The Artezen Hotel garners appreciation for its chic and modern atmosphere, with guests frequently praising the spotless rooms and the hotel's overall cleanliness. While the prime downtown location is a hit with those looking to explore NYC, opinions on service quality vary, with many finding the staff helpful but others facing disappointments. The rooftop bar and gym stand out among amenities, although some visitors have expressed concerns over in-room provisions and service fees. Room sizes are acknowledged to be small, yet comfortably appointed.

Absolutely fabulous hotel, wonderfully comfortable king size bed, lovely cotton sheets and pillows on a well made bed, no ill fitting sheets or duvets here! For a small room there was ample, well thought out storage with 4 large pull out drawers under tour king size bed. The room contained a mini fridge, espresso coffee machine, large TV and small hand held steam iron. There were a couple of packets of complimentary crisps, biscuits and water which was a nice touch. There was a privacy light on the door if you did not require room service. We had them freshen the room half way through our stay, when we returned, they had thoroughly cleaned through and changed all the bedding. The room was spotless. Bathroom quite big with huge shower and good water pressure. We were in room 1705 which was quite high up and at the back of the hotel, really surprised as to how quiet it was considering we were in the middle of NY city, no noise from adjoining rooms either. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful and so welcoming. When you step outside the door the area is a little off putting but to to be honest it felt extremely safe. There is an Irish bar across the street if you arrive late and are wanting a quick meal or a drink. Just around the corner there is a “Pret A Manger” with an eating area for breakfast items such as lovely almond croissants or warm savoury items and good coffee to start you off on your day. This is classed as the financial district and very close to the 9/11 site and not far from battery park where you get the ferry to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis island. We were a little worried about the subway but there has been a massive change around here since we were here last, everywhere felt much safer and cleaner even though a lot of buildings seemed to be covered in scaffolding for some reason. We did not find lots of restaurants in the immediate area but a 5-10 minute walk took you to plenty. Could not recommend this hotel highly enough. After a hard day trekking the city, so nice to have a homey haven to come back to, wonderful shower and amazing bed for a well earned good nights sleep.

We stayed at the Artezen Hotel over Christmas and New Year and adored the hotel; the location, the rooms, the facilities and the staff were all amazing (Ken and Omayra on the front desk stood out for us, nothing was too small for them to help make our stay more pleasant).

The hotel is across the road from the Fulton Station entrance which you can walk through straight to the World Trade Centre (handy if it’s cold or rainy) where to can get a path or subway train to all of the attractions.

The rooms were perfect, the view was spectacular (we were on the 17th floor), always well stocked (Nespresso coffee, chips and water provided) and kept spotless.

The gym on the 3rd floor was one of the best I’ve used in a hotel, the equipment was good quality and a decent range, the yoga room was handy for doing circuits. The room service (provided by an outside company) was good value and very high quality which can be ordered from the ‘guest services’ button on the iPad provided in the room. The chrome cast on the tv in the room was a nice touch as you can access your own Netflix or Amazon prime.

Honestly our stay was spectacular with the hotel being the perfect place to touch base at after a long day sightseeing. Everything felt in easy reach and the staff were incredibly helpful from helping us find the right subway routes to the nearest medical centre we couldn’t have asked for more.

We stayed 3 days at this lovely boutique hotel. I am usually hard to please but I must say I was so impressed with this hotel. It is small but perfect for a few days in the city. I never expect large rooms in nyc, but I do love an impeccably clean room, a fantastic bed and a great shower. This hotel excelled in all 3. Our small quiet room had everything you needed and they invested in the best quality things. I adored the bed with Frette Linens (usually found at luxury hotels) and super comfortable down pillows and comforter. I love that their small resort fee included spring bottled water (Fiji & Poland Spring), wifi as well as a nice espresso machine. Since the hotel is only 9 months old, there were no smells, bathroom was impeccably clean with high quality fixtures. I even loved the toiletries with a bit of vintage apothecary feel. The hotel is also located in a nice area, super close to city hall, Brooklyn bridge and with a subway stop right outside the hotel entrance. All the staff was wonderful and extremely friendly, ready to help with everything you needed. I stayed in much more expensive hotels that do not even compare in quality with Artezen! I can't wait to go back.

