Neighborhood
Hell's Kitchen
Just a few strides from the pulsing beat of Times Square, Hell’s Kitchen has a much more local pulse than its buzzing neighbor. The low-key vibe is part of the appeal, but there’s also a new energy arriving in the neighborhood in the form of modern residential buildings with new retail and food shops. Ninth Avenue is lined with restaurants of all types, from tiny Thai hangouts and Italian trattorias to French bistros and Southern cuisine. Just show up hungry and walk up and down the street, you are bound to find something that looks good. For a more classic taste of the city, grab a bite to eat along Restaurant Row (46th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues) before a Broadway show. The Hudson River provides a break from the city blocks with riverside views, piers for boat tours, and parks perfect for a stroll.

The hotel is a small building with about 5 rooms to each floor, a small reception area with a restaurant/bar to the back. Check in was relatively easy although not overly friendly. We got our room keys and headed up to our room using the elevators (not as slow as expected from reading previous reviews). Our room (1804) was small but we didn’t mind considering we were only sleeping in it. However I was disappointed there was no mini bar or fridge to keep refreshments in. Also the view from our room, was looking straight into an apartment building. Therefore we kept the blinds closed 99% of the time. Silver lining - we could barely hear road noise/traffic so we weren’t disturbed! The shower was great and the bed was one of the comfiest I’ve slept in! Our room safe didn’t work when we got there but not a problem. We asked staff to get it fixed and later that day when we got back it was. 2 free drinks at the bar every night was a nice bonus. The location is great if you want to be close to the hustle and bustle! Subway stations at the end of the street, Times Square 2 blocks away and a million food places to choose from! Overall if your looking for a good nights sleep, in a clean bed, in good location, I’d recommend staying here!

This hotel is in the middle of chaotic Midtown, especially because the Port Authority is literally across the street. However, my room was extremely quiet, clean, safe and well-kept. Thanks to the staff, from the front desk (Kayla) to housekeeping, we had a great four-night stay during one of NYC's busiest times for tourists (July 4th).

stay away from this Hilton hotel. The Hilton brand is great, but this hotel fell well short of the Hilton expectations! Staff was uninviting, room was poorly lit unless you open the blinds so the building next to you could see your business, and no coffee maker AND no complimentary coffee!!!

Beware, this hotel is not what they claim to be! Instead of a "welcoming and sophisticated stay" this Tapestry Collection property is old, run-down and not well maintained. My bed was very worn, with noticable indentations from all the previous guests that have slept in the bed. The blinds did not work. The desk chair was broken. The shower did not have much water pressure. ...and to top it all off, they charged a hidden "urban" fee of $25/night for NOTHING!

Lovely people, friendly and professional staff!! Went out of their way to make this a special occasion for my husband's birthday as requested, very special. There was an issue with our reservation, but they were able to fix and upgraded us for our trouble. Beautiful view of the city and parking garage was not too far. Close to Shorty's and a couple of pizza places. Only bad was the shower, it was lovely but could use a caulk upgrade around the base of the shower doors. Still was a nice experience. Will definitely stay again.
