We got a reservation at the Element because the rates were reasonable, and we have used Elements hotels in other places with perfect results. This was not the case; there are issues that the hotel can manage and others that they can’t but if you are thinking of staying here, consider them. 1. The location is pretty bad, it wasn’t the case a few years before, but I’m pretty sure CoVid hit it hard, and there’s a lot of addicts wandering around, and they follow you getting rather persistent. 2. the hotel doesn’t offer HouseKeeping service, which is understandable, but even when we asked for exceptional service because we found a rotten orange under our bed, the service was not good… the floors were still dirty, as well as the desk and nightstand (I was pretty sure the service should have been better because of covid, but it wasn’t) 3. there was weed/cigarette smell in the hallways and our room almost all-day 4. our room had a “bad window,” and it would get pretty noisy at night because it won’t shut correctly 5. the staff, in general, was good, they worked hard, but there were things out of their hands. I’m pretty sure we won’t be staying here again as it was not a good experience in general with two little girls.

My stay here on May 30, 2021 was disappointing. Here are the reasons in the order I thought of them: 1. the elevator was a nightmare: the hotel workers always used one of the elevators, so there were only two available for all of the hotel guests. I had to wait 10-15 minutes each time to use elevator whether going down from or up to room on 9th floor 2. wrong name on TV (Recardo instead of Ricardo) which was never corrected even asking two front-desk workers. I was told it was changed and that it would update after a short time. I checked the name when I left the next day and found that it was the same, wrong name as it was right after check-in. When I checked the info I gave when I booked the room, I saw that I had spelled my own name correctly which is not surprising. 3. there was no phone in the room to contact the front-desk. 4. once hot water was turned on with the cold water running, the cold water stayed hot even after the hot water was turned off. 5. weird, passive aggressive attitude from the person who checked me in. At one point, she explained something both too quickly and too quietly, and I said gently that I didn't know what she was talking about, and she repeated with a passive-aggressive attitude that I didn't appreciate and found unprofessional. 6. stale, hard bagels for breakfast which was the main dish in the breakfast I expected a lot more from my stay.

Didn’t have the room I asked for, fire alarms going off all the time, unable to reach front desk, hideous entrance and outside of hotel, really scary, ugly lobby, cold, terrible floors in the rooms, no carpeting, awful awful experience.

I stayed at the Element for A week while recovering from surgery,. The staff was absolutely outstanding. Henry was just simply amazing, very accommodating, very thoughtful, and just a pleasure all around. Jessica at the front desk could not be nicer, she really takes her job seriously, and really tries to make sure that the guests in this hotel I’ll taken care of. It’s not easy to get Great customer service in New York City These days, but the staff at element really make you feel welcome And go above and beyond for you to have a great experience in the Big Apple. A big thank you to Henry and Jessica especially.
