I chanced upon The Gregory when two of my favorite staples - The St Regis and the Peninsula - were booked. The smaller, boutique hotel doesn’t have the flair or the haute cuisine or decor of the two, but it makes up for it with great service and decent rooms. The little restaurant downstairs is great for business meetings or a nightcap and the hotel is easily accessible to the Empire State Bldg and other city attractions and the subway.
We were 4 adults. Location very good; porter excellent - friendly; reception lady was reluctant to give us a twin room for our adult son & daughter as requested in our booking; one of the 2 lifts never worked for the 5 days we stayed there; the only other lift was slow & erratic and frequently used by the cleaning staff so it wasn't available for guests; the stairs were a health hazard - narrow marble steps which were worn & the banister on one side was semi-submerged into the wall; night 2 was terrible: the air conditioner unit was sited through the window and as it rained most of the night, we had rain dripping constantly onto the unit making a constant noise - we had to ask to change rooms; food was served in the bar area which wasn't very inviting; bedrooms were clean & tidied daily - no issues …
It was our first visit to new york and we stayed in gregory hotel. It was a very nice hotel and we really liked Mr Bogdan, he was so nice and always ready to help. The rooms are so good it just felt like home. We really enjoyed our trip and we would strongly recommend the gregory hotel if you actually want a good sleep after a hectic day :) Good work team gregory 👍🏻
The hotel is well located, room was great, everyone at the front desk was really helpful. Bogdan and Ivan were both really helpful and welcoming and made sure I had everything I needed which I greatly appreciated. Checking in and out was super easy and the room had everything that was advertised. Definitely recommend.
We stayed at this hotel from 13 March to 17 March. The staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. Any questions we had regarding the city they were more than happy to help. A big thank you to Bogdan and Brian!! Room was clean and a good size. Room was tidied and beds were changed on a daily basis. Brendans restaurant is next door and is attached to the hotel without the need to go outside. It was fantastic for breakfast and a great bonus was the free tea and coffee included in your stay which is also available to take out. The location is spot on. The Empire State Building and Times Square are a 5 minute walk away. Would definitely recommend this hotel and we will be staying again in the future.
