No hot water entire stay, seemed as if staff didn't care about it and didn't try to help. Asked for new room they claimed whole building had no hot water and the tanks needs to be reset twice a day. Who wants to stay in a place with no hot water?
This is a nice hotel in a good location. The bed was comfortable and cozy. However, the bathroom was in need of a good & thorough cleaning & the toilet in my King room was a tight fit between the sink and the sliding door... it definitely would not be comfortable to someone with weight issues. It was nice to have a microwave and mini fridge and the small (repeat: small) reading chair in the corner was a great touch!
My grown daughter and I stayed for 2.5 weeks at Hyatt House NY/Chelsea. The beginning of our stay was in quarantine per NY state orders, so we reserved a suite with a balcony to step out for fresh air. The King Specialty Suite on the 29th floor met all of our needs and expectations as in past stays. This is our 3rd stay at this location. There was plenty of room for my yoga mat. Great lighting with floor to ceiling windows on 3 sides. Rooms are spotless and we felt good about the safety measures in place. Employees all masked, housekeeping has been reduced to keep contact to a minimum. Special requests to adjust housekeeping days were granted and staff helped with deliveries and package pick-ups. Because the elevators are so fast, I rarely rode with anyone else. The limit is 2 people max per elevator. The heating/cooling system can get a little loud in the bedroom but we just turned it off at night and the temperature was fine. Hotel shows a little wear and tear but that is reflective in the pricing. It is an excellent value!!! During our visit it was less than half the cost that it was before the pandemic. If you are looking for a mid-range hotel in a central location with a great view, I recommend staying here. Thank you to staff for making our stay safe and pleasant.…
This is a lovely, well appointed hotel with nice staff and a good location. It needs to fix some important things. It is clean with great features, but none of that matters when your room is 86 degrees at 4:00 am. Also, I like to not waste water or energy. The King Suite's hot water took a minimum of 10 minutes to warm up. I don't usually take longer than ten minutes in a shower anyways. My second shower there was cold. I waited 12 minutes but, it didn't warm up. I finally showered and it started getting warm right before I got out. It took 19 minutes. Maybe we had an unlucky streak with our two rooms. The first night we arrive late after driving from Chicago to move our daughter to New York. The one bedroom suite was very warm, but we turned down the 4 thermostats and went to bed. We all woke up in the middle of the night super hot. All of the thermostat's displays ranged between 82 and 86. The front desk just suggested turning the thermostats off. We did. No offers to change rooms. By morning, it was still just as hot. The space itself was nice. The bedroom is TIGHT, but separate from the living room/kitchen. It would be a better set up for 2 people than 3. The pull out sofa made the space even more cramped. The hide a bed already had a sheet and my daughter wondered if it was clean. Under the matress was not. The room had excellent views of the city. The Kitchen King Suite was spacious for 2 people. It had the conveniences of a short stay. Other than how long it took the water to get warm, this was an excellent space and set up for a few days in New York with the ability to eat breakfast or bring take-out meals to your room. We could not get the dishwasher to start, so staff had to come while we were out. We had to dry all the dishes when returned very late that night. The workout facility was on the top floor with a fabulous view. There were 2 treadmills, 2 ellipticals, and bike. Each unit had a monitor for TV or connect to the internet. I was only able to get the TV to work on one machine (treadmill) and I could not connect my iPhone 12. The equipment was in good working order. There are not any towels or wipes to clean off equipment!!! This seems to be a hotel standard right now. Why is taking away the ability to disinfect after yourself a good practice? I called to ask for a towel, but the staff person seemed annoyed by my request. No one brought a towel. I had to leave and return to my room for one. It is nice to go up to the top floor and check out the views from the roof. Breakfast was all prebagged. …
I rented two rooms for 3 adults and two children, and they put everything with measure, soaps, towels etc, every day you had to ask them for something, the location is good but the area is very neglected
