We booked 2 rooms in November. Both were small, dark, dingy and in disrepair. The bathrooms had broken tiles and the grout was dirty. The public areas at reception were also dirty and shabby. The carpets are worn and a tissue I saw on the sofa at reception in the morning was still there when we returned in the evening. The street sounds are so loud that no one slept well. The Manager was not helpful and didn't care. His attitude was essentially "stay somewhere else of you don't like it. We booked here because of we read good reviews online. It seems to me that either things have deteriorated A LOT or the positive reviews were not genuine. We will NEVER RETURN. For the same cost, there are MUCH BETTER options.
I have stayed at the Nolitan a few times over the years. After not visiting since late 2019 (due to the pandemic), I took an impromptu trip this past weekend and the Nolitan had a room available. I had a balcony which was fun to look out from despite the chilly weather, and I went for coffee around the corner and had a few meals at the Butcher's Daughter across the street-- all good! To me, the ideal hotel in NYC strikes a balance between location and hospitality, and the Nolitan was a winner for me. Other than a long walk uptown, I spent the majority of the weekend in the Soho/Nolita area and this was an ideal home away from home. I recommend it!
amazing services! the staff exceeded my expectations very polite and accommodating!! I will stay there again for sure on my next visit! great location as well. The rooms were spotless and the bed was comfortable. fully stocked mini-bar with any extra amenities (e.g. yoga mat in the room).
We visited the roof top bar at the Nolitan Hotel for drinks with a group of friends. It was a beautiful evening. The setting was beautifully decorative and the view was amazing. To be in the city, it was so relaxing. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The hotel is also beautiful! Very clean! Drinks were delicious too!
We had an ok stay here but be warned THERE IS NO COFFEE. I’ve never stayed at a hotel without coffee. None in the room. None in the lobby. The only option we were told was to go to a local restaurant. The closest restaurants didn’t open until 9am. I don’t understand how a hotel doesn’t have any coffee at all. The hotel is located close to lots of good restaurants but also on a busy street so it can get loud. The balcony was nice. Would have been even nicer to have a cup of coffee out there.
Stayed here with a good friend for 5 nights. She had chosen based on location, which was great. Lots of restaurants in the immediate neighborhood, markets and pizza close by, near the subway, walkable to the waterfront and many parks. We were out all day, never felt unsafe walking home at night, usually after midnight. Staff was very helpful and friendly, even when we came in late. Room was nice, clean, quiet, considering it faced the street. Some street noise, which is to be expected in a big city, but we enjoyed the view and activities since we live in suburbs. Would definitely stay here again.
Total dump. I showed up for my checkin. As accosted by the night manager. Not sure how he has a job. Despite the fact that it was nearly midnight,I ubered uptown at $50 just to not have to deal with that man and checked myself into the Lotte. I will not be back.
Very nice boutique hotel in a great location. You are in an awesome area to see and do plenty. Walkable area to enjoy plenty of restaurants, art, subways are close by if needed. Front desk staff very nice and accommodating. I would stay here again without question.
For complete transparency, I have copied one of the same messages that I wrote to the general manager below. The situation that took place was more important for me to address as a personal matter, than to write a public review. However, after multiple attempts to communicate with this hotel, there has been no response and here I am months later bringing this public to help someone else to not fall victim as this could’ve been worse. Hello Mr. Bogdan, The situation should not be overlooked as the outcome to the events could have ended differently. Below is a synopsis of what took place. My room number were the event took place was 608. 1. On Thursday, July 22, 2021 just after 6pm the phone to my room began to ring. I did not answer the call. 2. Shortly after, there was a knock on the door, and a female identified herself through the door as "room service". I informed her that I did not order room service and she said ok. The peephole was blocked from the outside and I was unable to see out the door. 3. About a minute later, there was a knock on the door again, this time, she asked for a first name of an individual named Kashim, which was a name other than my own. I told her it was the wrong room. By this time I was very scared. This is a secured, key elevator access hotel, no one should be able to enter the guests’ floor without a key to the elevator or without being escorted after given permission. 4. I called the front desk and in which Isaac answered, and I told him of the events that took place in 1-3. He told me that they just sent my friends up to see me. I let him know that I did not have any friends coming to visit me and no one knows where I am located as I never told anyone where I was staying and I was travelling from out of town. 5. When I looked out my balcony, there were two ladies standing across the street in dark shades and mask looking up at the location of my room. They proceeded to get a seat at the table of the restaurant there, outside on the sidewalk, and continued to stake out the room. 6. Isaac informed me that he would go speak with them, and he did. Some time had past since he left them, and so I called the front desk again. He answered and said that there was someone staying prior to my stay with the same last name as mine in the exact same room. 7. I was very scared and I did not want to leave my room or the hotel as I did not know if anyone would hurt or attack me in my coming or going. I asked him if I can speak with them so that I can clear my identity so they wouldn't want to hurt me. He escorted me to them and the ladies said they were only trying to surprise someone for their birthday who had the same last name as mine. After I went back to my room, the ladies where long gone and they never ate at the restaurant. THIS WAS A BREACH OF MY PRIVACY, THE HOTEL SHOULD NEVER GIVE ANYONE MY NAME OR IDENTITY. 8. The next day when I was checking out, I spoke with the manager on duty. She said she had to check the cameras as no one informed them of the incident of the night prior. She checked and told me that she saw the girls on the camera and let me know that someone would follow up with me. She did inform me that from the outside, no one would know what room to look for, unless they were told. I do not take this event lightly, and this is a serious matter that needs to be followed up on. I do not know if the story about the last guest of the same room having the same last name as mine is true, and even so, NO ONE should be allowed to my room in this secured hotel unless I gave permission. I did not open the door, but if I did, I do no know what would have happened to me. I only heard one voice, but their were two ladies and they proceeded to stake out the room. I was so shaken up and scared. When the front desk called my room, why did they proceed to send the two ladies up to my room after I did not answer? Where they coming to rob my room? What would they have done to me if I would have actually opened the door? The girls were given my last name and my privacy rights were violated. Hotels take their guest experienced very seriously, and I don't know why this incident was swept under the rug. No one from the hotel has contacted me to date. Thank you for your time and concern to this matter. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks, LADIES ALWAYS BOOK A ROOM FOR TWO AND NO MATTER HOW SECURED IT IS, DO YOUR BEST TO NEVER LET A HOTEL FEEL THAT YOU ARE THERE ALONE. ALSO, ALWAYS MAKE IT A HABIT TO LOCK YOUR ROOM DOOR EVERY TIME IN THE DAY AND NIGHT.…
We booked a weekend anniversary staycation in a corner room based on the website photos. However the site is really misleading and only shows a corner on a higher floor, where the windows extend halfway around the room for a lot of light and skyline. We were given a 2nd floor room - mostly bare cement walls, fewer windows, and so close to the sidewalk you could practically high five the passersby. This would be fine if the pricing was adjusted for the less desirable room, but unfortunately we paid close to $500 a night for this, same as if we'd gotten a higher room. The amenities feel bare bones - the tiniest vials of shampoo and body wash I've ever seen. (That's one for two adults.) Two bath towels. Not even an extra one in case of needing a hair towel or simply a clean dry towel when your first one hasn't dried due to being in a dim cement block cell all night. Small TV far away from the bed. Few channels. Remote needs new batteries. No information about how one could get coffee at the hotel - are visitors maybe comped a coffee in the hotel restaurant? No idea. Sad that we spent so much money on this place. But at least the tub was nice. …
