Set in a historic building in the Flatiron district, the Ace is where you want to stay if you'd like to feel as if you've been dropped into a modern work of film noir. You also have all the comforts of a hip modern home—a record player, a Smeg fridge stocked with small batch ever

What a beautiful review! You're a fantastic writer and I can't wait for the release of your next book! Really it's truly an honor to be the recipient of such prose. Thank you for staying with us and for this great description of who we are. Come back again soon! Jeff and the Staff at the Ace Hotel NYC

Hotel was very dark. Room was generally ok but very minimalist and felt dingy maintenance wise. Hipster concept was interesting if you enjoy that sort of thing. Nicely stocked mini fridge. The radio / music player was cool.

Many of the rooms do have both white and charcoal painted walls with unique art work in every room. And while each room is totally different, we're happy to find a new room that fits your vibe to make sure your stay is great. After hanging out underneath bright city lights all day, maybe a little contrast adds some well-deserved respite. Good music and some great snacks help too! Thanks for staying with us. As with all hotels in New York this was not cheap and I believe that there is a need to provide both a reasonable service and good accommodation.

It started badly in that when I arrived (after the check in time) my room wasn't ready. Reception weren't interested in being helpfu

There's a lot that seems to have gone wrong here and I thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. Obviously we'd prefer everything to go perfectly and for you to love your stay, but we'll always work hard to make sure you're happy in your room. There's someone at the front desk 24-hours a day who can move you to a new room, as all of our rooms have different layouts and furniture and original artwork. There are engineers and housekeepers 'round the clock ready to fix any issue that comes up. There are dimmers on our lamps so you can set you set the lighting mood you want. I know you said you won't be back, but I'd love the chance to show you our brighter side if you give us the chance. I'd happily buy you a drink and talk more about your stay. I spent over 600.00 on this hotel and it was awful. Small, stuffy the rooms were SO HOT and they can't turn the heat off. The rooms are dark gray and dingy and depressing and the lighting looks like you are in a bad dorm room.

So I had written a review before about Ace. I deleted it as I wasn’t sure editing was fair. So checked in and that was perfect as host was very friendly and professional. Room was ok size but if you had a kid with you it would probably be very tight. Bathrooms are small and not m

We do have many different room categories available and every single room has a unique layout, original artwork, and furnishings. If you're ever looking for a different vibe let us know at the desk and we'll find you what you're looking for during your NYC trip. Our lights are on dimmers, to give you the control you want in setting your mood. There is a housekeeping staff here 24 hours a day, so anytime you want your room serviced there's a NOW sign for the door, and alternatively, the NOT NOW flip side means that no one will go in your room at all. I know every hotel is a little different so we're always at the front desk ready to help you make this adventure really great. Jeff + Staff at the Ace Hotel NYC

Ok for teens?
I wouldn't say this is the best hotel for teens or families, but there isn't any particular reason they couldn't stay here.

Hello, does anyone know if the Ace offers an umbrella borrow service? It would be one less thing to pack which would be helpful.
I believe they do offer an umbrella borrow service although I have only ever used it at another Ace property.
