at the front desk for a $20. - Coffee only available certain hours and none after mid morning. - No coffee machine in the room. - Security seemed very lax. Anyone can enter the hotel without the front desk even noticing them. - Front desk staff not very friendly and definitely didn't make me feel like a valued customer. - I requested a hairdryer to replace the broken one to get ready for a show, but none was delivered so I had to go to the show without doing my hair. Very disappointing! Because of all these negatives, I was extremely unhappy with this hotel and cannot recommend it. Based on the star rating I was hoping to surprise my son on our annual Broadway trip with an outstanding hotel and all I got was disappointment!

As a native New Yorker who usually prefers to stay outside of Times Square when in town, The Muse exceeded my expectations for a recent work event I traveled for. The front desk staff was super friendly—and Angel C. in security went above and beyond to ship a delayed package for me that arrived at the hotel after my stay. He really helped me out! I would 100% stay here again —the location is easy to get to and from (especially if flying in/out of JFK) and surprisingly quiet, and the Mexican restaurant next door is small, but the best margarita and guac I have had in a long time!

I am reviewing the Muse hotel in Manhattan New York City. Me and my wife stayed there for our annual long weekend in New York. We are New York City natives that now live in New Hampshire. In the past we have stayed at the Hard Rock hotel, the Marriot Marquis, and the Grand Hyatt at Grand Central (when it was the Grand Hyatt). It is those hotels that we often use for comparison. We were there from Saturday September 9th through Wednesday morning. The service was excellent. Everyone was friendly. There is valet parking. There is some construction going on at the time we were there. The room is small for the price. As we found at the Hard Rock, there are only a few draws to store our things. There is a closet with plenty of hangars. We had learned our lesson from our stay at the Hard rock and brought extra hangars. There is a small refrigerator in the room. There is no full-length mirror. The room was clean. The two windows were 5 feet off the ground. Probably measuring 5 feet by 4 feet each, so the room did not have as much natural light as we would have liked. Nevertheless, the room was well lit. We were on the 6th floor and there was not much of a view. The bathroom included a sink, shower, and toilet and the door completely closed. The shower was spacious and the water pressure was excellent. There is a 3-inch step over to get into the shower. The shower is about 3 ft by 5 ft in diameter. The bed was firm, but soft enough for my wife. It was comfortable. WE did not hear any noise from our neighbors but outside noise was present including trucks and occasional loud music. Air conditioning was excellent (the temperature was in the 80s). There is no restaurant in the building. There is no coffee maker in the room. There is a complimentary coffee station in the Lobby. We were led to believe that there will be a restaurant in the building after construction is complete. Unlike most of the hotels we have been to in the past decade, there is no card swipe in the elevator, to prevent a non-guest from going upstairs. However room keys are card swipes. The elevators were quick with almost no wait. There were 2 USB ports, and 2 AC outlets in the desk. Internet was free, available, but unsecured. There is a 40 inch TV. We enjoyed our stay here. The hotel has a nice feel to. We did not use the work out center. The location was great. We were ½ block from Times square. There were plenty of restaurants within 300 feet of the front door. This hotel is comparable to the Hard Rock hotel although that one is newer. We liked the layout of the room at the Muse better than the Hard Rock. The Muse could use more drawers to store clothes. The rooms are bigger with more places for storage at the Marriott Marquis. The Muse is an expensive hotel given the size of the room we were in. Nevertheless, we were comfortable. It served its purpose.

There are currently some restoration works on-going in the lobby area of the hotel, however staff are very apologetic about the disturbances! We stayed in a king corner room on the 6th floor which was clean, tidy, had all the advertised amenities and the worlds most comfiest bed! The location of the hotel was brilliant just around the corner from Times Square, lots of restaurants and subway stations. I cannot fault anything about my stay and would 10/10 recommend this hotel to others!
