Clean and affordable hotel in a convenient location
I enjoyed the stay as it was in a great location. The hotel is close to the seaport, which has various activities in and of itself (i.e., the market, the Carne Marie restaurant, skating, walking, street vendors, etc.). The hotel is within walking distance from the NYC Ferry and the A train, in addition to other trains. The area is also busy so it is easy to find a cab that will come to you within five (5) minutes or less. As for the hotel, the view was great! My partner and I got accommodated on the seventh (7) floor, which is the last floor. We were able to get a view of the Brooklyn skyline near dumbo. The room was spacious with a lot of storage space if you are like me and like to unpack while traveling. The room was also very clean. However, the bathroom sink was clogged in my room upon arrival and the water pressure in the shower was not to my liking. The water pressure was very low. The hotel staff are friendly and respond rapidly. There is the option of dining in the hotel dining area or getting room service. I ordered room service for breakfast twice and received my food, coffee, and tea within 30 minutes of ordering. The food was fresh and the tea's natural. For food, I tried the steak, mushroom risotto, salmon Benedict, rib Benedict, and the 3 eggs bacon and muffin. I enjoyed their breakfast options more than their dinner options. As their breakfast was tasty while their dinner was either lacking in flavor or too salty. Also, some of their dinner options, such as the steak, did not come with any sides. It was just a steak on a plate and nothing else. I do not particularly enjoy eating solely meat as a meal. That's why breakfast was my preference! The hotel also has a fitness center. The fitness center is small but it has everything an athletic/health-conscious person would need for an impactful workout, such as a smith machine, treadmills, weights, and yoga mats. The fitness center also had complimentary towels and Lysol wipes to help keep the area and equipment sanitary. I would stay here again while in the downtown NYC area without a doubt!
I apologize for the time it has taken me to respond to your review, Jessica. I've recently joined 33 Seaport as General Manager and it took me a little time to get "management" access to the TripAdvisor reviews. I'm pleased to know that you enjoyed our location, found our rooms to be spacious and found our staff to be friendly. I'm sorry to hear that you had issues with the plumbing in the room and with our food service. Next week we're relaunching our Food & Beverage program and we've stepped up our preventive maintenance program for guestroom mechanicals. So, we'll look forward to your return. gary.desoiza@33seaportnyc.com

Thank you for a pleasant stay and addressing our complaints
I am providing an updated review based on my recent experience at the 33 Seaport Hotel. During my previous stay, I encountered an issue regarding the room rates, initially promised as part of the "33 Seaport Insiders" program, offering a 15% discount for guests. Unfortunately, the rates we were charged did not align with the promised value, leading to a discrepancy in our billing. My attempts to resolve this matter were unsuccessful, prompting me to share a negative review. However, I must acknowledge the positive turn of events that followed. Shortly after my online review was published, I received a response from the General Manager, Mr. DeSoiza. He demonstrated a proactive approach and promptly addressed the issue. Upon thoroughly reviewing the incident and the supporting documentation, Mr. DeSoiza took the initiative to refund me the difference I had requested. I want to express my appreciation for his swift response and for taking the necessary steps to rectify the situation. This experience highlights the hotel's willingness to engage with guest feedback and their commitment to resolving issues. While the initial discrepancy was disappointing, I am pleased that the management's intervention resulted in a positive outcome. I value establishments that take guest concerns seriously and are dedicated to ensuring a positive experience. It's important to recognize such efforts; in this case, the hotel's response deserves acknowledgment. It's reassuring that my online comments prompted a proactive resolution, showcasing the hotel's commitment to guest satisfaction. Thank you, Mr. DeSoiza and the 33 Seaport Hotel, for addressing the issue and your dedication to ensuring a positive guest experience. Warm regards, John A

    Our favortie NYC hotel!
My family really enjoyed this adorable hotel. From the moment we walked in, the staff was friendly and helpful. They answered our questions and got us checked in quickly. The location at the seaport gave us fantastic views of the Hudson and the Brooklyn Bridge (which we walked to and over at night). The room was well-appointed, with robes, slippers, and Aveda toiletries. The kids enjoyed the turndown service before bed. The beds were comfortable and everything was very clean and well maintained.
Thanks for the 5 out of 5 rating! We're very pleased that you enjoyed you and your family enjoyed your experience with us. We do our best to offer a friendly, helpful, clean and delightful stay. Hearing that the kids enjoyed turndown is heartwarming. Please come stay with us again. gary.desoiza@33seaportnyc.com

Honestly, one of the best hotel stays I've ever experienced. The balcony rooms are SPEC-FLIPPING-TACULAR!!! The service is impeccable. This small boutique hotel has a staff of familiar faces each day. My first night there, the room I was in had a toilet that ran constantly. They immediately brought maintenance to the room and when it couldn't be readily fixed, they quickly moved me to an equally spectacular room without me even asking. I absolutely intend to stay here again.

