This hotel is fantastic! The beds and even the pull out sofa were very comfortable. The filtered water dispenser in the room and the provided water bottles were MUCH appreciated! Saved us probably $50 a day on bottled water! The room set up is nice with a huge shower. The bathroom definitely does not afford privacy, so you would only want to stay here with a significant other or close friends or family. So much space for the cost and such nicer amenities compared to midtown hotels.
We loved the location and it was much more relaxing than staying in midtown/Times Square. There are so many shops and you can walk 3 minutes to the ferry and pay $4.50 a person to go to midtown (a 15 minute ride with beautiful city views). Download the NYC ferry app and it’s super easy! Cabs from here to midtown are very expensive and you just sit in traffic. It’s also very close to the 911 memorial, Oculus, and an upscale mall and food court. We felt safe walking all around the area.
Staff were all very nice and helpful, and housekeeping is exceptional! The bar and restaurant were fine but definitely better options close by. We did really enjoy our room service breakfast. Very helpful concierge and front desk staff. The lobby of the hotel is just gorgeous! We loved this hotel and didn’t want to leave!

Mainly for business travelers but we were here for a few things we wanted to do downtown. Breakfast buffet was real food and they made it feel special on Mother’s Day. Rooms were spacious. Unique bath. Haven’t seen anything like this before.

Our trip to New York had been in the planning for almost 12 months and our stay at the Conrad had been booked since the end of 2023, so we had spent the first half of 2024 with equal amounts of excitement and trepidation about whether we had made the right decision for our first time in Manhattan and given its vast array of hotels. Thankfully, soon after arriving, we realised that any anxiety was completely misplaced and we had definitely made the right decision. The reception atrium is vast and impressive, so it raises the stature of the hotel from the time you enter, and it looks equally striking looking down from the 15th floor where our room was located. We chose a king suite with a river view, which was well equipped, spacious, and very comfortable, and had a separate bedroom and lounge area, each of which can be screened off via sliding doors. The bathroom is also arranged across two rooms with a WC and vanity unit in one and shower in the other. The hotel is in a fantastic location, with good transport links providing easy and convenient access to the various attractions and the hustle and bustle of NYC, but is in a quieter location than many uptown hotels and being so close to the Hudson allows pleasant and relaxing walks or the opportunity to just to sit and watch the ebb and flow along the river. Whilst the general area is quieter than other districts there are plenty of restaurants nearby as is the Brookfield Place mall, so there is plenty of choice when looking for somewhere to eat or flex the credit card and undergo some retail therapy. That said on a few evenings after long days walking around the sights of Manhattan, we chose to eat in the hotel's Atrio restaurant and had cocktails at the rooftop Loopy Doopy bar, where the food and drinks were excellent. We hope to have the chance to return to the Conrad at some point in the future, but until then, we would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fabulous stay in New York.

Another fantastic stay at this Lower Manhattan establishment. I booked 2 rooms directly with the hotel for my brother’s 60th birthday present, and received complimentary upgrades in recognition of my Hilton Gold status. In the light of a late change in travelers, I requested a further paid for upgrade of one room, to offer a larger social area for evening get togethers. All requests were professionally executed by Darwin and Elliot, and my sincere thanks are extended for their efforts in this regard. My brother received a bottle of wine and sweets in recognition of his celebration, and again thanks to housekeeping for this gesture. Having stayed at this hotel for many years now, I am still surprised by the courtesy and professionalism shown by all who work there. From front desk, doormen, housekeeping and porters, to our long term friend Lucas in the restaurant, all are willing to go the extra mile to meet requirements, and invariably with a smile. The hotel remains one of the best examples of the Conrad brand worldwide, and is a credit to its management team. The location of the hotel is perfect for those who wish to control their exposure to NYC and what it has to offer. If you want quiet, then this is the place to be. If you want something a little more involving, then Central Park and 5th Avenue are only 20mins away on the subway (closest station is WTC some 3 blocks from the hotel). Alternatively, if you are looking for the theatre, Maddison Square Garden or Times Square, you’re less than a 15min journey from the same subway station. Battery Park, the Staten Island Ferry and Wall St are only a 10min walk from the hotel, and Ground Zero is directly opposite Brookfield Place shopping mall, itself immediately across the road from the hotel. This is a quality hotel which meets all of our needs, though it’s location may not suit those who are seeking nightlife and the general bustle of Times Square. Many thanks again to all………..see you again soon😊 Chris

We arrived to the Conrad, New York downtown on Christmas Day 2024 in the evening. Check-in was smooth and they were able to combine our two separate reservations (one with cash, one with points) into the same room so we wouldn’t have to check out and then check in again. The restaurant was open under. It’s normal operating hours, which was great because it allowed us to have a stress free dinner as soon as we got there.
We were on the sixth floor in room 626, with a Hudson River view. Let me tell you that you need a Hudson River view room. Every night we laid down in bed we left the curtains open and stared out the window with an unobstructed view of the New Jersey skyline. The shower was cavernous but a little bit dark for my preference. The water pressure from the rainfall showerhead was excellent and had an outstanding amount of water flow. This hotel is truly five stars every step of the way. Every night they provided an ice bucket and every time I went to grab a glass from the mini bar, I was able to have a cold and refreshing glass of water thanks to the in room, water filter station. This is the most underrated feature in a hotel room and it needs to be EVERYWHERE. There is nothing worse than having to ration an 8 ounce bottle of water each day or needing to go to the store to buy bottled water every night.
We ordered breakfast every single morning to the room because the quality of the food at this hotel is top notch. The blueberry pancakes and potato medley are to die for. I feel spoiled now because they take good care of you at this hotel.

