We go to NYC a couple times a year and decided to mix up our hotel selection this round. We could not have been happier with our choice to stay at The Roxy! The whole place is an experience from the welcome reception (free champagne), to the lounge area and bar, to the cinema and underground jazz club. Our room was super comfortable and everyone we interacted with was so accommodating and personable. We especially loved bartenders Mark and Babloo who treated us like royalty (the happy hour and $1 oysters helped too). Also loved hanging in the bar later when DJ Bailey was spinning funk and soul tunes. This hotel is also right in the mix of a ton of great neighborhoods (Tribeca, Soho, NoLita) so there's always something to do...we will 100% return to NYC just to stay at The Roxy again!

Good food, nice vibe, nice staff. Terribly old building which is not well maintained. EXTREMELY LOUD and not a hotel for sleep. Great for nightlife and entertainment however you can visit for that. Cannot recommend even thought that staff was lovely and tried to help at every issue.

The concierge (Brendt) was absolutely incredible. He helped me coordinate a surprise room service order on behalf of my friend who was staying there for the night and it was a seamless experience and I owe it all to Brendt. Give this man a raise!!!!

Just had another great stay at the Roxy, one of my favorite hotels in NYC! Have stated here dozens of times, and every time a great experience. Great rooms, cool/fun atmosphere, welcoming environment and great staff! A special shout to to Olivia at the front desk and the one and only Donald at the door, who create a very cool and welcoming environment every time. Look forward to visiting my home away from home again very soon!

This is a very cool hotel in Downtown Manhattan. The hotel is a converted old cinema and has retained plenty of the ironical feature and still has a cinema in the basement, together with the fitness center. Our room was an ok size and looked out onto the east side of the city. It had standard amenities - TV, coffee making machine, mini bar, safe, toiletries - and the bed was very comfortable. There was live music each night in the very cool downstairs bar. Some of the noise was audible in our room but did not stop us sleeping at all. All in all, a very good stay.

The hotel has been amazingly designed which gives a very chic 70s style. The hotel has a cinema which plays movies from the 90s. The hotel is nicely located in southern manhattan and has great access to links to major routes. For a trip down memory Lane, this hotel is highly recommendsd

The rooms were comfortable, the food was good, the Tribeca location was super, and the hotel was interesting, but the best part was the friendly staff. They were so personable and so welcoming, especially the guys at the door, that we really felt recognized and welcomed each time we returned to the hotel. One of the features we liked best was the great open patio just at the door where we spent a lot of nice time watching the world go by and partaking of delightful food and drink offerings.

Unfortunately there are not many positive things to say about my stay at the Roxy Hotel. For the price they charge for the accommodation, along with the additional taxes and other fees, you would think some amenities would be supplied, but that is not the case. There are no drink making facilities in the room, I imagine so that guests are then left with no option but to purchase drinks from their bar or coffee shop. Even something as simple as being supplied with water in the room comes at a fee - purchasing it from their mini bar at $6 for a small bottle. On check in, you are also charged a hold to your card of $200 a night security deposit! This is an extortionate amount which was not disclosed anywhere during the booking process on Expedia. For my stay of 9 nights this left me in a position of having to get my family to transfer me money in order to actually be able to do anything on my trip! I also got charged a room service fee on check out, despite having paid the waiter who brought this to my room in cash, with additional tip! I queried this on check out and was told they would look to find the receipt. Not only did I find this quite appalling that they did not accept what I was saying to them as truth, I have not heard anything further from them but they have been quite happy to charge my card for the amount! The two positives about my stay is that one, the location was great with easy access to the subway and bars and restaurants close by. The second, was Donald. This gentleman who worked alongside the front desk staff was fantastic. He was so friendly and helpful and always went out of his way to say hello and see how I was. I could not say enough good things about him and he is a shining light at the hotel.

Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us. I'm sorry to see that your experience left so much room for improvement. Some of the issues you mentioned could have been easily resolved. For example, guests can request coffee makers or kettles during their stay. Had we known that you wanted to make your own coffee we could have sent one up to your room. Also, even though deposits for incidentals are standard at most hotels, it definitely should have bene mentioned at check in and not have been a surprise. I'm very sorry that you were inconvenienced by this. When you have a moment we would love to speak with you. Please call us at 212-519-6600 and ask to speak with the Director of the Front office.

I was immediately welcomed by Donald in such a friendly way(felt like an embrace). Front desk team were nice and efficient. I sat in the lobby had a quick cocktail while I waited for my room to be ready. Chef Abraham made a perfect recommendation for a snack. Before i had finished FD informed me my room was ready my bags were in the room and my key was presented to me immediately. I had dinner across the street but returned to enjoy the rest of the night in Django. Steven Bustos was the perfect host attentive friendly and extremely funny. My Dates expressed the same sentiment. My room was clean perfect lighting and I had all the amenities I could desire. The entire property was clean and in all areas the staff were friendly and attentive.
