My memory of our stay at Sister City is fond. My partner and I revelled in the aesthetic and atmosphere of the interior design of the hotel. We ended up having several meals in the restaurant initially because it was a pleasing space to hang out in, but then appreciating how delicious and equally well designed the food was. Plus great coffee (not so easy to find in NYC, especially for coffee-snob New Zealanders) . My favourite was a breakfast with fresh melon and fig drizzled with oil and lightly sprinkled with basil. Our room was a relaxing refuge from the hectic Manhattan energy, and much like the restaurant and lobby it had that feel of high design but not in your face or obvious. It was a peaceful meditation to look around the room and absorb the subtle details such as the Noguchi stool. Then of course I made the B&O speaker purchase because of the one in the room =) Also the rooftop bar Last Light was grand. I had some local friends along for a drink up there too and they were equally impressed by the magical enclave that is Sister City.

Jay, who works at Sister City in client services, was phenomenal. As nice as the hotel is -- and Sister City is beautiful, with clean rooms and quietly elegant style -- the staff are better. An all-around superlative experience, equal or better to more expensive hotels in SoHo.

New favorite hotel. I loved the simplicity of the check-in and out process. The decor was warm and inviting, yet minimalistic and clean. We had all the amenities we needed without feeling like we were paying for extraneous add-ons. Can't wait to come back.

I was supposed to make a trip to NYC last year in February but United Airlines decided it was in my interest to spend the day at the airport instead of putting me on a plane. I called, informed the desk person I was stranded in Detroit & they waived any penalty for late cancellation of my reservation. So, naturally, when the opportunity arose to come back to Manhattan I wanted to stay at Sister City. So glad I did, every aspect of the stay was wonderful (except one thing!), check-in was seamless, the room was small but gorgeous, Last Light was swell, Floret is a gem and every member of staff was friendly in invariably pleasant. Oh.....the one thing? I'm not a fan of "rainfall" shower heads, give me a regular one & if possible, a wand and I'm absolutely content. A minor point......overall I love this place & look forward to returning.
