As a NY-er of 10 years, I had to stay at Standard E. Vil. for the night of my wedding and it was even better than expected! Standard upgraded us to a corner room overlooking downtown, perfect for getting ready + pictures, we had our "first look" in the lobby and they sent champagne and sweets! The friendly service at the Standard hotels has been a mainstay in New York since they opened here and I couldn't be more thrilled to have stayed with them on my wedding night. We had sweet messages on the day-of and after our stay from all of the Standard staff - front office manager Will and the guest experience manager Maggie, and they made any accommodations they could to facilitate our stay (making sure lost friends and family found our room, letting us in early for hair & makeup, holding the dress up front, you name it)! So appreciative of the kindness and thoughtful service of the Standard family!…
The staff here are so nice and helpful. Shout out to Khori in particular! A bit of constructive criticism about the rooms though-For the price I would have expected nicer rooms. The view was nice but the room was tired-needs a refresher.
The staff are great - genuinely friendly and helpful. The location is great. The shower is great. however, the room is/was tiny - so small that there was no privacy in the bathroom - and by the time you pay all the taxes + + + + $30 per day for complimentary water ???? how is that complimentary ??? ..... it works out very expensive for a very small room. No, we wont be returning, but thanks again to the wonderful staff.
I stay at Standard EV all of the time, and the team is just so damn special and kind to us. They help with whatever we need, and are just generally so pleasant! We feel so lucky to have a place to stay while we work that feels like home!
You can't go wrong with this hotel! The other reviews did a good job covering everything. They paid attention to our requests before our arrival. Everyone will go out of their way to assist you. The entire crew is extremely kind and helpful. The heated floors in the bathroom are ideal for any season. I suggest the hotel and its location near NYU in Cooper Square.
Stayed one night as a mothers day staycation gift. Really loved the people who greeted me at the front desk--they were super helpful and friendly and funny! The room, which was upgraded to a higher floor, was small and in dire need of a good clean. There were weird stains on the headboard and bedside radio, the outlet box next to the bed didn't work and it just felt kind of grimy. Would be amazing if it felt a little cleaner.
I had a lovely stay in this wonderful hotel in the East Village area. Fantastic view from the 20th floor; great bar, restaurant. Service and housekeeping staff were incredibly amazing and helpful. My two complaints concern mornings and evenings. It is unconscionable that a hotel of this caliber does not have any way of providing early rising guests with coffee: no in-room Nespresso, etc; no coffee pot in a communal area; and cafe wasn't open. Had to walk to a nearby 7 Eleven for canned coffee. No bueno a this price point. Similarly, the bars closed a bit early for a nightcap. Other than that, I would almost be willing to stay there again.
Great front staff, could not have been nicer. Although in upgraded room,it was very small, neede a good cleaning, more plugs would have been nice. Good hotel but not a good value, even in an expensive city like nyc.
We stayed one night for family get together. Pros: Friendly helpful staff Easy check in Good restaurant and bar Cons: Rooms are not clean, stains on carpet, bed sheet HVAC grill filled with dust balls
2 days back from staying at the Standard I discover the hotel has made a whopping error in billing. In their favour. Double billing with a wrinkle. Weird add ons that also make no sense. Need to call my bank right this minute.
