FACILITIES- Only found out that there was a kitchen area and lounge area by seeing a previous review on Trip Advisor, otherwise I also wouldn't have known about it as staff didn't mention the areas. The kitchen is decent, filtered water, basic kitchenware and a stove. I'm not sure if there was a microwave though. The kitchen is small but... More

It is in the great location. But the Internet connection is not very good. You should be expected better Internet connection in New York especially in the downtown Manhattan. The rooms are very small with that amount of money you can have better rooms on Airbnb.

Stayed here at the end of May for seven nights. After a large queue it was my turn to go to an available member of staff at the desk, went up.. for her to be rude and tell me to wait ' I haven't even called you up yet'. Didn't let it bother me and waited.. Unfortunately they forgot to... More

Stayed in room with bunk beds with a friend, it was cosy but was big enough for the two of us to store cases. Surprisingly quiet even with lots of school groups. All staff were really friendly and helpful. I'm staying here again in September.

This Y is very well located and it is good value for money as far as accommodation is concerned. Gym is very good. Wifi works very well too. Booking in advance is necessary in order to get the right room for your requirements.

I have mixed feelings about the Vanderbilt YMCA. It's in a great location and VERY convenient if the United Nations is on your itinerary. To say the rooms are small and basic is really, really accurate. The private rooms are teeny tiny and you have to share a bathroom and shower. That's not so bad - hey, we do it... More

Great location for getting a feel for new york.excellent security, great service of rooms. If you're on the larger side u might find it a bit cramped but the single room had bed, fridge, desk and TV...what more do u need on holiday.oh kitchen isn't that we'll stocked for cooking but had cold/hot water on tap and ice machine. I stayed at the YMCA for about 3 weeks. The YMCA is very centrally located in Manhattan and very reasonably priced compared to other hotels in the vicinity of Manhattan. Its convenient to many facilities nearby such as the metro and there are many restaurants around the YMCA. It was very safe and fairly clean. As it provides shared bathroom... More

If you looking for just a place to sleep this is the right hotel, no comfort at all, the room is very small, and old, but OK. the showers are very clean and large on every floor. This hostel is especially for students only , the staff is very friendly ! good price and good location.

I didn't use any of the facilities while I stayed here, I went on a school trip as part of a large group of 40. We stayed in very small rooms with barely any room for the both of us that were sharing a room to move. The rooms where very run down and the bathrooms were disgusting. The showers... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
