I booked our room for two weeks on-line, and paid in full upfront a week or two before, from a distance of 9,000 miles. We were due to arrive about midnight at La Guardia after 17 hours flying, and were distressed to get this message from the Jewel: “We only hold reservations until midnight”. We emailed twice to reassure them...

Stayed late Jan for a long weekend. Excellent location with many attractions and 5th Avenue a short walk away. Welcoming and friendly reception staff. Room small (but not overly so), modern, clean and comfortable. Can't really fault it - stay there, you won't regret it !!!

I had an excellent room (no view, but who looks)...Check in time is 3 p.m. and I arrived at 10:30 a.m. and was surprised as my room was ready for immediate occupancy. There's a sort of sitting area on the second floor where you watch T.V. and drink cappuccino from a lavish machine. The (all important) Bed was great...the furnishings...

This hotel is a solid choice. Nice room with everything you would expect to find (TV, coffee maker, etc. -- I only mention as I've stayed places that didn't include the basics). The room is clean and cozy. The location is incredible given the price I paid. They let me check in early, which was a huge bonus. I would...

Checking in was the fastest ever! Staff was so nice and helpful. The room was beautiful and I loved the Keurig in the room! Great view. So close to Rockefeller Center and surrounding attractions. I will definitely stay here again in the future.

Really a great customer service experience, from an early check in because they were slow, to free cold water bottles, keurig in our room, and last but not least holding our bags after check out time so we could continue to explore. Great find.

Affordably priced hotels in Midtown can be very difficult to find. Affordably priced hotels that aren't rats nests of filth are even harder. The Jewel is can definitely compete with hotels far above its star rating and it is the perfect home base for exploring Midtown, 5th Avenue, Broadway and Central Park. Like most hotels in that area in that...

My favorite hotel in New York, the staff does a great job and they take the time to help with anything you need. I love the room and the amenities. The unlimited free bottled water is great. On my last trip I left my wallet in a cab and the staff worked overtime to help me find it.

Location is great but room was tiny. TV was a joke as it was tiny. Air/heat didn't work. Had to do it manually on the actual unit. Would not stay here again. Oh and was told that all their rooms are queen beds. This is not a good hotel.

Dear Mazu1976, My apologies that you had a problem with the air/heat in your room - and even more so that we did not resolve this for you while you were our guest. I will research which room you stayed in and ensure the unit is working properly. I am happy to add that we have a great project in...

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
