This is my 4th Staycation this year at the Roxy. It’s really the staff here that keeps me coming back, Jessica, Donald, and Erin at front desk found out I was celebrating my birthday and made my exceptionally special. The rooms are spacious, and clean but come here the awesome staff really makes the experience truly an EXPERIENCE.

I came to the Roxy with plans to work remotely, but wifi was down for hours at a time for the first 4 days of my 9-night stay. Each time I called guest services, staff was rude and dismissive, and more than one staff member promised to call me back with follow up instructions/updates only never to be head from again. When I came down to the front desk and explained the issue within earshot of Omar, he sprung into action and logged me on to an alternative staff network, which saved my work week. Later while checking out, I was in a rush to catch a car but had a couple of questions about my bill. Omar offered to call me later to discuss, helped me load my luggage into the cab, and, as promised, called me directly that evening to follow up about the questions I'd had. My experience at the Roxy was overall very disappointing, and I'll choose somewhere else next time I'm in New York –- I lived in the city for 7+ years, at the price point you can find better in the way of service and amenities elsewhere –– but Omar's the real deal and uniquely stood out for his creative problem solving and follow through. I greatly appreciated his five-star help during my otherwise lackluster stay.

Just returned from a great 5 night stay. We used the Roxy as our home base to move our daughter into a nearby NYU dorm. Rooms were charming and a good size with plenty of storage and thoughtful use of space. The bed and pillows were really comfortable. No fancy USB ports, but all their outlets were easily accessible. We opted for a Roxy Deluxe King, which puts you on the 7th or 8th (out of 8) floor. They had pretty loud music going on Friday and Saturday night that could not be drowned out by the in-room noisemaker, but we had our own white noise machine so this was not a problem for us. Bathrooms were spacious with a little nook to store toiletries and good water pressure. Both the coffee bar and restaurant were decent and reasonably priced. We were a short walk to Target, BBB, Whole Foods and lots of restaurants. Freedom Tower and Washington Square Park were a little farther but still just under a mile away. Every employee we interacted with was extremely friendly and kind. We ended our stay with a well-priced car ride to the airport ordered by the hotel (cabs in the area are a bit sparse)—bring cash for this as there is a surcharge to use your credit card. Overall a great experience. Will definitely return for future visits to this part of town.

Our first time at the Roxy Hotel will also be our last. This is a party hotel, so if that works for you then you’d probably like it more than we did. But first, the good - the location is pretty much ideal for Manhattan. The hotel is very pet-friendly, and even through we did not bring our pet we would have liked to one day. The food in the restaurant was average, not great but not bad. The service was friendly, but not attentive. The rooms are typical for Manhattan - very small. But the bed was quite comfortable. During a very hot August, the room was quite cool, although somewhat humid. Now the bad: Friday and Saturday nights were wild parties. The jazz band plays in the lobby until 10:30pm, and it feels like they are playing right outside your room (it’s an atrium hotel). The white noise machines provided do nothing for the band noise. After that, the music quiets down but the bar patrons are pretty noisy down in the lobby, and later the room parties start. There was one upstairs from us from 2:30 to 4:30am. I tried calling guest services and security, but no one ever answered. I thought I might go downstairs to ask for help, but when I walked out my door one of the partiers (from a whole different part of the hotel) was throwing glass dishes off the 8th floor balcony crashing into the lobby - I decided it wasn’t worth getting hit in the head to make a report!  The staff was all business, without a shred of warmth shown to us. Not once in a 5 day visit did a staff member say “welcome back”, or "have a good day" when we walked in or out of the hotel. They claimed they would send my hotel receipt via email, but they never did. All in all, not a place I would recommend to a friend.

Hello 645curtisk, I appreciate you taking out the time to share your experience with us. In this instance, we fell short in anticipating and reacting to your needs-I'm sorry. If you ever decide to return, I would like to recommend one of our corner rooms due to the array of social entertainment programs we have on property. We look forward to being able to serve you better the future. Most Sincerely,