Stayed for 2 nights while dropping my daughter off at college, and was blown away by the attentive and eager to please Concierge staff. I wanted a bottle of wine, he told me right where to go and when I returned brought a bottle opener and 2 freshly cleaned wine glasses. When I wanted a taxi to take my daughters 6 huge bags to her dorm, which was only a six minute walk from the hotel, Carmelo offered to personally walk the bags over using his luggage cart saving me from the over inflated cab fare. You can tell that Carmelo loves his job, and willing to go above and beyond.

It’s a modern boutique hotel. The room is nicely decorated and very clean with a really comfortable king size bed (We loved it). There was a Nespresso machine which we used daily for our wake up coffee. It’s also great that you receive daily 2 bottles of (Fiji) water.

Rooms were cleaned every day with new towels. The bathroom was really good with a nice Rain shower.

The hotel is located in the center of the Financial District and across the Metro Fulton Street Station. WTC is just 2 blocks away. And it’s even possible to walk over there completely underground via Fulton station and the Oculus. Wall Street is at Walking distance.

This location downton Manhattan is way better then mid or uptown. During weekend and evening traffic is light in the Financial District and it’s not that crowded.

The Fulton street hub is a few doors down the street. You can get everywhere and we used the metro every day.

I arrived at JFK and took the airtrain / train to Penn station followed by the metro to Fulton street to get to the hotel. Our departure was from Newark, so we took the metro to Newark Penn station (departs from the Oculus) followed by the Bus to Newark airport which was an easy travel and took around 40/45 minutes.

Next door is a wonderful bakery with good quality croissants, sandwiches and friendly staff.

The room was pretty warm to sleep but you can set the temperature yourself. During night we lowered the temperature which turns on the airco.

We really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend this hotel.

Review from a picky and skeptic traveler.
Área: a very short walk to trinity church, Wall Street, the WTC memorial. Fulton street MTA hub is huge and has pretty much every train line, it’s directly across hotel. John street is narrow, so when you pull in, you’ll have to hop car on the side walk so you can drop off luggage. Parking lot a short drive away, but ask for directions because it’s easy to miss as the streets are super narrow and unlabeled. Numerous fast food within a block.
Hotel lobby: small, but Extremely clean, it smells very pleasant. Concierge very helpful. Check in was easy. You need a room card to access elevators. If you arrive early they’ll give you a card for the bathrooms. Hallways are narrow but not a problem at all. Wheelchairs fit.
Room: reviews are correct in saying small. However that means smaller than most hotel rooms. We stayed on a double room standard, and we fit a twin blow up mattress easily. There’s room, I was expecting a tiny room but it was not. The bathroom is very modern exactly like the photos, it is small, but not horribly so. Everything is so so clean I had zero complaints. You get free Fiji water every day, nespresso shots, and snacks included in price, cleaning staff does a great job. Beds super comfortable and 4 pillows per bed. We did not order room service but they have an outside place that brings food in. Gym modern and clean. Tv has chromecast. Fridge is the super small square ones, no microwave in room.

Conclusion: all the reviews are true. I was surprised because usually reviews tend to be enhanced but that’s not the case here. Great pick.

This hotel couldn’t have been lovelier! My husband and I stayed for a quick one night “staycation” to soak up the city before moving cross-country and we needed a clean, comfy place to crash after a full, hot day of touristing. Full disclosure, the Petite Queen room is, in fact, the tiniest hotel room I’ve ever seen, but it was just what we needed, as we just had backpacks for our overnight and no large luggage. The room could also work nicely for a quick solo business trip, but if you’re staying longer, one of the larger rooms would be worth it. The night guard who checked us in couldn’t have been more pleasant, despite it being 12:30am when we arrived, and the receptionist at check out was also very friendly and made sure we enjoyed everything. There’s an $11 “resort fee” which covers the 2 waters, chips, biscoff, and nespresso in the room which was a welcome and thoughtful touch. There were so many small details, like a black make up towel, nice toiletries, convenient outlets, and a full length mirror that made this room really stand out. Not to mention the updated, sophisticated design of the rooms, and the large, totally luxurious shower. The blackout curtains and silent A/C made it very easy to sleep in. My only VERY minor complaint was the pillows, which are the kind that look fluffy and then kind of deflate as soon as you lie on them. I prefer something a bit more supportive and substantial. But would absolutely recommend this place and would stay again in a heartbeat, hopefully for longer next time!

