Stayed 4 nights, wanted cheapish accommodation. I thought this would be ok but unfortunately didn't feel comfortable. I had a single room which wasn't well decorated, the place was cold. The shared bathroom I cleaned when I went in, no cleaning products The owners seemed friendly enough. It was a shame really as the location is good for subway. For... More

Yolanda and her husband are a very nice friendly people. Place is just what you get for what you pay, it is NEW YORK. Very safe neighborhood, so easy to ride east and west subway lines just half a block away. Thanks I will be back.

I will live tehre again if Im going back to New York some time. The rooms were good and I liked the almost personal kitchen and bathrooms. Especially for such a low price. The single room is extremely affordable! The lady and guy who owned it were also nice persons and I felt welcome immediately. It felt like home to... More

Unfortunately I only have two good points.... This b&b is so close to the metro and it takes about 15 minutes to get to the centre of NYC. The owners are incredibly nice and friendly. The place is filthy and can do with a spot of renovation to be honest. The 'breakfast' was only available if they had remembered to... More

If friendliness compensates for cleanliness then this place is OK. Could be cleaner & the breakfast consists of cornflakes with sporadic appearances of milk and bread. Empty bottles under bed a mystery.

Staying in Harlem

Neighborhood Profile
Harlem
As a hub of African American culture, Harlem has played a vital role in the history of New York City. Today, the neighborhood is as vibrant as ever as new businesses and developments go up next to local institutions. The heart of the neighborhood is bustling 125th Street, where street vendors and historic landmarks like the Apollo Theater mingle with big-name stores. Turn down almost any corner, and you’ll discover some of the most beautiful blocks in the city, filled with handsome brownstones, soul food restaurants, corner shops, and scenic parks. For a taste of a real New York neighborhood, it’s hard to top a visit to Harlem.
