Everything was lovely. I would recommend this place to everybody. It is near the subway (155st), so even if it is in Harlem, it is very easy to reach Midtown. The decoration is very authentic, and there was a lot of space in my Suite, with a private kitchen and bathroom.

We stayed in Saints Nicolas Inn: Four persons in The blue room for seven nights. The place in general has a friendly atmosphere and the townhouse is very charming. The host is preparing a very nice breakfast for he's guests every morning and if you're up to it, the morning table is a great place to have a good conversation...

If you're looking for a 5-stared hotel only cheaper, this is not the place. But if you prefer something special: a homely place with patina and charm (re-using another guest's words because they fit so well) in a quiet real people-neighborhood and very close to the subway; breakfast in a cosy town house kitchen with the inn-keeper and other guests...

It is hard to review Saint nicholas inn as after months of planning I received notice the day before my arrival that they couldn't fulfill my booking and I was switched to a different BandB . This BandB was not somewhere I would have booked of my own accord ( although the lady running it was friendly and helpful )...

My family and I stayed there for five days during our recent visit to New York city. The ambience is nice, the Host was very helpful. The breakfast was delicious. The subway is very close by. The neighborhood is very safe. I would definitely stay there when ever I am in New York city.

What a nice place with patina and charme. Very good located close to the subway station to go down to Manhattan (20 min). We booked the private room with bathroom. Lawrence - the innkeeper- prepares a lovely breakfast each morning with fresh fruits and wonderful tasty pastries. He is very helpful and gives good tips to explore the city. We...

The St. Nicholas Inn, a 3`story brownstone bed & breakfast, is a good value but one should be aware of its limitations. There is no handicap access; to get to the front door you must clime up some irregular steps. The rooms are on the second and third floors, and you should be prepared to haul your luggage up the...

The place itself was great. Comfortable bedroom and good facilities (whilst shared, never had an issue in accessing what I needed). Breakfast was continental in style which provided a contrast to most of the food you'll get in New York. The only significant issue is that the location is quite far from many of the major tourist sites in New...

Staying in Harlem

Neighborhood Profile
Harlem
As a hub of African American culture, Harlem has played a vital role in the history of New York City. Today, the neighborhood is as vibrant as ever as new businesses and developments go up next to local institutions. The heart of the neighborhood is bustling 125th Street, where street vendors and historic landmarks like the Apollo Theater mingle with big-name stores. Turn down almost any corner, and you’ll discover some of the most beautiful blocks in the city, filled with handsome brownstones, soul food restaurants, corner shops, and scenic parks. For a taste of a real New York neighborhood, it’s hard to top a visit to Harlem.
