Stayed for the night with my service bulldog for a mini staycation and couldn’t have been more pleased … the room is small but SO SO well designed… comfortable bed, cool hanging chair, comfy bed and SUPER soundproof. The lobby is H U G E and fun with tons of space to tuck yourself in and read or work … nice vibe and really lovely staff … will definitely be coming back for a stay *if from out of town the location is perfect … walking distance to all downtown attractions and tucked on a low traffic block a stones throw from all major subway lines
Very small rooms. Not even a chair available. Had to take a work call sitting on a swing. No moisturizer in the bathrooms and water pressure is very weak. Service is non existent called the front desk SO many times from the room and the call was never answered. There are NO closets or drawers in the room with only three hangers available to hang clothes on the wall. Tried to ask for more hangers but as stated there was no answer. Have stayed in Marriott hotels for years and this is not a Marriott experience.
Useless. The location is good. The rooms and the service are awful. Rooms: small as everywhere; but to the point that there is no wardrobe - one is supposed to hang clothes on free hangers on a wall which makes a room look incredibly messy. There also is no desk, and there are no chairs. There is instead a bulky and instagrammable but entirely useless hanging chair that occupies the only useful space. Also no fridge/minibar/coffee machine or hot water kettle. Absolutely nothing. Sheets are not ironed. The sheet cover was dirty. There also is no duvet in case one is cold (and where would they store it, there is no wardrobe!!). Same as the bathroom floor: filthy. Moreover, there is no body lotion, no toiletries other than soap, shampoo and conditioner. Service - when I arrived to check in I didn’t see a single smile from the receptionist, she was cold to the point of almost being rude.…
3rd Moxy that I've stayed in in NYC. I'd say fit the same vibe as the others. Small, modern, comfortable rooms. Bed and linens were super comfortable, great automatic shade button and automatic light buttons. Room seemed very clean, I did find a toenail on the floor (not mine) but tried to pretend I didn't see it! I liked that the sink was in the bathroom. The other Moxys I've stayed in, it was in the main part of the room. I ended up working from the hotel before heading home and because the room was small, would have loved to work in the wide open, restaurant like lobby, but the music was super loud even in the morning. Otherwise, a nice stay in a very convenient area.
For those who don’t know, Moxy is the hip, youth oriented Marriott property brand. Expect furnishings to align with that aesthetic. The hotel entrance is one a small side street but not hard to find. Don’t expect bellman or cans outside the door. This is a no frills place. We enjoyed the decor and the bball court and skeball game in the lobby are a favorite for our kids ages 11 and 7. The hotel is very close and easily walkable to all Sept 11th activities like the memorial and museum. There are plenty of restaurants around for easy breakfasts and quick dinners. I was surprised we weren’t upgraded as hotel didn’t seem to be at full capacity. We were on 7th floor facing another building with no view whatsoever. The hotel includes two bottles of water in the room which was nice. There is no coffee maker. You can pay $ for coffee in the lobby or grab one outside the hotel. The on-site shop is tiny with few snacks and nothing else. As expected, most patrons were very young. Room very tiny. Again as expected. Nicely furnished though. I wouldn’t have wanted to stay more than two nights in the space with two children though. Cramped quarters led to many toe stubbings on furniture! There are now cabinets for clothing or closet. A few hangers on the wall. Beds were comfortable. A good stay for how long we were there and what we wanted to do in the area.…
We came yesterday from Uptown to Dowtown to discover this area. I’m a hotel advisor and my job is checking hotels. We checked in on time and I booked a special city view queen room. We arrived in our room 1910. There was no curtain in the room and all the buttons were not working. They checked it for us and tried to reset it but still nothing worked. Then we went to reception and changed our room. The Second room we got is literally looking to a wall. The second rooms no: 1902 and we didn’t like it ! The staff left their cleaning outfits in the bathroom, and the hand soap dispensers are not working and to top it all of the towel were torn. Not small big full torn ! We asked for another room and was told hotel is full, ask tomorrow and maybe we can do something. Anyway there is nothing good to write in this hotel and building and this is literally not Marriott hotel and not Moxy standards. I am very upset I ever stepped foot in this hotel. Avoid at all coast, you will regret coming here :((…
My husband and I had a great time at the Moxy! Every staff member we had contact with were courteous and helpful. We complained about the noise from the ground and they promptly moved us from the 14th floor to the 27th floor With an amazing view. Definitely returning to this hotel on our next visit. I highly recommend it!
ONLY STAY HERE IF IT IS YOUR LAST RESORT. I honestly have no earthly idea whatsoever as to why this racket is rated above one star. The staff hides in the back from their responsibilities, the “hotel” doesn’t provide bars of soap, the showers have no temperature gauge (it’s either scalding hot with normal pressure or ice cold with little to no pressure), rooms sizes are falsified, the showers don’t work when it freezes outside, the basketball court is unavailable due to made up reasons, the “arcade” is a joke, pretend “engineers” are employed, and the general manager was nowhere to be found. No answers if something goes awry, they just hand you the "GM's" card and says it their fault, when they just hide in the back with 15 Plus guests looking for a resolution of their situation. Location is the only appeal to this place, oh yeah, almost forgot, have to go up 3 floors to the lobby. Just false pretenses all over the website. Do yourself a favor and stay at an ACTUAL Marriott.…
Rafael the bellman was the first person to greet us. He was extremely helpful, kind, professional and hospitable. He helped us with our excessive luggage, recommended restaurants and went above and beyond through our stay! Thank you Rafael! People like YOU makes a vacation wonderful! The Hotel itself was clean, hip, trendy and awesome location. Everyone was pleasant. Upgraded us to a beautiful view of the Brooklyn bridge. Rachel and Brian
Love this place! Great rates. Great location could not be more prime location downtown. I keep coming back. Highly recommended. The service and hospitality is A++ great cocktails at the bar. One of the best club / restaurants in the same building. Rooms are perfectly equipped. Slept like a dream - super comfy beds. I’ll be back very soon
