The hotel is a good value central stay. There is a nightclub on the roof that attracts attention but it didn’t interfere with our stay. The weather was beautiful so it would have been nice to sit and have a drink overlooking the city but the quiet bar was never open. The hotel offers good clean accommodation and a good breakfast.

My husband and I went up to NYC to see Bat Out of Hell as an early birthday present to me and we spent the night on at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Times Square. It was our lucky day because we were upgraded to the penthouse on the 32nd floor! Sharika provided outstanding service checking us in, remembered us the next morning, and asked how the show was. She even went out of her way to find ice for me in the morning as the ice machine was unfortunately broke. Brian, who took care of our luggage and gave us some excellent restaurant recommendations, was also super pleasant. I hope Marriott takes notice of these employees who provide a positive impression for Marriott while providing outstanding customer service.

The location to Times Square and subway is very good which is what you need in New York as you do not want to drive there. When we arrived we were helped promptly and our car was taken by the valet. The room was okay, not very big but adequate for New York. The breakfast selection was very good. Depending on when you went down to eat, you either walked in or there was a line up. But they were very quick to clean up and see you quickly. The staff during the day need to be a little more friendly. I asked a simple question and the lady did not even understand what I was saying. I even turned to another guest and asked if I was speaking proper English. We did a problem in our bathroom on the last day. When I called down to the front desk they informed me that someone would be right up. Well it took them 30 minutes to come to our room to fix the issue. The other thing was the elevators. There were only 2 running each day and you would have to wait at least 10 minutes or more to go downstairs. Many people walked down the stairs. This was very inconvenient especially when you are checking out with luggage, who wants to drag it down 20 flights of stairs? If you are staying at this hotel on Friday or Saturday night...be warned for the Sky Room nightclub. There are lines of people outside the hotel and again 1 elevator dedicated to the bar. It was a little crazy those days. Overall the location is what we wanted to Times Square, Broadway and the subway.

We just have returned from a 5 day break in New York staying at the Fairfield hotel. The hotel is in a great location for exploring upper/mid Manhattan and lower Manhattan is only a short metro ride away. The staff in the hotel were very friendly and the breakfast is good enough to set you up for the day. There was sometimes a queue but we did not have to wait very long. The wifi in the hotel is excellent, probably the best I have experienced in a hotel. We never had a problem connecting or using it at any time of the day. The lifts in the hotel were a problem with only two in operation. We were on the 22nd floor and like others we found ourselves on occassion waiting over 5 minutes, particularly early in the morning and we took to the stairs to decend sometimes. Most other times of the day it wasnt too bad. We booked a double room for four, with two adults and two older teens. The room was on the small side plus the beds were small doubles. We managed ok but a larger room would have been better. Overall we were happy with our stay.

I typically pick Marriott due to their level of standard. The room was okay, however there were major issues with the amenities and service. 1 of the 3 elevators serving the hotel was our of order. This would normally be an inconvenience anyone could accept. It meant waiting 10-15 minutes for an elevator when coming in and out of the hotel to get to our room. The hotel features the SkyRoom nightclub on the room, so nights 1 of the elevators becomes dedicated to the night club, so this means 1 elevator for the entire hotel. The wait becomes even worse forcing hotel guests to take the stairs. It is one of the biggest night clubs in Manhattan. Thankfully we were only on the 8th floor. We take the stairs on Fri, 8/31 and Sat, 9/1 at and the trash from the cleaning staff is sitting bagged on every floor blocking the stairs. This is a fire exit. We let the staff know and it is finally removed Sat, 9/1 in the afternoon. We are woken at 3 AM on Sun, 9/2 to the sounds of drunk partiers coming down the elevator. At 4 AM we leave for airport only to once again not get an elevator as they are full for the night club guests exiting. Once again to the stairs but the lobby exit of the stairs is blocked by hanger rack and coat rack for the night club. Again, where is a fire marshall when you need one. Somebody is seriously going to get hurt due to their negligence of fire exits. The lobby and front of the hotel every night are full of drunk partiers. It was especially joyful at 4 AM on Sunday. Every time we mentioned this to the staff, they said they know it is frustrating. Obviously Marriott’s priority is not their 30+ floor of guests, but rather their rooftop night club. I wish I knew all this before I reserved here. Disappointing for the price you pay. Worse of all it is unsafe. I should have taken photos, so people truly understand unless you are looking for a party spot; this is not the hotel you want to stay.
