Fantastic experience at this property! Specifically Gabriel, Marshall and Justin provided consistent high quality service along with Jacob on front door service. Great location as well, we will use this property again.
We loved our stay in a Premier King room. It was quiet, clean and very comfortable. All staff were extremely attentive and personable. We called up for an iron and in less than 5 minutes, it was at our door. Also, they’re offering early check in and late checkout right now, which is amazing. I can’t recommend this hotel hotel enough! Thank you for the fabulous stay.
Perfect location for a trip to NYC! So easy to get to all uptown and downtown sights! I was very pleasantly surprised at how spacious the rooms were for such a centrally located Manhattan location. Special shout out to Jacob, Lee, Gabrel and Sarah for their hospitality :) !!
My best friend and I did a girls trip we stayed here for the weekend. The room was clean, the service was great! Gabriel was so helpful and polite. Great staff and a restaurant downstairs. Wonderful location we got breakfast at Lennwich across the street for breakfast. Lots of shops and food near by. Subway entrance nearby. Can’t wait to go back!!!
This is not a five star hotel. I had a "deluxe king" but there was nothing deluxe about it. The room and bathroom were tiny, even by NYC standards and looked nothing like the website picture, nor does the lobby. AC reved up like an airplane taking off and smoke alarm emitted a constant strobe light. Neither good for sleep. Bed cover was two sheets with a mattress cover in between them. Rug was soggy from minibar leak. Rug in hallway remained dirty for all 3 days I was there. Towels were thin and small. No food was available in the hotel. They offered $20 vouchers for breakfast at a cafe about a block away. Cafe was pleasant but required a 15 minute wait in line to order OK food. Way overpriced for value.
Where do I start? The only positives were the front desk staff and the location. The negatives. The room is very small, the website pictures are very deceiving. The whole hotel is very tired and neglected. The walls are covered in marks, there was a water leak stain on our ceiling, the wallpaper in the hall was falling off, the carpets were stained and not vacuumed for the four nights we stayed there. Of the 4 nights we stayed one of them the 15th floor terrace was closed for a private function and it is closed on Sundays and Mondays. This left one day. There were no coffee making machines in the rooms as the hotel cannot buy the coffee pods as they are not available??? The free breakfast they advertise is a $20 voucher per couple to use at a coffee shop a block away. If you have one coffee and virtually nothing to eat it might cover the cost. We were told it was not served in the attached restaurant as it had been refurbished and had only been open two weeks??? We arrived at the hotel early and were hoping to decorate the room for our son's birthday and marathon run. We were told it hadn't been cleaned and they would call when it was ready. This never happened. We couldn't sit in the lobby and relax as what looks like a spacious lobby on the hotel website is tiny. At ten past nine on our departure day the cleaner wanted us to leave so she could clean it. This she communicated to us using a translation app on her phone as she didn't speak English. With no facilities whatsoever and the state of the place a 3 star rating is more realistic. Unfortunately they charge 5 star prices.…
So I stayed at the Mondrian Halloween weekend, it was a last minute stay and I wasn’t expecting much but my visit here gave me high expectations for every other stay I ever have in New York. I want to mention that the staff was the best part about my stay, Justin, Iliana, Jason, Jacob, Gabriel, Shian, Sarah, Marshall, Moises and Leeangie made my stay smooth between their knowledgeable suggestions for places to visit to their amazing conversations it felt like I was right at home. Thank you Mondrian I can’t wait to visit again!
Booked this hotel under the belief this was of ‘The Mondrian’ quality having stayed in several of their properties previously. Learned (unfortunately) that this is a Mondrian franchise hotel - it operates under the umbrella of ‘The Mondrian’ brand but clearly is not beholden to the same standards in any way shape or form. Highlights - Rachel, the manager on reception, was outstanding - a true credit to this business. Without her, I suspect that the TripAdvisor reviews would be awful. I sense that she’d previously dealt with guests expecting ‘Mondrian’ standard to find ‘Mondrian franchise’ standard. She was courteous, generous and extremely friendly under very challenging circumstances not just from me, but from many guests. - Rooftop Terrace Bar - great vibe, great views of NYC from Floor 14. Well worth the visit. - Location / excellent - on Park Avenue two blocks from 28th Street Metro so easy to get everywhere. Lowlights - No reception / foyer area to relax /meet visitors over a coffee /drink outside of the hotel room - Rooftop Terrace Bar - not open Sunday/Monday. - Breakfast - life has moved on post-Covid yet there is no restaurant for breakfast. They ship you off with vouchers to a cafe round the corner. Be aware - obviously the daily voucher does not cover the full cost of breakfast. - Restaurant - forget it. Rarely open. Seriously underwhelming menu. - Rooms - for the money being charged they were pretty underwhelming (tired, grubby, needing redecoration). We complained and in the end were moved to a great corner room. Eg there are good rooms but not the ones that are given on arrival Nevertheless - Rachel, Front Desk Manager, made the stay for me and my guests from the UK tolerable. However, having booked the hotel at a not inconsequential cost, I expected significantly better. Whilst I would never book here again, I have to say Rachel, the Front Desk Manager, turned a nightmare scenario into an acceptable experience. She gets 5+ stars; however the hotel is no more than a UK 3 star…
This is a perfect location if you want to visit NYC but stay outside of the craziness of Times Square. It’s super easy to get to all major trains and walkable to midtown. Comfy bed, stylish decor and good service. Definitely want to stay here again!
We stayed at the Mondrian Park Avenue for 4 nights. It is a nice hotel in a good location in Midtown. We walked everywhere very easily. The neighbourhood is convenient with some nice restaurants close by - especially for breakfast! (Penelopes, Blank Slate, and Friedmans!). The hotel staff were very nice - especially the two guys who worked at the door. SO friendly when greeted upon leaving or returning to the hotel or helped with any questions - truly made our day! The hotel seems to need some attention to detail as there were a few issues in our room - such as the toilet running constantly - we let the front desk know after the 1st night - it was never fixed. We had to close the bathroom door as it was sometimes loud at night when sleeping. The window to the outside wouldn't lock but if you leaned against it, it would swing open and there was no screen or barrier. A safety risk for sure which we let the front desk know about. The room was nice and the king size bed very comfy - but the pillows were very poor quality. So it seems there is a need for attention to detail with this hotel - people were great - but needs some improvement!…
