I booked a room for May 2020. The hotel chose to close on their own accord for the months of April, May, and June. They won’t issue me a refund; instead they want me to rebook. I have no plans to visit NYC any time in the next year so I am out the money I put up for my prepaid deposit. Very disappointed in the fact that they failed to provide the services on the date specified per our contract and are keeping my deposit.

If you are looking for a clean hotel, in a great location, and you do not need all the whistles and bells of a 4 or 5 star this hotel is the place to go! I found this hotel while looking to stay in the upper west side. It was perfect. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. I will be back to this hotel while coming to NYC for business. The price didn’t make a dent in my budget at all! Great job Royal Park!

I stayed at the Royal Hotel for two weeks, and it exceeded my expectations in every way. The staff is friendly and conscientious, and the place clean (though it is an older building). The neighborhood is wonderful, with great restaurants, markets, and subway connections. And the price was extremely reasonable for NYC. There was no bathroom in the room, so this should be understood. But the ones in the hall are fine. I would stay here again.

This is a terrific hotel-hostel to stay in at a very reasonable rate if you want to enjoy Manhattan. The people are great from Denise to Luis to all the support staff. I prefer the hostel option since it gives me all I need -- private room and shared bathroom. Note that even though the bathroom is shared, I rarely have to wait to use it. In summary, really nice people. Great location on Upper West Side near Central Park. Safe. And Clean!

This is actually one of the best affordable hotels in New York City. The staff is exceptional and extremely friendly, always up to help and give you a wonderful experience. The rooms are clean as well as the bathrooms, we’ve been staying here for several days the limit is 14 days. The location is fantastic so many restaurants around, so many places to visit and the main subway is about 2 blocks. Central Park is very close if you wanna have a walk and admire nature. In general this Hotel deserve 5 stars ⭐️ thank you for such amazing experience!!
