We spent our 40th wedding anniversary in NYC and stayed at The Greenwich Hotel. We’ve been in NY many times and decided to try staying in Tribeca. What a great decision!!!! The Greenwich Hotel felt like home and the area was wonderful. We’ve found our new favorite spot to stay when we visit NYC.
Beautiful hotel! Feels like you are on a European vacation. One of the few hotels where we purposely never leave. The room, the spa and the restaurant/bar are all exceptional. Staff are always very kind as well.
The Greenwich Hotel is a special place with a special vibe that's not entirely for everyone. It's very well located in the Tribeca area and has Locanda Verde to service its food so it's full service. The food is probably my least favorite part about this hotel- it's overpriced and not super appealing. That said, if you stay at the hotel you have access to a private courtyard that is wonderful and a drawing room that's cozy with a fireplace and leather couches. It's like hanging out in a library. The hotel itself has rooms that are all different, all of which have comfy beds and great showers. They clean twice a day and you get complementary snacks and drinks in room which is pretty awesome. The room amenities are also artisan and smell lovely. The cons are the rooms have wood floors that can be very creaky and the courtyard rooms are loud especially if you are by a staff stairwell. The hotel though has so much charm, it really feels quite different than a regular hotel, you can't help but love it. It's old New York. The price point is high- there are probably other hotels at this price point that may have more offerings but not in Tribeca. Lastly they have an indoor pool and spa that is small and lovely. Very relaxing.…
What a wonderful hotel. I was delighted to stay again and the hotel went beyond all expectations to make it an impeccable stay. We travelled as a family for my sisters birthday and it was a truly one-of-a-kind experience from start to finish. Enormous thanks to Philip Truelove and Shannon Knapp for a MasterClass in hospitality
Excellent, it was the best thing that happened to us in a long time, super delicious food, a super friendly treatment, a spectacular place, we felt very pampered and wanted to stay longer, the only bad thing is that it was so nice that you feel sorry to go to visit the rest of the island.
Every aspect of our stay was so wonderful. Breakfast in the courtyard, the linens on our bed, the amenities in our room to the friendliness of the staff everything was perfect. The location was great for walking and enjoying the waterfront as well as lower and midtown. The recommendations of the concierge were very helpful.
I absolutely loved the hotel, the staff was extremely friendly and professional, the design is chic and understated, my room so calm and comfortable. I had a loveky handwritten note in my room from the director and delicious homemade cookies waiting for me in the room - all nice personal touches. I have been staying at the Carlyle for more than a decade and had to stay downtown this time - I will definitely consider coming back again.
If you are wondering if you should splurge on a stay at the Greenwich Hotel, think no more and DO IT! I travel a lot and stay at many wonderful properties and am always looking for something unique and personal. This beautiful property checks all the boxes, great service, beautiful rooms, lounge and dining areas. Summer breakfast in the courtyard is over the top and the cosy lounge, with a woodburning fireplace, will make you not want to leave. The spa is also a must do!
The Greenwich Hotel is the antithesis of the standard Hilton or Marriott. Yes, you'll pay dearly for it but the feel is more that if an upscale, very exclusive club. There's no sign on the door, it's very low key and if you're not a guest or a friend of a guest, you won't be admitted to the hotel's chic private courtyard bar, which is tony and lined with sofas, a fireplace and a friendly staff. No snobbery or arrogance here - from front desk to waitstaff to housekeeping to doormen, all are nuclear smilers and willing to help. The location can't be beat as it's jammed with restaurants and bars that are all great (and many owned by De Niro), the food's top-shelf. Feels very European. Great liquid soap and shampoos in the rooms, by the way. If your wallet can handle the crunch, this is a calming oasis in a very busy city.…
If you are looking for a quiet, private boutique hotel in the downtown area, you can’t beat this spot. The hotel bar/library lounge is private to hotel guests, so you can always find a cozy spot to settle in for a drink or a meal from Locanda Verde menu. Rooms were well kept and spacious by New York standards.
