This is my third stay at an Ace (twice in Portland), so we knew what we were getting into. First, the amazing: the view of the Empire State building was spectacular. Second, the great: really roomy, fabulous shower with good pressure, solid bath products, robe, TWO luggage racks ❤️, good sheets, great lobby, super-friendly and helpful staff, clean, location is convenient to Penn Station and you can easily grab a bus up Madison to the Upper East Side museums (this is what people in Manhattan do), Stumptown off the lobby. Third, the meh (only 4 stars): our bed was too soft and was kind of sagging in the middle and we were next to the elevator, which was fine for me, but kept my husband up. It was also a little too warm and he had to open the window and run the AC in January (I slept through all of that). Also, if you're not used to NYC, please drink the tap water instead of buying bottles. It's good. Really, it is.…
Love this hotel. Great rooms. The staff is amazing. The staff is super accommodating and go out of their way to help. Great hotel lobby bar. Love the atmosphere. This is my office away from home when I’m in nyc.
The hotel was great except there was zero hot water my entire visit (01/15/23-01/20/23). I was told by the front desk at check out there was a hot water outage and they would look at adjusting my bill. This was being expensed by my company, so I could care less about that. Taking cold showers in the middle of January in NYC was ridiculous. Hope they can somehow make this right. For a hotel of this caliber, no hot water is unacceptable.
Have not been back to NYC or the Ace since Covid hit, and we were back for 2 nights this January. The ACE upgraded our room to a fabulous corner room with views of the Empire State building. Huge room! Lots of light (5 Windows)! AND...a hand written note welcoming us back with drink and breakfast vouchers! Love the ACE. Friendly staff. Totally rocking public spaces with free wifi! Great example of Retrofuturism. Wow! The only thing we did not like was that we had to leave.....
There was a mistake with the date of my booking. Freddy was so incredibly helpful, patient and reassuring. He worked with us to make it all work. It was a pleasure and I enjoyed being at the hotel more knowing people like Freddy were working at the hotel.
Great Hotel, I've stayed there dozens of times because it is comfortable, well located and witty. I like art and this hotel is artfully designed and well located near Chelsea galleries. In addition a new very delicious restaurant just opened off the lobby. Also, many of the rooms have a guitar and record turntable.
This wasn't my first time at the Ace Hotel in Manhattan, nor will it be my last. This is my favorite place to stay in NYC for a variety of reasons. The location absolutely cannot be beat. The Lobby Bar is a wonderful space, there is a Milk Bar bakery downstairs, all of the hotel staff are so cool, and the rooms can't be beat. I had a double room this time, with an extraordinary view of the Empire State Building, a turntable with curated LPs, a guitar to play, a SMEG fridge as well-stocked mini-bar, and the original art in each room that I've come to love. On top of all that, a friend told the front desk I'd just lost a family member, and they went out of their way to make me feel extra welcome with a personalized welcome note, drink tickets, and a room upgrade. I love the Ace Hotel Manhattan and can't recommend it highly enough. …
Such an awesome hotel. Great location, great vibe. Huge king sized room that was unique. Rates are great post holiday season. We had brunch at the new restaurant next door. Lovely. We will be back. Pic of our view of the Empire State Building from the 11th floor.
What do you need from One hotel when you travel in vacation?! A good location close to all sightseeing points, near to metro or bus station, connection to JFK airport. Yes, they have them all. But you want to feel like a rockstar in NY. Check the loft room :) guitars, vinyl player and records, a mix of new and vintage style furniture and a extremely confortable bed king size; all things in the right place and amazing view to Empire State Building, 5th avenue and Time Square. The muse is there, you just need to play the music. And if you get hungry just reserve a table to Koloman Restaurant, it’s downstairs with entrance from the lobby and food really rocks. If you’re not hungry, just try the bar covered by the US vintage flag and try any drinks, the atmosphere will keep you busy few hours or up to midnight. And then you can continue to party in the city anywhere, you already have the NYC identity. Ace services for amazing place. Looking forward to come back.…
Each of the staff members were extremely helpful during our visit. But, Freddy went above and beyond! Great location, connected coffee shop, bar, and many nearby restaurants and shops. I highly recommend The Ace Hotel.
