Another excellent Kimpton stay! We loved the Chelsea location. Our room was clean, comfortable, and unexpectedly spacious. Kathy from housekeeping went out of her way to keep up with our week-long visit...leaving fun notes, and even an extra treat! Service all around was exceptional. My husband and son especially enjoyed chatting with Dino, and the gracious doormen and valets!

I stayed here with my spouse for my birthday trip. The hotel restaurant, The Vine, was good with excellent customer service (given complimentary sparkling wine and waiter suggested food based on his experience). The atmosphere of the hotel in general was quiet and cozy (dim lighting, no crowds in the lobby areas). Upon check in we were upgraded to a higher floor room (22nd floor, corner room 2201) which had great views of the Empire State Building and city below. The room was functional, not very big despite the good views.
The room temperature did not match the a/c readout; it got very cold at night and the blankets on the bed are not heavy or comfortable. I would suggest bringing your own blanket (BYOB). The room was clean overall, but a few hairs were left in the shower from the last guest presumably. The 'Do Not Disturb' button is a cool feature as opposed to using a door hanger.
The wine hour was good as it usually is with Kimpton, and I did not visit the gym.
The location was within walking distance to everything I came to do: Times Square, NYPL, Morgan Library and Museum, Bryant Park, Empire State Building, several food spots.
I would choose this hotel again for a NYC stay.

We typically frequent Kimpton hotels when we travel with our dogs— they have a great pet friendly policy and are super sweet to our pups. Due to so many Kimpton (IHG) stays, we are also climbing the ranks in status.
I booked the Suite during the annual Kimpton sale and it was a great price for a suite in NYC. I called in advance to secure a fridge and microwave for the room— they have mini fridges but no microwaves :( I also let reception know we were staying during my husband’s birthday (they could also see this on his IHG profile) and they said they would have something nice in the room upon arrival. Imagine my disappointment when we opened the door to nothing :( :( meh .
The suite was spacious for the pups with floor to ceiling window views of the city. The infamous happy hour wasn’t the best I’ve experienced at a Kimpton— only wine and the same type each night (Chardonnay and Merlot) meh. There was also no door person and the valet was not easy to find— seemed like there was only 1 person working valet?
If you have pets, there’s not much grass around but our dogs loved the concrete “park” right behind the hotel. There are trees with mulch and lots of space to walk around instead of navigating the busy sidewalks.

We made reservations for two rooms, a king suite and double queen connected. however upon arrival, this was not the case, and told the rooms are not configured that way. Our King suite was clean, not too small, with a sliding door dividing the two rooms of the suite the bedroom with King bed and the sitting area with sleeper sofa. The bathroom was the biggest room with a great rain shower and soaking tub. Two nice sinks with plenty of counter space , plus we all liked the feature of another door to the toilet. The beds even the sofa bed were very comfortable with great pillows and sheets! The Hotel is easy walk to Madison Square Garden. Say Hi to Derek , Trevor the door men, hard working guys! From the hotel we also walked to the High Line, a renovated elevated subway line, converted to a walking path! Awesome walk among the buildings but above the traffic! Take a walk along High Line from 31street south and it leads to The Vessel another walking stairway that is several stories tall and not for the faint of heart with fear of heights! Lots to see and always plenty to do in NYC . The Kimpton does it right and they allow pets! We always enjoy a visit, but love to come home to vermont vacation dash rentals dot com is our home!

Don't book here, it is absolutely not worth the money. I paid $365 for one night to stay in a worn out, outdated, basic room with absolutely nothing tipping on the line of luxury. This is a far cry from a Kimpton property. For starters, the carpet is so gross in the room, bunched up and rippled and a very easy way to trip. The bathroom was ok, towels were crunchy at best and very limited items like soap and shampoo. Our tablet didn't work which is how you use the TV, contact the desk etc. The bed, THE BED is horrible. Nothing more than what you would get at a Motel 6. We were not allowed access to the outdoor veranda where supposedly there is a large screen area. Only place to go outside was in the street or the front of the building. For $365 you would expect at least a bottle of water available to you in the room. Plan to go to the desk and request this where they will give you a tiny bottle of warm water. They do give you coffee in the morning, but absolutely nothing else without paying for it. Not a muffin, not a banana, not a yogurt. And to think we are charged a $20 resort fee (amenity fee for local and long distance calling as well as the gym use). Staff were generally nice but in no way did they provide excellent customer service. The hotel is dark and just didn't feel fresh or inviting outside of the lobby area. I have no doubt for less money you can find a much nicer, more updated and not so work hotel for you to enjoy your stay.

I was really impressed with the atmosphere of this hotel. So relaxed yet friendly and professional at reception, a buzzing bar and restaurants and great views from the two corner rooms we booked on a high floor. The rooms and communal areas were very modern and comfortable and a great location to base yourself for sightseeing.