Stayed here prior to Christmas. Was very expensive for the value derived, especially since they lost WiFi service and TV for half of my multi day stay. No one at check in even bothered to tell us about their WiFi and TV system being down nor did they provide any estimate for repair when asked about. They almost seemed like they could care less - not great customer service quality. The room was ok but again, very expensive for what it was. I get holiday pricing, but it was over $600 a night and I didn’t see the value. The service quality did not rise to the level of what we paid. There was only one restaurant on site and it was limited in offerings - best going off property to eat nearby or elsewhere - it is NYC after all. Uber and taxi were really the only immediate transport options - during very cold weather, it was a long walk to any nearby subway stations - I was with someone who could not walk those distances. Doormen never helped us coming or going. Housekeeping failed to clean the room at all one of the days, and I did NOT have the do not disturb sign on my door. Sugar wasn’t replaced for in room coffee (I see this often - why is it so difficult to do something so simple and toss a few sugar packets in for the coffee - especially for more than ONE person?!). Towels were nice and fluffy (a pet peeve of mine when they aren’t). Air conditioning worked fairly reliably - the room was too warm without it even during the cold weather. WiFi was spotty at times. The hotel is attached to a regal cinemas theater complex which was nice and it is close to shopping downtown and the Oculus is a short walk away. All in all the hotel felt too isolated. Views were not great either given where the hotel was situated. I probably would not stay here again.

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at the Conrad New York Downtown (we went with Virgin Holidays) our first visit to New York. With so many hotel choices, we can honestly say that we couldn’t have picked better! We got to the hotel late in the evening and our first impression of the hotel was very good. We were checked in quickly, by a friendly member of staff and went straight up to our room on the 10th floor. We had two deluxe king size suites which were spacious, clean and comfortable. Plenty of complimentary, good quality toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body cream, cotton pads, cotton buds, shower cap, soap). There is also a coffee machine with pods (replaced daily) coffee mate, sugar etc which was very good and welcome and a filtered water machine with a complimentary Conrad water bottle. We had read on other reviews about the fridge sensors and checked with reception about additional costs and made sure we didn’t touch the fridge! Snacks were available but expensive (a box of almonds or cookies were $15). The room was very comfortable, plenty of storage space, with separate lounge area, bedroom (with sliding doors to separate both the bedroom and lounge) toilet/bathroom and large walk in shower. We felt very safe here, the hotel is in a quiet area across from the Hudson River with a view from the river of the Statue of Liberty and not far from the 9/11 memorial pools and museum. Whilst there is a restaurant in the hotel (we only used for takeaway once, but pizza was very good and staff friendly), there is also a shopping centre opposite the hotel which has plenty of places to eat and drink as well as a fabulous bagel shop underneath the hotel. Staff were very friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Transport, by either bus or subway are relatively easy once you get used to it but it was lovely to leave the hustle and bustle of Midtown and stay in a quieter area of New York. We will definitely return to New York and without a doubt will stay at the Conrad New York Downtown and would highly recommend. Thank you

Modern and very comfortable rooms, although note, this formerly was an Embassy Suites that was extensively remodeled, but once you know that, you also better understand the layout. The housekeeping staff are very attentive and there is both morning and evening service. It takes a while to figure out the overly complicated lighting in the rooms, but if you leave the desk light on, that helps you navigate in the dark until you can find which wall panel (there are several) operates which lights.
One major problem we have encountered is with the Wi-Fi and other electronics, and incredibly during each of our last four visits, each six months apart (all of this happened with fellow board members as well). The first time the Wi-Fi wasn't working, the televisions worked for a while and then stopped working and then the room phones stopped working as well. So we had to go down and tell the front desk (we couldn't reach them on our phones because, guess what, the phones were inoperable and the front desk didn't know that until we told them and they tried on their own). Someone also was asking for our personal passwords when they tried to fix the system, so when we got home, all of us had to have our own security people check our devices. The second time we were told it was only some rooms so they moved those of us who complained (many rooms weren't working). The third time we were told they were upgrading the system, which thus made the fourth time six months later all the more curious since we were told that the investment bank that owns the facility (their offices are across the street) had had a conference earlier the first day that we were there and that had used up the bandwidth, a truly mindboggling explanation, including the fact that for all three days of our stay, the Wi-Wi seldom worked, the televisions seldom worked and the phones often crashed as well.
The Atrio restaurant is outstanding for all meals -- excellent food and service, although if you want a table at dinner, probably best to reserve ahead of time since office workers and others often fill the place for cocktails and then many stay for dinner.

It was a very relaxing experience with a great view of the river. The room was spacious and clean. The amenities in the room were very thoughtful! The staff were very friendly and inquired of my needs regularly. The best touch was when they realize that I also wore glasses they left lens cleaning wipes. The location is near the battery park, you can walk along the river and dine in many locations nearby.

Really great staff - from the front desk to the restaurants, I really appreciated everyone. The food was great. Cool lounge. Great location.
I had to change rooms 2x - once was because the blinds were closed and wouldn't open. We would have to be in the dark if we stayed there.
My review is really based on the room design and how impractical it was. So there are 2 choices of rooms - regular or accessible. Regular is just that - no grab bars in the shower, nothing. So when you're traveling with an ambulatory elderly person, you have to think about safety. The only alternative was accessible which literally was designed for wheelchairs. The room itself, bed comfort, etc great. But what's the point of having an accessible bathroom when there is water everywhere and a total fall hazard? I recommend that the management actually stay in one of these rooms and realize how impractical it is. There is no way to shower without holding the detachable water spray. It was an unpleasant experience to say the least. Perhaps add some grab bars to your normal rooms instead of the roll in shower as the only option.
