If you are considering staying at this fine hotel, let me save you the trouble & just BOOK IT! Don't hesitate and go for it! I've always been a fan of the Ace properties, frequent the Palm Springs & NOLA locations. Every hotel feels like a new experience where you are transported into another time. The building itself is very impressive & historic. When you arrive you are greeted by the most delightful front desk staff & instantly you feel like an old friend returning to visit! Just thinking about my experiences so far gives me chills, as I recently started doing work travel again I was a bit nervous to go alone. But when I got to the Ace I felt secure, safe & "at home". The rooms are all unique and feature local art which truly is part of the fun when you open the door. I've stayed twice within the past few months and assure you I will be returning for every business trip if I can. The rooms were spotless & I consider myself on the side of overly critical. Saying that I was truly impressed with how impeccable the rooms were. The lobby is a whole VIBE, where you can relax in the morning with coffee or a cocktail to top off the day! The beds are beyond comfy, love the robes provided & the pillows are made for a princess. I would know, I even bought them for my home! The bathroom showers feel like a waterfall & love that beautiful shampoo, conditioner & body wash is provided. Makes packing a bit lighter & love that it's sourced from Japan!! Special shoutout to David for always making sure I feel right at home. Thank you so much to everyone at the Ace, I can't express how grateful I am to have found such a great place to rest after the chaos of the city! It's great to know I always have a place to call home in NYC!! Cheers!!…
I had such a beautiful experience with Freddy today at the Ace Hotel! Even with graduation and a ton of other things going on in the city, he made sure to exceed my expectations. He found a room that is PERFECT for me and made sure to give me a tour before so I knew how everything worked and how to get there. 10/10 recommend staying here, and I hope everyone gets to experience the greatness of Freddy at the Ace Hotel! The lobby (and its staff) are also fantastic! Freddy recommended the chicken flatbread and now so do I.
Such a beautiful hotel in the heart of NYC! The rooms are huge and very clean. The staff is impeccable. I couldn’t gush more about this hotel. I will be spending all my future trips to NYC at the Ace hotel, guaranteed!
Did a quick weekend here. One of the best experiences in NYC. David hooked me up and made this weekend very special for my girlfriend and me. Staff, rooms and service is top notch. Best bang for value and the location makes it easy to get anywhere you need.
I'm an avid business traveler and travel all over the world, often requiring long stays. And there's no better staff to make you feel welcomed than the staff at The ACE. They remember your name, ensure your comfort, and have the best local reccomendations. They clearly have a few All-Stars, but Freddy definitely stands out. He's got great style, keeps it friendly yet respectful, and has all the best recc's for local fun and dining. The rooms are great and comfortable too with everything you need for a comfortable and fun stay in the middle of Manhattan.
Apart from its central location, avoid this over priced poor quality hotel which is so self-regarding it’s forgotten that it’s purpose is to serve customers. Obsessive about being so hip, their basic design and customer service is woeful. Plus side - the room was big for a New York midtown hotel. Downsides - whole hotel is deeply gloomy and unnecessarily dark as was the room which had negligible lighting; shower was very low pressure; the mattress wasn’t the greatest and the bed was wedged between two walls with tiny space to get to it; I don’t need a guitar and a record table in the room, I need drawer and closet space; the lifts are frustratingly the slowest invented. Don’t bother going to the coffee bar in the lobby because it takes them ten minutes to serve you; the lobby area of which they’re so proud is so dark you can’t work in it and is loud all the time. And having left my AirPods in the room on departure, when I contacted security, they couldn’t have been less interested in the fact that they hadn’t been handed in.…
What can I say about the Ace Hotel? It’s not your typical cookie-cutter hotel. It’s funky and cool, with decor like an edgy New York City apartment. The room was comfy, the beds amazingly comfortable, with welcoming touches and fully equipped mini-bar. I wanted to put the cool light fixtures in my purse (but I didn’t!). The service was friendly and attentive. The front desk staff was so cheerful. We were having trouble trying to stream a show and they sent someone up quickly. He was nice, too! My daughter goes to school here so I will definitely make the Ace my new favorite place to stay.
Downgrade in ACE Image speaks by themselves! This is was you get at ACE for close to $500 by night. Such venues used to friendly welcome their guest in an informal manner. That the reason we like to stay at ACME in Chicago, at HOXTON in London and in many other places at Mama Shelter. This use to be the warranty of a nice stay. In NYC, August 2019, room 1217 was disappointed after an amazing stay at ACE in LA. Last December, sister’s houses in LA in Palm Spring was heavenly. Therefore we gave an other chance to Big Apple 29th Street with an upgrade to a larger room. In 2019, Room 1217 was a disappointment. The room was clumsy in a form of a Z but the view on Empire State was just amazing. This was a medium size room. The proximity with the elevator was an nuisance. It smelled dust around the bed. In 2022, Room 919 was proposed. Despite the size of the room, there might be a king of fenshui iatus that make the room quite inconfortable even though it is large with a couch. Opening bathroom’s door, that a shock. Toilettes, bath and sink fits in 2 SQM max. Some toilettes are bigger than this. It is claustrophobic. Getting to the reception I explained that I would prefer a bigger bathroom. After 40 minutes and 5 to 6 différents people (with a white air guy who disappeared after telling me he would check with his boss). They propose an option. Every single time I had to get back to the desk. This would have been wise to come and get me in the lobby. They proposed a room and I asked to see it. It “pissed” them off. Finally someone show it to me. The 1017. The same awkward room as the 1217 with amazing view. At least the bathroom was small but from an acceptable size. Seal siles are black. I was intrigued the day before leaving. So I used a tissue to check them at the level of my shoulder. This was properly disgusting. I mention it to the desk showing pictures. I recall the downgrade for which they propose a discount of $80 ($40 for two night). We spend the all day out and come back to pick up our luggage before going to the airport. The same white hair guy was behind the desk. Without saying a word he call someone with his talkie walkie. No one offers to find a taxi for us. We walked under the rain and find one after at least 30 minutes. All in all this is not cool at all and such venues should no longer be mentioned into LVMH Guide. This was our 25th birthday and you expect everything to be perfect and cool. Such a disappointments.…
The hotel and room was ace. A really nice size, very cool room and great shower. The bar was always lively and served great cocktails too. The location was perfect to explore all of Manhattan. Highly recommend and would definitely be my first choice.
We had drinks at the lobby bar which was the best decision. The lobby has a great atmosphere and the fries and Buffalo wings were fire. The rooms were also great. Can’t wait to come back again next time I visit New York City