I took my 2 teenage daughters on a Mother/daughter trip over Memorial Day weekend and I chose the Artezen based location, safety, bedding configuration (we wanted 2 queens) and proximity to many subway lines, as our trip had us travelling all over Manhattan. The Artezen exceeded our expectations! Check in was super smooth, and I had requested a quiet room with a nice view. Our 5th floor room did not disappoint! Everything was in excellent shape and it was super clean. We appreciated the mini fridge in the room, along with the small touches like a special makeup washcloth, in room safe, and lots of USB ports for our chargers. The staff was top notch...very friendly and readily offered suggestions on nearby places. It poured rain on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, so there were umbrellas available for you to take if you didn't have one. The Fulton Street Subway hub was a mere 1 minute walk down the street. There were plenty of dining options nearby and we felt safe walking around the area, even late at night. I will be returning to NYC in the fall, and would stay at the Artezen again in a heartbeat!

We booked the hotel because of the great reviews but we were disappointed. We checked in late at night to find a note in our room that there would be no running water or toilets from 10am to 5pm the next day. After traveling for about 30 hours we just wanted to collapse into bed but we had to shower and stockpile water.
We spoke to a manager and he had been given little warning of the water outage himself. He admitted that they should have thought of the effect on people checking in on the day of the outage. He gave us a free upgrade and took 50% off the price of our first night.
I don't understand the great reviews as the hotel is nothing special. The staff were great. The doorman really helped us out one evening when the taxi we thought we had booked didn't arrive. He went to the main street and hailed a taxi and brought it back to us. It seems that the only way to get a taxi is by hailing them down. A car service can be booked but that is more expensive.
The location of the hotel is a downside unless you want to be in the financial district. Everywhere there is scaffolding because of some regulation about checking the facades of buildings. Apparently it is cheaper to leave the scaffolding up permanently than to take it down and rebuild it when needed.
The booking sites all say that "breakfast is available". This is not true. We should have got in touch with the hotel to check on this as they did not provide a breakfast option.

Hi pcordue, We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. We are disappointed we did not meet your expectations and apologize if you were not completely satisfied with your stay. Your experience is far from typical of the service we strive to offer. To address your comments, based on New York State law, we are required to empty the water tanks on the roof top each year, have it inspected and then refilled. The entire process takes approximately 4-6 hours to drain, inspect and then refill. We do put notices out to all our guests at least 24 hours in advance but apologize for the inconvenience. We are glad we spoke to you while in-house to get you better situated with an upgraded room and discount. We are happy to learn our concierge staff were accommodating to your needs and were able to help you with transportation. As you mention, we do offer private car services in the hotel and NYC yellow cabs can be hailed in the street if needed. The financial district has become quite popular over those last year or so with many new restaurants, local businesses and remodeling being done. Unfortunately, NYC is known for having scaffolding around while work is being done including a building just next to the hotel which unfortunately, we have not control over. Typically, boutique hotels our size do not have any food and beverage outlets, but we are looking to rent the space to the right of the lobby to a restaurant operation, but we do not have any opening date for that as of yet. We also hope to have our sky lounge open sometime next year so, many great things to come. We thank you for business and we hope to have you back with us soon. Have a great day!

We stayed here for our honeymoon for 9 days, the staff are very friendly from the concierge, reception staff to the maintenance and cleaning staff, the room was big enough as we got the king deluxe, the wardrobe is a little small but we managed, we stayed on the 16th floor in a room that was facing the road some days we heard a little noise but that was just the bin men and didn’t keep us awake, you get daily coffee pods and water in the room the IPad was a great touch for ordering room service, we ordered breakfast on the first day which was on the pricey side but the food was lovely, the hotel does not provide the food it was catered for by an outside service, we found a nice breakfast place just 300m down the road called jubilee market, where they do a great breakfast and is half the price of the room service.

The gym in the hotel has enough for what you need and there is also ice on the fourth floor, we loved our stay in the hotel the bed was comfy and had a great sleep for the 9 days we were there.

The hotel is very close to the Fulton st subway for all directions and if you can’t find a subway ride on those the WTC has a station too, we purchased a metro card for unlimited travel for 7 days which is only $34, we had no trouble getting around.

The hotel is just around the corner from WTC 10min walk under the subway underpass so you dont get cold or at the end of the street, the shops are very close with loads of bars restaurants and takeaway places, we explored all the area for the better deals, it is also in walking distance to the statan island ferry, battery park and wall st.

I would stay at this hotel again in a heartbeat, you will not be disappointed
