We booked this months ago, only to be told 4 nights in advance that the hotel has been closed most of the year and they were moving our reservation to the Times Square location. Why take reservations they had no intention of honoring?

I booked 6 nights here several months out. About a month before the stay, I received a mysterious email not from Hilton informing me the hotel was closed and I was being moved to a non-hilton hotel. I called Hilton first to try and confirm this wasn't a scam, they knew nothing about it. Was given the run around for a while then finally told yes, the hotel would be closed, that Hilton the brand couldn't help me, just the owners of the actual hotel (who sent me the mysterious email, after all). The hotel I was moved to (Hub hotel), was in a worse location, had no restaurant, no fitness center, and did not honor any portion of my Hilton Honors benefits. I received no points for the stay as well. I fell victim of a hotel bait and switch.

When I arrived in New York I was exhausted after the long flight but luckily the staff were so uplifting it cheered me up. As upon arrival we were gifted a bottle of water and warm cookies. The rooms were clean but basic but you’re not really in them when in New York. This hotel is a few minutes walk to Times Square making it close to everything. Only having one lift working a time was annoying. Some of the staff had an attitude but most were nice. The hotel arranged a taxi for us to tack us to JFK. Overall it was a good stay

I will definitely stay in any hotel by Hilton - especially DoubleTree. Thank you for making me feel safe. The place was spotless, the room had a view of the Empire State Building and the beds were so clean, smelled so fresh and I actually had a great night sleep.

Staff is always helpful and kind. They continued to provide solid service with a friendly manner despite there being a city-wide and national emergency regarding the virus, I look forward to returning again in happy and safer days.
