It was supposed to be a nice family trip to NYC...ended up stealing our money/gift card at the front desk and no one is helping me to fix my bill. We stayed 6 nights from 9/15-9/21 counting on using my Hilton gift card worth $900 as partial payment. However, the front desk lady took my gift card and told me everything is all set and she will send the receipt to my email. (They did send the receipt of the bill with the full amount) I have been calling a dozen times to fix this issue, however, the front manager and account manager mentions about fixing, but no getting back to me at all. Besides this issue, I still cannot believe this hotel is part of Marriott. We had to deal with the below issues besides the bill. 1) Crib: we had two small children and I requested a room with a crib, but all they did was put us in the smallest room on the floor with No crib...they eventually brought a crib, but the room was too small that it barely fit into the room. (I had to request another larger room the next day) 2) Shower: this whole hotel has a weird water issue. The first room we were in had no hot water, the second room had ONLY hot water....how are we supposed to bathe young children with just cold water or hot water? We asked if this is the issue with the hotel and several days later one of the technicians told my husband that it's an ongoing issue throughout the hotel. He suggested that we had to run all the water in the room for 10+ minutes in order to get the right temperature. 3) Housekeeping: We stayed 6 days and we requested the housekeeping multiple times, but we only got one on the day before we were leaving... we saw the cleaning crew, so it's not like they do not have ppl. I get it if they are limiting the cleaning for a few days stay, but if it's more than 5 days stay, I think they should offer. After all these issues we had to deal with, they took my gift card and were not even trying to sort out the issue. They do know who was working at the frontdesk on 9/21 in the morning. I only saw one lady at the front desk. I called multiple times and got to speak with front desk manager, Robert, Cassandra and account manager, Shirley. None of them got back to me to solve this issue via email or phone calls. At this point, my only conclusion is that the hotel staff has scammed me out of $900, and management is complicit in the grift. Again, I strongly do not recommend staying at this hotel.

I visit New York City at least 3 times a year to see Broadway Shows. I have stayed at The Element on my last 2 visits. The rooms are basically an efficiency apartment with a full size refrigerator/freezer, microwave oven and burners. The rooms are quite clean, the elevators are fast and it is a secure property as well. The staff is very friendly and helpful and patient. I would like to thank Rafaela for her help with my check ins and check out. She is very welcoming and a great asset to the Marriott brand. I will return in the future and will recommend your property to my friends.

We had 2 rooms reserved, each room was nasty. Toe nail clippings and trash on floor of one with trash and dirt in other room. Each room had one stained white towel and wash cloth for the two guests per room. Overall filthy carpet in hallways and elevator. We were reserved for 4 nights, stayed only 1, not what you would expect for a Marriott brand hotel.

First the check-in process was a bit shady with them putting me on a middle floor instead of a higher floor. Got up to the room notice the room was a bit dirty. Was staying for a week and ended up cutting my stay short because it was such a horrible hotel. Every morning there was a 15 to 20 minute line for the elevators leaving or going. They only have three elevators which isn't enough for all the rooms. The gym downstairs was missing equipment but obviously had been stolen or not repaired. Took me about three nights to figure it out but the entire side of the mattress I was sleeping on was collapsed enough so it didn't provide proper support. My back was killing me after 2 days I couldn't really figure out why until I tried sleeping on the other side which I felt much more supported. I called down to the front multiple times to get things done sometimes it would take three calls to actually get it done. Maid service was pretty atrocious they don't mop or sweep the forest properly I realized this when I spilled some water on the floor and wiped it up with a paper towel and saw the paper towel was completely black. The coffee they put in the rooms is pretty atrocious would it really be so hard to get Starbucks or something decent? The first morning I had the breakfast downstairs which was the last morning. Powdered scrambled eggs. Reheated overcooked sausages. The only redeeming thing was they had some hard boiled eggs. I don't think I'd stay here again.

When we checked in, they gave us a room that ended up being unavailable. So we had to wait another hour until a different room was available. Later, we requested bath towels to which we were not given any.
