I had planned to stay at Crosby Street but it was booked so I ended up at the Greenwich -- and I'm so happy I did! Both are terrific properties, the Crosby has better views but the Greenwich had a much cosier feel (that's not a reflection on the room size, my room was quite spacious) and ultimately more comfortable.... Robert de Niro has taste. And his retreat in the middle of Tribeca shows it. It's quiet and yet full of life. The garden is it. You must have dinner or breakfast in the garden. You must. And, the gym, the spa are amazing. Tucked away down below, the staff is not snobby at all what you could expect in... More

I love the Greenwich. I happen to live down the street, but I've also stayed in these rooms several times. The front desk staff is amazing. The food at Locanda is incredible. The rooms are huge and every one is different. ** Sit in the drawing room and split the Bistecca for two. You have about a 90% chance of... More

great staff, very helpful. breakfast was excellent (a la carte) the best French toast ever! Room was nice and quiet. Loved that they offer you a basket full of sweets and cookies on arrival, and also al non alcoholic beverages in mini bar are free. Those little details make the big difference. The heated pool is beautiful and what a... More

My partner and I spent a weekend in New York last November after becoming engaged the night before leaving. We had chosen this hotel as a "splurge" to celebrate. We booked the cheapest room, thinking that it would be good enough for us, and that we couldn't really afford an upgrade. When we arrived, our room was ready early, and... More

Loved this downtown hotel! I usually stay uptown (Four Seasons); this was a real treat (especially having a soft spot for all things rustically charming .... I'm from Texas :)). The staff were so welcoming and thoughtful. Being more boutique in size, there were concerns with noise pollution (from street and construction and elevators) ... the concerns were met with... More

There's lots to like about The Greenwich: the residents-only lounge is charming, the rooms are spacious and quirkily individual, help-yourself free mini bar and snacks, great spa and pool, good location and fantastic breakfasts in the restaurant. When I was there Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were in residence and there were paparazzi outside the whole time. It added a... More

I had yet another wonderful stay at The Greenwich this weekend utilizing the restaurant, library room and spa and all did not disappoint. A wonderful enjoyable visit. One minor note is my very large room had one of the smallest bathrooms I have experienced there...too small for women so be sure to ask for a bigger bathroom as the rooms... More

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighborhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighborhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighborhood home.
