It had been a few years since I had stayed at the Mark, and I am delighted to have returned! I found it as gracious and elegant as ever. The thing about the Mark is that it feels like a home. What could be better than your very own apartment on the UES? Each room is created with lots of built in storage, drawers, closets, places to unpack and really feel at ease. The home touches like letter openers and a yoga mat. And it has a design sensibility that invigorates while being arty and sophisticated. The most comfy bed ever, plush towels and great water pressure are always a huge plus. I had a special request for my room - this was actioned in seconds and I was told they would add it to my guest profile and I would not need to ask again. They hit the mark!

The Mark is flawless. From the sophisticated lobby to the spacious luxurious rooms with heavenly bedding no detail is overlooked. The design is elegant yet understated with no pretention. The staff is friendly and accomodating. The location is perfection. I was there for four nights and wish I could have stayed a month!

Stayed for a long weekend in a 77th street room. Booked through our brilliant Virtuoso agent (Ourisman Travel). Upgrade at the time of booking and excellent benefits. This was a first class experience. Requested a quiet room on a high floor and the hotel delivered. Had a wonderful dinner at the Jean George restaurant and breakfast through room service. Friendly and genuine attitude of the staff was evident at every turn. We have stayed at many of the excellent hotels in NY and the Mark is the best so far. Well done and thank you.

The Mark is quite nice - the rooms are comfortable and well appointed and it is in a great location. The front desk is nice but slightly awkward. Had a good lunch at the restaurant but found egg shells in my breakfast and had poor service for breakfast. I would return to the hotel and hope for a better dining experience.

Highest end hotel; book a suite here and you will feel like you are living with the uber-wealthy of the Upper East Side. The staff quickly learns your name and strives to make the hotel a personal experience for you. According to the concierge, when the hotel was remodeled just a few years ago, the intent was to sell apartments. The suites were built as apartments, and we definitely felt that we could live in that suite. Central Park is a block away, and the Met is a 10-minute walk. There are many fine restaurants within a few blocks, and lower prices can be found by walking over to Lexington Ave. The hotel offers a free limo that will take you almost anywhere on the Upper East Side. The bar scene is wealthy 20-30 somethings with loud music and very little seating, but the hidden bar back in the Jean Georges restaurant is accommodating if you have a party of 4 for appetizers and cocktails or for a late night supper. We spent nine nights at the hotel with an American Express package that included breakfast, so we became very familiar with the Jean Georges establishment. We also had dinner there on our first night; the experience at breakfast and dinner was always first class.

Welcome home. That’s how you are greeted when you enter the hotel and it says it all. It is not a word said but a genuine feeling shared by the wonderful staff that make you feel it. The location and facilities are superb but the people working there, all of them, is what makes this hotel truly unique.

My 165-pound Saint Bernard was saved by a quick-thinking doorman/dog handler extraordinaire by the name of Adnon this morning at The Mark Hotel. Spooked by loud clanging of City noises, my dog bolted away from me down Madison Avenue near traffic. I was screaming for him to no avail. Buck was adopted by me 3 years ago in Virginia from an abusive home. I trained him to be a pet therapy support dog for military at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington D.C. As I ran towards him I saw a handsome young man bring him back to me. Adnon was my hero. He told me he could not best to see such a magnificent animal suffer. I will always recommend the hotel that chose this incredible man.

My wife and I just returned from 6 glorious nights at The Mark, and we loved every minute of our stay there. The hotel is well-located at the corner of 77th and Madison Ave, just a short block from Central Park and an easy walk to many museums, including the Frick and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It is also on one of the nicest stretches of Madison Avenue, so the shopping is fantastic. The Mark is not a huge hotel, with just about 100 rooms (about half the size of the nearby Carlyle), giving it a boutique, intimate feel. The defining feature of The Mark is its service. The hotel makes you feel like family. Nothing is too much trouble for the amazing doormen (doorpersons?) and concierge staff, who will get you into the city's best restaurants and arrange almost anything you might need during your stay. (Thank you, Vinmore, for your supreme patience in booking our various dining experiences, and Gabriela, for going above and beyond to arrange the perfect table for my wife's birthday dinner at the hotel's Jean-Georges restaurant.) The hotel has a complementary black SUV and driver for guests as well on a first-come basis. The lobby sports The Mark's characteristic black and white striped marble floors, with a seating area and the gorgeous adjacent bar and the restaurant. We ate twice at Jean-Georges, and the food was really excellent. The bar and restaurant are lively and packed (lots of very well-dressed people, many of whom look like they are on their way to or from a gala of one kind or another.) We had adjoining rooms overlooking quiet 77th, with a central door that, once closed, allowed us to go between the rooms in complete privacy. The rooms are spacious, with a very comfortable king bed, a club chair, and a round table with two chairs. Many of the hotel's rooms are suites, which are even more luxe. The bathrooms are black and white marble, with a separate shower (amazing water pressure) and tub. Breakfast at the hotel is also excellent, and we also ate a few breakfasts around the corner at Sant Ambroeus, where one can dine indoors (bustling) or in one of their uber-chic sidewalk tents where each table is in its own glass-enclosed, heated room with its own door, where one can sip espresso and eat breakfast in complete privacy while watching well-heeled upper east siders pass by. The whole experience at the hotel and places like Sant A give off a distinctly European vibe. In short, this is an elegant, warm hotel run seamlessly by consummate professionals who are eager to enhance your NYC experience. It is not cheap to be sure - but we felt it was worth every penny. We had a great time there.
