We were greeted and assisted by very helpful and friendly staff. Our room was clean and the bed was really comfy. Having a free breakfast to start the next day was a nice perk! We will stay here again when we are back in this area of NYC.

The perfect location for visiting NYU, Greenwich Village, Chinatown, Little Italy, SoHo. Located a quick walk from Essex/Delancy subway. Katz's famous Deli up the street on the corner. Loads of restaurants and cafes in many ethnicities nearby. Extremely helpful staff printed walking directions to Washington Square, explained the subways so we could get up and downtown fearlessly, held our bags... More

This hotel was close to Chinatown, Little Italy and obviously, the Lower East Side. It was clean, had free breakfast and staff was helpful and friendly. Will stay here again. Room was smallish but quiet and had all amenities we needed...coffee, clean, newspaper daily, frig, iron etc

This hotel was great! The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The room was small (but from what we heard, every room in NY is small) but extremely clean. For 3 girls in their late 20's it was perfect location! Great bars, great food and great shopping all within walking distance. I will definitely stay here again.

I booked this hotel because of its location (lower east side between the Brooklyn Bridge, the 9-11 Memorial and the South Street Seaport area). It turned out to be very accessible by subway as well as walking, and cabs were never far away. The neighborhood is filled with interesting shops and plenty of vegetarian and vegan options for my daughter.... More

Excellent value for anyone wanting accommodation in this lively neighbourhood. The room was well appointed and the beds great. Front desk staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. My only complaint: breakfast was mediocre-- pre-fab food on styrofoam plates. A short walk to the Delancey/Essex subway made it easy to get anywhere. Noise from the street... More

Hotel was clean and quiet, since there are not very many rooms. Very comfortable accommodations. Small room, but that's to be expected in NYC. Good location. Would definitely go back again.

I visited NYC for 4 days from the UK to attend a conference, so I needed a comfortable room that I would not spend much time in. This was fine for my needs. I followed previous advice and asked for a room upstairs at the back - quiet and with a nice view of the lower east out towards the... More

This was my second stay at Comfort Inn Lower East Side, and it was even better than my first stay. I had a room on the sixth floor facing the front, which I preferred to last time when I had a back room on a low floor with no view. Ludlow Street is very "lively" with partiers on weekend nights,... The hotel is small but very convenient for us. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff was very helpful. It was also very quiet and sleeping was easy.

Staying in Lower East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Lower East Side
Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving immigrant past and its modern transformation into a beacon of global art and culture, the Lower East Side is one of the most dynamic neighborhoods in the city. The blocks of tenements that represented the promise and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience now command top dollar for new residents. Right next to old-world delis, 24-hour bodegas, and the garment shops of Orchard Street, you’ll find hip clubs, fashionable bistros, and luxury hotels beckoning at all hours of the evening. If you love nightlife and live music, it’s hard to beat the scene here.