We spent a week in NYC this May and stayed at this incredible hotel. Our expectations were MORE then met. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly and personable.
When we arrived, we were greeted at the front desk by Jennifer who was extremely friendly and told us she would try to get our room ready for an early check in. She went out of her way to get that done and called us when our room was ready
The doormen (Dino, Alex, Kirk and Derek) were consistently helpful and kind. They were always right there, opening the door, saying good morning and asking what we had planned for the day. Every morning they would give us directions to our destination, and every evening they would make sure to ask us how it was. When one of our phones were left in an Uber after dinner one night, they spent hours making sure we got it back, while Jodi, the manager kept us calm with conversation until our phone was returned to us.
The hotel itself was beautiful with incredible views of the city and located in a very centralized location. Our room was clean with amazing artwork and a huge bathroom and floor to ceiling windows.
The hotel also boasts incredible restaurants with amazing food at a very reasonable price range with a beautiful atmosphere.
All-in-all everyone at the Eventi made us feel like family and it truly is a home away from home for us. This is definitely where we will be staying next time we come to the city, no questions asked.

Be warned. The hotel only reopened 5/18 and they are not at any quality or level worthy of the Kimpton brand. The facilities were essentially abandoned since March 2020 with no maintenance or cleaning. The rooms (we had to move, the 1st one was so bad I refused to unpack) were actually dirty. Splashes and stains on the walls. Actual debris that you could (& I had to because housekeeping works limited hours so they had no one on site at the time) SCRAPE off the wall. The rooms were poorly maintained pre-covid because the furniture looks beaten up and that has nothing to do with being closed for over a year. But the filth is gross. I scrubbed down the walls of the 2nd room (which by the way had trash still in the trash can), the last few photos show what those towels looked like after.

Hi queenasays, So happy that we have reopened on May 19, despite many hotels still being closed and happy to have welcomed back so many team members who have been out of work. Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We hope as the city has opened up and more travelers feel safe to come to New York, we can go back to our normal operations. We do have the option of housekeeping from to service your room from 9am to 1:30pm. We have added some additional cleaning techniques to ensure a safe and clean room. While we can't change the past, we hope you do decide to stay with us again in the future.

This is the best hotel with an ideal location, amazing restaurants and first class service. If you find you are in need of anything they will do their best to get it for you. You truly feel like VIP when you enter their doors. Everyone from the bellmen, front desk staff and housekeeping greet you pleasantly when you stay at this hotel. Great energy as well as being pet friendly.

This has the potential to be a 5 star stay.
So far it has been 2 star stay due to their service and policies which are very inconvenient and nonsensical.
1) Staying for 2 weeks due to business and booked a suite with a premiere city view, requested a high floor. Got a low floor, back of the building view. Asked if they could move us the next day when a room became available. They said yes but — you need to call us before noon tomorrow, we can’t tell you what room you will move to, bring all your stuff downstairs, fully check out and then wait and we can check you back in at 3 PM. Silly. Eventually we escalated to a manger who helped move us once a room was available directly to the new room (like is normal).
2) Got sick during my stay and wanted to order food over the phone. FYI - despite what it says on their website and it being 2023 they do not do room service, or bring uber eats / caviar orders to the room. It’s like a dorm - you need to go downstairs and pick it up from a random table in the lobby. Anyways, I called the restaurant to place the order for pick up over the phone. They said they are unable to take orders over the phone and all orders must be placed in person. Again, why? Foolish. Intentionally wanted to minimize the time I spent in any common space because I was sick. The restaurant staff in person was clueless until a manager jumped in and helped get a basic order placed.
In both instances — basic normal requests were made more difficult and required manager escalation to resolve. I don’t enjoy escalating to a manger. It’s as annoying for me as it probably is for the hotel.
Their rooms, bathrooms, floor to ceiling windows, furnishings, desk space are all beautiful and well designed. Good lighting, closet space and outlets for work. No complaints.
They are super dog friendly which is the only reason this is a 3 star review instead of a true 2 star.

Hi SSGTKG, I am sorry to hear about your unpleasant experience. I will look into this for you as we do not advertise our suites in premiere city views. All of our premiere suites, are between floors 6 to 23 and allocation cannot be booked nor guaranteed. i am very happy to hear that we were able to move you on Sunday, I did personally expedite the suite for you as soon as it became vacant to make it more comfortable for you. I am sorry about the room service still being suspended, but I did chat with our restaurant manager and know that they were able to take care of the breakfast charges for you that day. If you do need anything else during your stay, please reach out to us directly. I hope your trip to NYC is comfortable and hope the start of your 2023 - goes fabulous. All the best, Tori. Not 100% sure but I believe some are. If you call the front desk with a specific request like that, they are very helpful.
Looking at the yes and no answers, suspect it possibly depends on the room grade? Ours had a kettle, mugs, etc and a Nespresso.
