"Best City Hotel in The US" and "Best Hotel in New York" by Travel and Leisure's World's Best Awards 2020, The Mark is housed in the beautiful 1927 landmark building at the corner of 77th Street and Madison Avenue. But, inside, The Mark has been completely reimagined, and given new life and identity for the 21st century. The Mark combines old-world comfort, avant-garde design, up-to-the-minute technology and an unprecedented level of personal service to create the finest five-star hotel of the 21st century. Drawing on the expertise of an extraordinary group of talent – foremost, among them, the designer Jacques Grange, Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, hair stylist Frederic Fekkai and hotel General Manager Manuel Martinez – The Mark Hotel is now a beacon of high French style, and modern American technology and comfort. The delights of The Mark are both bold and discreet. The graphic lobby is colorful and convivial, situated with unique objects d’art that surprise and intrigue. Studded in one of New York's most exclusive neighborhoods, The Mark is surrounded by the world's premier museums, shops, restaurants and the splendor of Central Park. The Mark not only surrounds you in luxury and style, it places you at the epicenter of Manhattan’s social and cultural riches.

We have been here less than 24 hours and so far the amazing staff has far exceeded any other luxury 5 star hotel we have ever stayed at and we are frequent travelers! The first reason is that the hotel manager upon meeting my husband gave us his personal cell phone number and told us if we need anything, even a towel, to call him. In the many 5 star hotel (including diamond 💎) this is a first for a manager to do. Secondly, we just got in from 🇮🇹 Italy and I am experiencing some jet lag and asked for tums which they did not have on hand but promptly went to CVS and brought them to our door. They also had on hand a European adapter that we needed for a device we purchased abroad. They brought it up in a tiny bag with The Mark’s logo stamped on the front. Thirdly, the room service has already gone above and beyond by bringing all kinds of fresh fruit and nuts and cookies that we didn’t order just to be nice and give that extra warmth and welcome. The beds are amazingly soft & comfortable. Every amenity here at your fingertips including cordless chargers by the bed, a button to lower blackout shades and heated bathroom floors and towel hangers. The staff are all amazing, warm, friendly and go beyond to make you feel welcomed and not a guest but more like a well known VIP. Well done to all of the wonderfully warm and kind staff here at The Mark Hotel! Jerrod & I are blown away & will never choose another hotel to stay at in NYC. 🗽 ♥️

My husband and I just had the most fabulous staycation at The Mark. We were honestly wowed by the stellar service at this beautiful jewel box of a hotel on the best block of the Upper East Side. Our gorgeous spacious room, replete with a fabulous Carerra marble bath, was stocked with goodies upon our arrival. Stunning roses, chocolates, fresh fruit, a cookie platter…honestly it was such a lovely surprise and kick off to our stay in the city. The room was so airy and bright, with seemingly endless closet space and a beautiful view of the skyline. Breakfast at Jean Georges was impeccable as well. I want to thank Molly at guest relations for assisting with our lovely stay. She is amazing and left no stone unturned. We can’t wait to go back to the Mark!

Hey it's a 5 star hotel - so bed was great, lots of amenities and some witty/fun marketing but what really makes this place special is what really seems to be the genuinely friendly staff - from the door people to the cleaning staff to the guy who helped my sign my room service ticket with no glasses on - all were just lovely. they remembered names, what you circumstances were and were just happy and helpful. The restaurant is super as well with one of the nicest outdoor seating in the city. my daughter who lives there says it is the cleanest. The robes in the rooms are the best. i bought one.

We had a wonderful week at the Mark. Our dog was treated like royalty and had the time of her life. (If you have a dog do not hesitate to stay here!). All our requests were fulfilled with ease. I would like to commend the great staff—especially Farid (doorman), Dawa (front desk) and Maria/Winmore/Krista (concierges)—for their excellent service. They made it feel more like a home than a hotel.

The location, which was both out of the way of the bustle of mid-town but right in the heart of the upper East Side and Central Park, was fantastic. The service was exquisite, and the room was super comfortable. We loved it.

Wow. I am jaded, and not easily impressed-but the Mark blew my socks off. We had dined here many times, but this was our first stay--and it won't be our last! From the front door staff (thank you Michael) to the front desk, the concierge, management, housekeeping--everyone delivers. This is one of the best hotels in the world, and certainly the best in NYC to me (and we have stayed in many top hotels there). Everything was seamless (and spotless). The attention to detail is incredible--and post COVID when many hotels and restaurants cannot attract staff, the Mark has plenty of amazing folks all dedicated to improving your stay. Thanks all-can't wait to return.

I wanted a quick luxury overnight getaway in the city so I chose the Mark due to its reputation and great reviews. Honestly it was a very expensive show about nothing. I have stayed in far more luxurious city hotels around the world with superior EVERYTHING. Crowded lines at check in and check out, a tiny rather shabby lobby, dark hall ways, and except for a lovely bathroom, a very small rather depressing room with 2 small armless chairs to sit in, not even close to each other. There isn’t space for that. I guess I should be blown away by the models in the lobby and rock star looking guests. But I wasn’t. I was thinking I should have stayed somewhere else. The area is so lovely, and breakfast outside in the tent was very nice. But I will not return to the Mark. It’s all hype, smoke and mirrors. However, an extremely nice woman named Carmel helped me check out and buck the long line. She was extremely sweet and personable, a stand out.
