Booked this hotel for two nights using IHG points - a great redemption, as rooms are typically about $500 a night. The hotel is one-block away from Times Square, so don't worry about excessive noise. So, my impressions: Short queue on entering reception and had to stand by the receptionist while he finished a call. Offered a room on the... More

4th floor room overlooking the street was not noisy. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable. The bathroom was large, the shower had a wand and an overhead rain feature. The coffee machine delivered one mug full and refused to cooperate after that. The only drawback with the location is the hotel entrance is on a narrow street so the... More

Went for the weekend to celebrate a birthday. From 1st check-in the room was not ready, still not ready after an hour and a half. Rude reception upon 2nd check-in attempt. Valets were the best the hotel had to offer besides location. They offered nothing for my wife who has food allergies and is gluten sensitive at breakfast. Sadly most... More

Offers the same great rooms and service as other Intercontinental hotels we have stayed in but seemed to lack that certain charm that made other stays so special. An A for comfort and quality but lacking the little touches that usually make Intercontinental stays an A+.

As a place to stay, this was brilliant. Well located to walk to various places but also with Subway really close. We had a more than adequate room and a nice view of the street below. Clean bathroom, nicely fitted out which wes good. We found lots of places to eat locally with amazing food and entertainment. NYC is definitely... More

My husband and I visited New York last year and stayed at the Intercontinental and were disappointed with our stay. Despite that, we decided to give it another chance for our return visit due to the location. Shame on us. When we arrived at the hotel, we walked to the check in desk and were not addressed at all. The... More

Arrived at 3pm after 23 hours travelling to be told that rooms are ready after 4pm. I returned at 4.00,4.30,5.0 and 5.30 pm each time informed the room was not ready, eventually another room was offered, however, I had a business meeting at 6.30pm and had to leave with the same clothes on and no shower!! Sorry, but this was... More

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in September 2016 as it was close to theatres and we were not disappointed - west 44th and 8th avenue. The hotel's location is great if theatre hopping is what you want to do. We were no more than 3 blocks from the 4 shows we saw with many more in the... More

As an Intercontinental hotel, and I stay in many every year, it was OK, not the best or even up their in the collection's top tier. We were in a nice corner king with a view etc but I wouldn't stay here due to its location and lack of lobby space to hangout in. We thought we would try it... More

Beautifully appointed, friendly and helpful staff from reception and concierge to housemaids. Nothing was too much trouble. We were unable to lick the safe on arrival and it was repaired and operating within fifteen minutes. Great view overr Time Square. Excellent value for money.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
