the manager of this hotel, is nasty and unprofessional. Daniel Perez thinks he works the door at a seedy nightclub, he fights with customers if they book through a 3rd party platform like Hotels Tonight. I am a Platinum member with Marriot, Platinum with Delta, and American Express. I own a Movie production company and travel a lot. I booked a last second room for me and my fiance through Hotel Tonight where i also am a very active member. When we got to the room they had given us a tiny dirty room with with a very small bed, when i asked to switch to another room, the first words out of this managers mouth were "you didn't pay a lot and you'll take whatever i give you" i went down the to the lobby and he immediately called over his bouncer and threatned to kick me out of the hotel for asking for another room. His staff looked so embarrassed. I calmly stepped aside, called Hotel Tonight and they refuneded my room immediately and we checked into a nearby hotel where we were greeted with champagne and smiles. Do NOT Stay at this poorly run hotel.

I honestly feel horrible giving this hotel 3 stars, since I absolutely LOVED the theme of the entire establishment along with how our bedroom was arranged. It felt magical as my girlfriend and I were walking through the lounge as we got to our bedroom, almost like we went back in time. The vibe kinda died down though, when we both started having trouble breathing... My girlfriend already made a review commenting on how horrible it was, as we tried to get the front desk and the hotel's engineer to make accommodations for us by cracking open the window as much as possible to having to lowering the overall room temperature to sixty degrees just to disconnect from the central heating system. We knew we didn't have COVID (since we recently got tested, and they even checked our temperatures), and we even took walks outside to verify our thoughts that it wasn't us. It was quite a shame we had to sacrifice heat just to breathe, and it was still no better after all we did. Even as I'm writing this review, I am struggling to breathe and I'm scared this place might have triggered my asthma. I will say though that guest services, the front desk, and the engineer were incredible at customer service and did everything they could. Aside from the breathing incident, the rooms were incredible, but I was taken aback that despite having a king size bed, the room didn't have more than one chair for eating. I found myself having to sit on my knees just so that my girlfriend and I could eat together. Other than the theme, I'd say the next best part of this place though was being able to bring our puppy and our cat. We actually had to book this hotel quite last minute, since we found out our last reservation didn't allow pets, so that's something I'll always appreciate from The Roxy as well.

I came here with my boyfriend and we liked the theme and the room of the hotel was pretty nice, but after being in the room for a few hours we started to have trouble breathing. We asked the front desk to open the windows since they were bolted shut they needed to get an engineer to come open. After that, it still did not make matters better considering they opened it just a crack. Eventually, we had to choose between suffocating (it was incredibly difficult to breathe in the room) and being in a 60 degree Fahrenheit room for the rest of our stay, neither of which were worth paying for. The front desk did all they could, and so did the hotel's engineer, so the service they provided was pretty good, but in the end, it was the stay in the room that ruined the experience. We got our temperature's checked in case it was COVID, and we were cleared of that- and we also went outside throughout the day, so we knew it was not just our lungs failing us. The Roxy Hotels ventilation system should be reconsidered. My boyfriend is still having trouble recovering in terms of breathing issues after our stay.

Dear Allison, We apologize profusely for the experience you have detailed. Our windows do open, and our rooms are fitted with individual wall AC units, with filters that are cleaned frequently and inspected by our Engineering team. In addition we have installed Merve13 filters and Atmosair units which are ionization tubes that clean the air, without using unsafe chemicals or creating any unwanted byproducts, to ensure we clean the air as best possible. We've also added UV lights to our AC vents and a PURO light machine, fitted with 6 lights is used in the public spaces daily to disinfect the air and all surfaces - the MTA are currently using the same for NYC's subway systems. We take our guests' safety seriously, it is our priority. We've taken significant steps to not just adapt to this climate, but lead by setting a rigorous example. I’ve booked rooms at The Roxy Hotel twice in the past three months for stays with family and friends. Each visit we received top-notch service from check-in to check-out, excellent rates, and clean and spacious accommodations. All the staff are excellent, but one manager in particular, Sami Rahman, went above and beyond to make our stay special and memorable. So if you’re looking for a five-star experience at a cool-but-classy downtown hotel in one of NYC’s hippest neighborhoods, head to The Roxy and ask for Sami. You won’t be disappointed!

First off, arriving at the Roxy - with its refined golden aesthetic and classy indirect lighting - was like taking a step back in time to enter the gilded age of NYC. Which is also borne out by the architecture of the surrounding area (the nexus of Tribeca and Soho - in my esteem, the best area in NYC) - and walking into our suite and looking out the of window, we could almost believe we were in Paris based on the building across the street. But back to first walking into the lobby... we were greeted with warmth, smiles, and glasses of Prosecco - of course, yes!! Which is the overall vibe of the Roxy: it truly feels like you're being welcomed home by family. A very congenial atmosphere; the diametric opposite of cold/clinical. And for this reason, also great for kids! We stayed at the Roxy with our 3 kids (and 2 cats!) and we really did immediately feel at home. So while being in a classy area of NYC - and in a specifically elegant, refined spot ("at the Roxy" indeed!) it's not at all pretentious - the best combination of homespun charm and elegant sophistication. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to extend our stay a few days. And here's where Sami the manager enters the picture. I haven't ever had such a warm and pleasant experience with hospitality. Example: my daughter (14 years old) recently got into vinyl records and jazz. Sami offered to go into the hotel LP collection and bring up a curated selection of records for her/us to enjoy (Coltrane, Freddie Hubbard, Marvin Gaye, etc.) - and yes, our room included a turntable. As an aside here, our room's decor was so elegant that my wife's friend (like her, from Italy) became obsessed with about a particular piece of furniture in the room. (Here's the story - they're all made specially for the hotel by a particular designer.) Speaking of hospitality, a few special nods to those at the Roxy who were so very gracious and helpful during our stay - Sami, Natia, Brendt, Arleene... And then there's the live jazz and music ("jazz at the Roxy", yes!). It's high level, and superb whether for lunchtime or dinnertime. We're planning to return, just to listen to music and say hi to our friends at the Roxy when live music resumes (post-Covid, that is - as it stands, we were able to catch the last few live sets before the indoor dining, and hence live music, restrictions were put into place). So all in all, very HIGHLY recommended to stay at the Roxy, a home away from home.
