This was our first time staying with Heidi and Tom at Easyliving-Harlem and it will definitely NOT be our last! From the moment we were welcomed into their beautiful brownstone home we knew we were in for a real treat. The house has been lovingly restored by our hosts, it truly is stunning and such a privilege to be able... More

Easyliving Harlem is an extraordinary little B&B in South Harlem, in a tree-lined and for New York standards very quiet street. Unlike the typical New York accommodation, this place has huge, tastefully designed (ensuite) rooms. All guests can use the big kitchen and the small backyard. It is simply wonderful to have breakfast there or a nightcap after an exhausting... More

We have just returned from a week staying at Easyliving Harlem. I loved this place. It was like staying with family rather than in a B & B. Heidi and Tom are just lovely people and will do everything they can to make your stay an enjoyable one. Their knowledge of the area is invaluable. Every morning Heidi would ask... More

This was my third trip to New York and I had a great stay at Easy Living Harlem. It is an old brownstone which has been beautifully restored, is immaculately clean and has wonderful hosts. Heidi and Tom are warm, welcoming and helpful. There is a kitchen for everyone's use and a cute courtyard out the back which was lovely... More

I've returned to Easy Living whenever I find myself in New York. This is a genuinely unique Bed and Breakfast, with amazing hosts and a variety of guests. Not only are your privacy respected, but you are integrated into the neighborhood with ease. Always a place to have some great conversation and meet good people. Very conveniently located to get... my wife and I chose Easyliving on the strength of the previous reviews and were not disappointed. Despite us not arriving until 10 at night, Heidi and Tom were the perfect hosts from the get go. The rooms were excellent, spotless, comfortable and spacious. The property's location was excellent. 15 min subway to downtown, with enough great eateries in the... More

Heidi and Tom are simply the best hosts that you could wish for, we were made to be part of the family from the moment the door opened. It is difficult to say just how friendly and helpful these two lovely people are and by the end of our week in New York we really had found two new friends.... More

It was the second time that I stayed in this beautiful & typical brownstone building in Harlem and felt right at home. Heidi and Tom are very generous and welcoming and the rooms are spacious and very clean. It is very conveniently located to downtown Manhattan by subway or bus and I will certainly stay there again, if I get... More

We stayed with Heidi and Tom for 6 days. We were treated as part of the family and given the space and privacy to do our own thing. It was a perfect balance. Tom and Heidi are very generous with their time and answered our endless questions. The house and room were beautiful. It was newly renovated but still had... More

Wonderful, luxurious, comfy, clean B&B. We stayed there for over a week. Wonderful, lovely owners. There are no words which can describe it. It has all the comfort of an excellent accomodation with a touch of a family- homey feeling! We will visit again!

Staying in Harlem

Neighborhood Profile
Harlem
As a hub of African American culture, Harlem has played a vital role in the history of New York City. Today, the neighborhood is as vibrant as ever as new businesses and developments go up next to local institutions. The heart of the neighborhood is bustling 125th Street, where street vendors and historic landmarks like the Apollo Theater mingle with big-name stores. Turn down almost any corner, and you’ll discover some of the most beautiful blocks in the city, filled with handsome brownstones, soul food restaurants, corner shops, and scenic parks. For a taste of a real New York neighborhood, it’s hard to top a visit to Harlem.
