Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

I absolutely love this hotel. Unlike most hotels in NY, the rooms at the Royalton are huge, clean, and provided a great environment for our entire family. The staff made our stay special as well. Their extra attention to detail and welcoming demenaor made it easy to park and unload as well as meet any other needs that came up on our trip. The best part of the trip though was their amazing outdoor pool. Our 4 year old had a blast playing in it every morning while we ate a delicious breakfast poolside. Thank you for a great experience and we will definitely be back!

We arrived on a Sunday to wonderful Nina and Michelle on the front desk. They checked us in promptly and gave us great advice for our first trip in NYC. Juan on the door helped with luggage and supported us during our stay with friendly advice and guidance. The room was clean, bed was super comfortable and the room attended well by housekeeping when we were out. The top floor has a great bar and pool! Swimming in the rain and looking at the Empire State building is a wonderful experience! Great place to stay in NYC!

We had the opportunity to stay at the Royalton over the Memorial Day weekend. We specifically chose this hotel because of it's location and the rooftop pool. Let me start with the pros: Check in was easy. The room was lovely, clean and comfortable with lots of ammeneties to make our stay comfortable. The front desk staff was helpful throughout the trip. Location, near subway and busses was great. Even though the room was on the street, it was not a noisy location. The pool on the rooftop was lovely with a view of the Empire State Building. Here come the cons: Room service was a mess. We ordered one meal to the room. The wrong items were delivered, then exchanged and then still wrong. The pool was too hot one of the days. When we spoke to the concierge, we were told the pool was 101 degrees. It was in the high 70s outside so no chance for a cooling dip. No one went into the pool that day. The hotel sells day passes to local residents (over $100) without any real management to handle the extra bodies. Hotel guest are also paying for the pool in their room rates plus a $40/day resort fee. There were too many people trying to use the same space and nobody was happy, including the pool staff, who were overwhelmed and neglectful. The space was full of dirty wet towels and empty glasses and no one to tidy up. Clearly, this was the biggest negative for me. The Royalton should not oversell a small space that has already been paid for to be used by your hotel guests. This is not a good business plan. Would I stay at the Royalton again? Probably, but maybe not on a holiday weekend.

Thank you so much for your feedback. I'm so glad that you found the front desk staff helpful and enjoyed a seamless check in. I do apologize though for your experience at the pool. Memorial Day weekend is one of the busiest pool weekends of the year, and we should have been more attentive in maintaining the area. I hope we will be able to welcome you back for a more relaxed pool experience later in the summer!

Came and stayed at the Royalton for my 25th birthday and we had a blast. We were immediately upgraded to a room with a terrace which was nice. Enjoyed some cocktails in the restaurant, had great room service etc. Paul at the front desk was very sweet and very available for any and all needs! I would absolutely stay here again.

“The Scottish girls” had the best stay here. Lovely hotel with great staff. The rooftop pool and bar really are the icing on the cake! Great location and generous sized room by nyc standards. Special thanks to James for getting on Dirty Dancing on the projector at the pool on our last night 😍👌

This was my first stay at the Royalton. It is conveniently right down the street from our NYC office and my new "go-to" hotel when I'm in town. The hotel is clean, has a great vibe, and I absolutely loved the room! Bed was comfortable and the bathroom had a large sink and a SOAKER TUB!! The rooftop bar has a great vibe and good food. The service at the rooftop was a little slow, but it was VERY BUSY! We felt the love and enjoyed it very much.
