The Hotel and the style are pretty nice. Unfortunately, 2 things make this Hotel an absolut no go, especially for the high price. 1) Directly next to the Hotel is a massive construction side which is operated 24/7. The noise is so disturbing that you cannot sleep even with closed windows. You even suffer from this noise during breakfast. 2) The staff is really not interested in the guest well being. They are unfriendly and give you the impression that you are not welcome.

Great long weekend stay at the EDITION. We had a 17th floor corner balcony suite. The view was great-- looking directly down 47th Avenue to the river. The rooms are meticulously designed with every detail considered. Our suite had a large soaker tub, separate shower, and heated floors in the bathroom. Beds were very comfortable. The automatic drapes were a nice touch. Staff was very responsive, especially housekeeping. Breakfast at the Terrace was very special the first day as we were sat on the terrace, but the second day in the dining room, the service declined. The food quality was consistently good. It would have been nice to have a few kid-friendly options on the breakfast menu....a waffle, some cereal perhaps? There were no room service menus to be found, not on the app, not on the website, not on the TV...so we never ordered. Too many options right outside. We found it odd that there was no coffee in the lobby in the morning. The in-room Nespresso machines are convenient, but not the same as a hot cup of joe. The rooms are noisy. No question about it. And ours had a huge digital billboard right outside, so even with the blackout drapes there was plenty of light to read with all the lights turned off. I would suggest the hotel include a sleep mask and earplugs in the welcome kit. We bought our own at Duane Reed. This hotel is a great location for seeing everything in midtown. We will definitely stay again, but may sacrifice the view for a bit better sleep quality.

We booked the two-bedroom suite for a girls trip to Broadway. Amazing views of TS from the 37th floor, our daughters were in love. The guest relations even arranged for birthday decorations and a treat in the rooms. Hotel staff was amazing, even when the request was coming from a 12 year old. My daughter had asked for some items and they were brought up within minutes. The doormen even whished her friends happy birthday as we walking in and out during our stay. Room service was some of the best we have ever had, breakfast was perfect. Our only disappointment was parking. We drove down, and I am very familiar with NY as family lives in Manhattan. Upon booking, valet parking was available according to their website. While it may seem like a small thing, when your arriving with children and a car full of bags it can be very frustrating. The street its on is under construction and is one lane only, so your blocking traffic as your unloading. The parking lot is close, only a 5 minute walk or so. On the day of departure, as we lug all our gear out with our luggage and shopping bags, there are no doorman to be found. It leaves a bad taste to stay in a luxury hotel and then at the end of our trip we are dragging our items across TS to our parking garage.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience staying at the Edition on our recent stay in New York City. While its right next to Times Square, the hotel rooms are very quiet. The GM of the hotel was kind enough to arrange for a special cheese board and some festive decorations for our room to make our honeymoon stay extra special. The staff are excellent, the views are exceptional, and the overall ambience and cleanliness is superb. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to New York.
