The Sofitel was an excellent location for myself and 14 year old daughter. It's central location was easy to navigate. The hotel was lovely and the staff was fantastic. Albert (concierge) was very helpful and Elvis(not kidding) was great. I would recommend this hotel to people visiting NYC. It's close to Times Square but not too close.

My wife and I had a most enjoyable stay at Sofitel NY. The hotel was subtle, elegant and sophisticated. By the end of the weekend, it had become magnificent. The location was PERFECT for Broadway, dining, shopping and St. Patrick's Cathedral. The staff was remarkable, especially the door staff. Big Derek could be the most enjoyable and pleasant hotel staffer...

Sofitel Hotel is located in the heart of Manhattan in walking distance to everything. The hotel was immaculate and the service fantastic. Everyone went out of their way to ensure we were looked after and everything was fine. Dinner and breakfast at Gaby's was romantic and the food just perfect. Our suite was spacious, clean and very nicely decorated with...

Staying in New York with four children aged 6 to 12 years was a pleasure. We had booked a ”Magnifique Family” package, and stayed for four nights in superior rooms at the 16th floor. The staff was very friendly and helpful. One of our daughters has a gluten-allergy, and it was no problem finding the right food for her. The...

Was upgraded to a junior suite, unfortunately not high enough. The room was eternally dark and dreary with a view of another wall and HVAC equipment. Great location. Do not allow them to put you low, felt like we were in someone's basement.

The one thing that keeps me coming back to Sofitel hotels is the bed. It's the best night's sleep! I collect A-Club points on business trips in various hotels and always look forward to using them in this and other Sofitel hotels. As a Platinum member, I get a room upgrade and a welcome drink (champagne or cocktails) for both...

The Sofitel, located in the heart of the city, allows the traveler to make the most of even a short stay because everything -Broadway shows, museums,Fifth Avenue and Central Park- are easily accessible. The service is always impeccable and a warm and gracious welcome by the staff at Gaby's Restaurant makes an occasional visitor feel like a recognized VIP. Whenever...

Had a great time at the Sofitel NYC. Very large room for NYC, great bathroom with luxurious shower and all the vanity trimmings you could ask for. Close to the touristy stuff, but far away enough for some quiet. Would love to stay again!! Staff were very nice and Lo'Occtaine bathroom products a lovely French touch.

Ideal location. Had quite a large room for the NY standard (same for the bathroom). The staff was ok but nothing more. The furnitures, carpet and curtains were a bit tired and colors were sad. The bar is not the Sofitel's bar and ordinary. I didn't experience the breakfast as it was too expensive. Compared to the nearby Novotel (which...

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
