Service is great as is the location. It’s very expensive for what you get. Breakfast and lunch menu simply doesn’t change. Breakfast gets boring. Gym is good and pool ok. Rooms are nice but somewhat dated. I always have a problem when a hotel does not provide an option for a glass of wine at 10pm when they have sold out the two bars to other functions (and rooftop closed) and that really annoys me when you are already paying $1500 a night!!!!

Hotel's Favorite
My daughter and I had the most wonderful stay at the Peninsula NYC. We were so impressed with every single encounter, from the front desk (Ester was so charming and welcoming), doormen so helpful, bellman, room service... We were made to feel very special and valued as a customer. Also the hotel was so beautiful, clean and quiet rooms (little to no street noise, which is rare in NYC) and omg, the bed was luxuriously comfortable! They gave us an upgrade upon arrival which was so nice, and set the tone for our stay as special! We had a few special requests for gluten free and dairy free item from room service, which they provided without making us feel high maintenance for asking. The food and drinks were delicious and it was not a long wait for the food. The rooftop bar was extraordinary and a special place to be. I did not experience any snobby pretense, that I have experienced in other 5 star hotels, from anyone we encountered. Hand sanitizer and wipes were provided in room, and all staff wore masks at all times. We will be returning to this special hotel! Thank you for everything! We really felt valued and VERY comfortable.

There are many fine hotels in NY that each retain a uniqueness in terms of character and feeling. To be fair many hotels in Midtown are well located and serve a purpose. Peninsula goes above and beyond this in terms of it's people. They were incredibly focused and I felt driven to make your experience the best it could be. The room I had was beautiful and the bed and pillows were ( I know it sounds cliched) absolute perfection. I loved the fax machine in the room - I know it completely irrelevant but just a wonderful touch. Not really a gripe but a kettle in the room would have been welcome. Thank you to all at the Peninsula for making me feel so welcome. Special mention for Donika.

I checked in on a Tuesday and stayed through Sunday. The management, doormen, bell, front desk, housekeeping, literally everyone that works at this property are the best of the best. I had a couple of special requests through my work that a normal hotel would not have accommodated. They did so and not only did it, but had it ready to go within an hour. It was amazing. I have stayed at many fine hotels I travel both domestically and internationally, and I believe the Peninsula rates right at the top.
