Ray Wong & the rest of the Dream/Tao team made my dinner experience amazing! I was hosting friends from out of town and the surprise dessert boat & carrot cake really tipped the experience over the edge. Great to see the collaboration between the hotel/food & beverage team!
We were recommended this hotel by Booking.com and I need to post this as I don’t want another family suffering the same fate. It’s not for family it’s a pretentious hang out with night club built into it. This hotel had a party till 4am with music so loud it vibrated the walls and was impossible to sleep. We were in our room listening to drunk people run up and down the halls. The hotel said it’s a party area! No refund sorry you could have moved rooms Booking.com promised a refund for the night but are now backing down even though I have it in writing from them This was meant to be a birthday treat for our son it ended up being a nightmare and to be honest a little scary. The rooms have very small beds, no cups, not enough towels for our party size. Parking is opposite and it’s $80 a night.…
I have an upcoming visit in March and I made an error on my reservation and made it for Feb by mistake. I contacted the reservation office and spoke with Yelenda who was not only able to help me correct the issue, but also made sure I was I was not penalized for my error. This is outstanding customer service. 👏 Thank you. I look forward to my upcoming visit with the confidence Dream Downtown has the customer service values I respect and value.
Stayed for a last minute stay and everything from the amenities to the cleanliness were top notch. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating too. I will definitely be returning for future upcoming trips.
Great location in the Chelsea area - just across from Chelsea Market BUT...rooms need major updating, the carpet in my room looked so filthy it made me cringe. Furniture worn out and uncomfortable. Needs new paint job. My worst complaint is waiting for an elevator for 10 minutes (because they were having a party on the Penthouse) they dedicated 1 of the only 3 elevators to the guests of the party. Most annoying part was my room was on the 2nd floor but had NO staircase access? Is that even legal?
I enjoyed my stay at the Dream Downtown. The staff was very helpful and friendly and the room was lovely. Being able to open the window was awesome. The king bed wasn't as firm or supportive as I'd like, but perhaps they'll be changing the mattresses soon. Look out for the mini-fridge and mini-bar; the front desk warned us that they are easily triggered and you'd have to have things taken off your bill. We were on the 7th floor, and from Wednesday night on we could hear the bass coming from the upstairs nightclub. That said, with earplugs it wasn't really a problem at all and otherwise it was very quiet. Very little street noise even, which surprised me. I got several fantastic tips from the concierge including the best massage I've ever had, so kudos for the great recommendations. Also, there was a lovely note greeting me when I arrived along with a small box of chocolates and water bottles. Much appreciated. I loved the Karl Lagerfeld toiletries that were provided--I'm trying to find the same Agrumes et Vetiver lotion somewhere online because it was so yummy.…
This hotel is posh and cozy in a really great area with lots of dining options. The rooms are clean and elegant, the staff is also top notch. With the area being safe and subway being so close it was east to enjoy my stay outside the room. Stay here you will not be sorry!
What a “dreamy” experience we had at Dream Downtown! Our entire experience was great - from the comfort of the rooms to the friendly, helpful attitude of the staff. I particularly loved talking with a guy named Mike that worked there. He was so informative about the history of the hotel and surrounding area. I’d love to return in the summer when the pool is open.
This hotel is opulent and the staff is accommodating. Don’t miss out on one of the best hotel experiences in NYC. Room are spacious and well appointed. Don’t miss out on summer and the warmer months for the amazing pool experience. Thank you Dream for making my NYC trip awesome!
There is a club on the 12th floor of the hotel that makes the 11th floor rooms unlivable. The hotel night staff is snarky unhelpful and condescending when you call about the thumping music saying that if you don’t like it you can leave. Would strongly suggest avoiding that floor at all cost, not worth the frustration. Would also suggest the hotel re train or replace the night manager of the front desk- his attitude is simply not cut out for a role in hospitality.