This is by far one of the best experiences I’ve had. I love five-star hotels for that much needed break and I wanted to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. Peter at the front desk was amazing and made magic happen to make sure we got this great Terraceview also Dean the love machine help coordinate and bring up a lot of the flowers and balloons And gave me ideas for set up. I truly appreciate hospitality as well as great hotels. This experience, I surpass everything and it was made special because my girlfriend loved it.

We booked this hotel via Amex FHR, in which they upgraded our room to a suite! The suite was very large, especially for NYC standards. The bathroom was spacious, and views from the room were amazing. You have a river and Brooklyn bridge view! The location was great. Easy walk to great restaurants and bars. We walked to Manhatta, an Osteria, local bars, and the ferry to Brooklyn/Dumbo. The breakfast credit was $60, and we had it delivered to the room. Overall, great hotel near FiDi, but probably shouldn’t be an FHR hotel given the amenities. The room was a little loud given it isn’t soundproof, mildly outdated but large room, nice but amateurish front desk.

While the Seaport location is wonderful and the rooms are quite cozy, I was left woefully disappointed with my experience at this hotel. I had booked travel using the American Express Fine Hotel program. Normally, breakfast and an experience credit are provided, but unfortunately after being told there would be croissants and coffee available for pickup, they were unable to offer any breakfast as the restaurant was changing management. The front desk staff was highly variable, but overall the management was poor and difficult to deal with. I was told this was due to the hotel changing ownership, which occurred mid-stay and without prior notice. Having spent over a grand for a three day on my anniversary, I was extremely dissatisfied and would not recommend staying here in the future.

Thanks for your review 715akashj. Your stay with us was most likely sometime in January or February of this year, when ownership and the management company were in transition. I'm happy to say that now (5 months later), our culinary program and lounge are in full swing. I can only apologize for what occurred in the past and I encourage you to return. Please feel free to reach out to me personally when you do. gary.desoiza@33seaportnyc.com

Great hotel - A+ staff experience. checked in and they clearly explained my Amex benefits, upgraded my room. For New York, the room is quite spacious with plenty of shelves and compartments to unpack and not feel cramped. bathrooms modern, separate large shower. extra points for the comfy slippers and robes. wins me over every time :) great, walkable area with the old school new york charm and the staff was fantastic! i have to laugh at some of the reviews because man, people really like to whine about the smallest inconveniences. would absolutely return to this hotel next time.

I stayed at 33 Seaport from Sunday, June 25 - Monday, June 26. I had booked using American Express where one of the perks was early check-in at noon (based on availability) with normal check-in at 3pm. I was scheduling my trip around the 3pm time so I booked a show to go to with my fiancée at 5pm, I arrived to the hotel around 1230pm and was informed the early check-in was unavailable at the time which was fine. I parked the car in the garage around 1245pm on Sunday. After walking around town for a couple hours I returned to the hotel after 3pm to check-in so we could shower and change before going out. I was informed that my room still had someone in it and I was unable to be accommodated in a room until that room was vacated and cleaned. Unfortunately my fiancée and I had to then change in the lobby bathroom and were not able to refresh after a day of traveling and walking around the city. After the show, our room was available and we ate at the restaurant at the hotel. My fiancée's order was incorrect (ordered the chicken but received the kentucky chicken sandwich) however we were charged for the chicken order (the staff did correct this). The next morning we ordered room service breakfast from and her eggs were incorrectly cooked based on her order (which was scrambled). We had late check-out at 4pm but checked out approximately 230-245. I went to retrieve my rental car from the garage and I was charged for TWO nights ($55/night) even though the car was in the garage for approximately 26 hours. They garage attendants refused my keys unless the full 110 was paid. Overall the experience caused a lot of stress on the short time period I was in NYC. I will not be staying again.

Thanks for taking the time to review you stay with us 664troye! I very sorry to hear that you do not wish to stay with us again. I'd like to influence you to try us again. I'm pleased to hear that the food & beverage team corrected their mistake. I know how disappointing a breakfast can be when you're looking forward to the start of a great day. As our hotel is only 66 rooms there can be some difficulty making select room types available; especially when the previous American Express Fine Hotel guest has exercised their 4pm checkout. It can be difficult to offer a 3pm check-in when this happens as we need at least an hour to properly clean and inspect a room for the next arrival. Ordinarily, our team member would offer alternate accommodations. Changing in a restroom is not acceptable. Our partner garage is not owned or operated by us and the 24-hour rule is taken very seriously. That being said, the garage manager (in good faith) should have only charge you for the additional 2 hours or so. Please feel free to contact me at gary.desoiza@33seaportnyc.com when you plan to visit NYC again and I will do my best to assure a 5 star stay.

This father's day I took my husband to this hotel and we had a phenomenal experience. The ambience of this hotel was beyond my expectation. The manager, Peter, went above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. The front desk agents, Rachel and Rose were very friendly and attentive. I had a very pleasurable experience overall and I highly recommend this hotel.
