With a preference for Hilton-branded properties, I selected this hotel for my overnight stay based on location and price. Bottom line: There are better choices elsewhere, especially now when hotels are seriously competing for business. Good points: Rooms are clean and tastefully furnished. Location is convenient to Times Square, one block from the 8th Avenue Subway, and there's a take-out pizza joint a few steps away for a decent late night feed. Staff are cordial and try to be helpful. Not So Good Points: Little things were left out, such as no hand towels or washcloths in the room, no cups for coffee, and long waits for an elevator at busy times (I waited over 10 minutes at one point) if one is on a high floor. Lack of staff at front desk when I needed something, and an impossibly long line at checkout, since only one person was working the front desk. (Fortunately I was checked out automatically and didn't have to wait in that line.) Bad Points: Climate control in the room did not work. Apparently there's a central systsem for the building, but there is a little thermostat on the wall that can only be switched on or off and set to a temperature. No setting for "heat / cool" but that didn't matter, since the thermostat did nothing. I could not get the system to work and thus had a freezing cold room, made tolerable only by taking the duvet from the second bed and adding it to the first. Also, lobby was a zoo with hordes of people milling around late at night and in the morning. Felt more like a bus station than a hotel. There are better choices elsewhere. I just canceled 3 upcoming stays for this property and rebooked them elsewhere.…
Good hotel. Staff was great (Fanny & Ana) both patient, professional and informative. The room was clean and modern but there was no stationary. I wanted to leave a thank you note for Housekeeping. I notice the same thing at a Hilton Garden Inn as well. I’m guessing those have been removed to cut costs. The neighborhood is a bit rough tho. FYI.
I had a standing reservation for Jan. 20 but a week before then I received an e-mail from Hiton/Doubletree offering to cancel the booking with a waived cancelation fee (I was not even within the cancelation period) and I ignored it yet two hours ago received a second mail from them stating that they'd just gone ahead and canceled the booking. Called the property who tried to blame the travel agency and have now spent two hours with Hilton International whho insist that I call another of their offices and sort this out (I am in South America now) and again they tried to blame the agnecy. The agency has had no hand in this, and i wll never lodge with thhis dishonest, careless, and deceptive company. I askked the help agent if she would just simply reinstate the booking and she said $35 more.…
We stayed here during Christmas time of 2019 since Tripadvisor does not allow to write reviews a year after I am writing it for month of February. Rooms here are not that big. However this is at prime location, you can catch subway after two blocks of walking which makes it super convenient to travel around New York. We walked at night for Times Square which is about 15-20 mins by walk from here instead of waiting for a train at subway. Hotel has dinning options, my wife had ordered pasta which was decent enough. It also has a rooftop bar, one. of the days we saw couples enjoying zouk dance. After 25th this place gets more travelers as you approach towards 31st Dec. We had to wait 30 mins in the morning for lifts as lot of people were checking in. So be prepared for longer wait times after Christmas. I would recommend this hotel if I am visiting New York and want to stay near Time Square.…
You don't even deserve a 1 rate, your Hotel was an awful experience, Garbage in the hallways, People without wearing mask, luggage abandoned in the elevators for several minutes, Poor Service, Hygiene non existence, A used mask in the garbage of a supposedly new room, and even roaches. we can Understand the situation but there is no excuse for the lack of the minimun to take care of your guests. we ran out of there as soon as we could and booked in The New Yorker. NEVER AGAIN!!
