My adult daughter and I stayed in a twin beds room with its own bathroom - well-worth the extra $10 for the bathroom. The room was compact, had a air-conditioner, cable TV, desk, and wardrobe with a safe for valuables. In need of redecorating in both rooms although very adequate. The The cleaning staff were always obliging. The free computers... More

That is the perfect way to say it, "Like staying at your Granny's house". Or your own place, b/c tell me, who doesn't have things to fix at home and just have not had the time or money to do them? WHO CARES if the paint is peeling, tiles missing....the price is UNBELIEVABLE and it is CLEAN! (And access to... More

My wife and I had one night in NYC after a Transatlantic cruise and stayed at The Leo House. My daughter had stayed there and recommended it. It was clean and comfortable, even if a bit rustic. The staff was helpful and friendly. The location is great. It is close to two subway lines, and it is easy to get... More

This is a church residence, not a hotel. Kind and crusty staff, clean and shabby rooms. A nun who helps you get oriented to the city. Fabulous neighbourhood, and wonderful, unique NYC experience. We felt safe, and even cared for - in a church way, not hotel! Someone described this as being like your granny's house, and that would certainly... More

This is not the Ritz {I find the Ritz pretentious] but it's a clean friendly place in a great location.Until discovering the Leo my budget hotel was on the upper west side. There is no comparison, the Leo is cleaner, has efficient elevators.,a garden, offers a good breakfast, and is approx 50 less The staff was helpful in offering suggestions on local sites.... More

My husband and I stayed one night here because of construction work being done in our apartment. We planned to stay 2, but after one night, we decided to return home. Leo House is a great place if you are looking for a budget place in NYC in a great location, but it's not a particularly comfortable place to stay... More

I don't know if Tripadvisor will post it as my booking did never actually take place. However, I am so frustrated I want people to know! I wanted to make a booking for 8 nights. However, before anything (even before confirm availability) you must fill in a form with your credit card details and get a message saying you will... More

The Leo House is in a good location to get around to see sites in New York City. The staff was not over friendly but was helpful. The rooms are small, but once again, we were there just to shower, get ready and sleep, so that was sufficient. The only thing that happened (thank goodness) it was our last night... More

Although I was pleased with my first stay at the Leo House in April, trying to repeat the experience in July has not been positive. My reservations were cancelled without notification. I only found out by seeing a credit on my credit card statement. Reservations refused to take any responsibility for the action, and told me to resubmit a reservation... More

Staying in Chelsea

Neighborhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighborhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighborhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighborhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
